Installing the Main Gas Shut-Off
WARNING
Never use an exposed ame to check for leaks. Fireplace
must be disconnected from piping at inlet of control valve and
pipe capped or plugged for pressure test. Never pressure test
with replace connected; control valve will sustain damage.

If one of the procedures results in pressures in excess of
1/2 psig (14 inches w.c.) (3.5 kPa) on the replace gas valve,

WARNING
When nishing the replace never obstruct or modify the
gap around the glass frame in any manner. Provide adequate
clearances around air openings into the combustion chamber.
CAUTION
If the joints between the nished wall and the replace surround
(top and sides) are sealed, a 300°F minimum sealant material
must be used. These joints are not required to be sealed. Only
non-combustible material (using 300°F minimum adhesive if
needed) can be applied as facing to the replace surround.
