3. Mounting Product
The Colour Combat MP can be mounted in any orientation to a flat, non-flammable,
structurally sound and capable surface. The fixture should be mounted away from
flammable materials, whilst also allowing adequate airflow over and around the
fixture at all times.
The Colour Combat MP weighs approximately 17.5Kg and as such the fixings and
mounting surfaces should be able to support this weight, and that of any wind
or other shear forces. There are 3 convenient holes in the fixture bracket for use
when fixing to a surface, which can be used to mount the fixture in any position.
Remember, this product is designed to be aimed in a direction in accordance with
a lighting design, therefore provision needs to be made for its angular adjustment
and care should be taken that the installation environment allows for the adequate
tilting of the fixture.
Please refer to Fig. 1, which shows the fixture and its mounting holes. When fixing
to any surface, fixings should be made through holes A (left), B (centre) and C
(right). It should be noted that installation onto certain supporting structures may
require different fixing methods, please contact Elumeros support for assistance.
IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT FIXING SIZES AND THE TYPE OF FIXINGS ARE SPECIFIED
AND APPROVED BY AN APPROPRIATELY QUALIFIED AND COMPETENT PERSON!
The Colour Combat MP comes supplied with a safety fixing accessory (wire) for use
when mounting above ground (see Fig. 2). This safety wire must be affixed to the
fixture using the anchor hole as indicated to the right with the wire itself attached
to an appropriate load bearing anchor that corresponds to the weight of the fixture
with additional weight bearing capacity for any other forces that may be apparent.
The yoke of the fixture (which allows for its tilt) can be adjusted using a tool. There
is a convenient angular dial to assist with the tilt degree of the fixture. The screw
is indicated as shown (see Fig. 2). Care should be taken to not over tighten these
screws, and similarly care should be taken to ensure the screws are not over
loosened when the tilt is being adjusted.
The Colour Combat MP can also be installed onto a vertical post top with an
appropriate pole mount adaptor as shown to the right with fixings as indicated
(see Fig. 3). Please note that due to the weight of the Colour Combat MP, the pole
cannot be installed upside down in a hanging position, it must only be installed
vertically.
Please consult our technical support team for assistance with selecting the
appropriate type of pole, flange/base plate and accessories before using this
method of installation.
Note that this installation guide is limited to the installation of the fixture and the
electrical connection therefore before installing the product, it is recommended
to consult with an appropriately qualified and competent engineer to ensure the
correctness of the intended installation method.
- All fixings must be corrosion resistant.
- Separation washer(s) must be installed between any part of the fixture and
mounting surface(s).
- Avoid mounting the fixture in direct contact with other types of metal, as this
can cause galvanic corrosion. Care should be taken to ensure all fixings and
metal contact points will not cause galvanic corrosion. For guidance, please
contact Elumeros support.

4. Electrical Connections
The Colour Combat MP comes with 2 cables, one of which is a power cable and
the other a DMX cable to allow for intelligent control of the fixture (the length of
both the power and DMX cables are as standard 3 metres in length or they can be
supplied with custom lengths for custom orders).
The power cable is a 1mm 3 core cable, which should be adequately protected
using electrical protection devices according to local regulations.
Certain countries permit the landing of power and data cables into the same
enclosure, for tidiness of installation. Care should be taken to ensure power and
data cables are separated inside the enclosure, with barriers in place. This method
of installation should be done in accordance with local regulations. If in doubt,
please consult Elumeros support or a suitably qualified and experienced electrician.
Elumeros recommends the use of “snap down” type splicing connectors, such
as the those available from Wago (221 series). The appropriate type should be
selected in accordance with the electrical characteristics of the circuit.
All cables should be landed in appropriate enclosures and junction boxes using
suitable glands to ensure adequate IP ratings in accordance with local regulations.
The IP rating should be equal to or higher than the IP rating of this product. Note
that water can be sucked through the cables, this happens when the fixture warms
creating a pressure difference between the inside of the fixture and the enclosure
or junction box, therefore it is also recommended to fill enclosures and junction
boxes with potting compounds in and around cable entries.
DMX cabling between fixtures should be in accordance with the relevant DMX
standards that incorporate RDM (remote device management). It is important
to note that all DMX equipment, including DMX splitters, controllers, buffers,
repeaters, etc. MUST support bi-directional RDM. If in doubt, please contact
Elumeros support for design assistance.
Basic DMX Guidelines:
- DMX cabling should not exceed 300 metres in length in total without the use
of a DMX repeater/buffer or splitter and when such devices are used, instructions
should be followed to ensure cable lengths are within the remit of these devices
- No more than 32 devices should be connected onto the same DMX bus. If more
devices are required, the main DMX signal can be sent through an appropriate
splitter, which can deliver several outputs each with a capacity of 32 devices
(check specifics of product for the exact number of devices that can be
supported per output)
- DMX cables should be terminated with a 120 resistor at both ends and note
that most DMX controllers and splitters have their output ports terminated
already. Please check user manuals for these products for more information.
- DMX cables MUST be in compliance with the relevant DMX standards that include
RDM (remote device management).
- The correct polarity of cores must always be maintained.
CONTACT ELUMEROS SUPPORT FOR ASSISTANCE
Elumeros also has a range of Hybrid power and data cables, which can be used on
fixed installations to dramatically reduce installation time. These cables have power
and data within the same physical cable body. Please contact Elumeros or your
local distributor for more information.
Please note that some products supplied by Elumeros may have custom power and
data feed options, such as IP rated plugs and sockets. Please contact support for
more information surrounding these connectors.

The ElumerCheck System
To ensure high colour consistency we have
implemented an ElumerCheck process at
the manufacturing stage of our products
development. It addresses many of the
everyday problems designers encounter
when realising their architectural lighting
schemes, right from the product build stage.
- Eradicates the colour offset problem
that often arises in different brightness
and temperatures
- Ensures colour consistency across all
manufacturing runs, e.g. the product
you buy today will give the same results
as one you purchase in six months
- You can create a hue or white by
setting the colour coordinates, which
translates across all products featuring
this technology
