Illustrations
The printer shown in the illustrations in this guide differs in some respects from the actual product,
but these differences have no effect on the assembly process.
Some show the printer with the optional auto take-up reel unit attached.
Safety Instructions
Read all of these instructions before using your printer. Also be sure to follow all warnings and
instructions marked on the printer.
Warning
Use only the power cord that comes with the printer. Use of another cord may result in fire or

electric shock.
Wear protective eyewear and gloves when refilling ink tanks or replacing the Waste Ink Bottle.

Should ink contact your skin or enter your eyes or mouth, immediately take the following actions:
- If fluid adheres to your skin, immediately wash it off using large volumes of soapy water. Consult
a physician if the skin appears irritated or is discolored.
- If fluid enters your eyes, rinse immediately with water. Failure to observe this precaution could
result in bloodshot eyes or mild inflammation.
- If swallowed, induce vomiting and consult a physician immediately.
Caution
The printer unit is heavy and unwieldy. Have 6 or more people unpack and assemble the printer

and stand.
Be careful not to trap your hands or fingers when opening or closing the front cover.

EN Choosing a Place for the Printer TC 選擇放置印表機的位置
Instructions for Placing the Printer
Leave adequate room as shown in the table for setting up the printer.

Choose a level and stable location that can support the weight of the printer (about 204 kg).
❏
Use only an outlet that meets the power requirements of this printer.
❏
Operate the printer under the following conditions:
❏
Temperature: 15 to 35°C (59 to 95°F)
Humidity: 20 to 80% without condensation
Even the conditions above are met, you may not print properly if the environmental conditions
❏
are not proper for the paper. See the instructions of the paper for more detailed information.
Keep the printer away from drying, direct sunlight, or heat sources to maintain the appropriate
❏
humidity.

Before using the printer, be sure the stand is fixed in place. When moving the printer, rotate the adjusters in the opposite
direction to raise them and then unlock the casters.

After completing the assembly, use the included roll core and adjustment paper to perform parallel adjustment of the Auto Take-up Reel Unit.
If parallel adjustment is not performed, the media may not be fed straight, resulting in printing or take-up failures.
In this operation, checks and adjustments are performed on the printer’s front and rear sides at the same time, so use two persons.
完成組裝後，請使用內附的紙軸和調整用紙進行自動收紙單元的平行調整。
如果未進行平行調整，材料可能不會平整進入，從而導致列印或收紙錯誤。

Pull the adjustment paper to the left end of the roll core, insert it into the printer, and then place it over the platen while it is taut. Align
a ruler with the front side of the white line and draw a line with a pen.
將調整用紙拉向紙軸的左側並插入印表機，然後把處於拉緊狀態的調整用紙置於壓盤上。將直尺對齊正面的白線，然後用筆劃
一條線。

Pull out the adjustment paper, pull it to the right end of the roll core, insert it into the printer, and then feed it all inside.

Check the positions of the white line on the platen and the line you drew in step [4] while the adjustment paper is taut. If the
line you drew is not aligned with the white line as shown in the figure on the right, go to step [7]. If the lines are aligned, go to
step [8].

While checking the positions of the two lines on the front side of the printer, perform the adjustment. Turn the adjustment
screw clockwise to move the drawn line back, and turn it counterclockwise to move the drawn line forward. The line is
moved by approx. 1 mm with each turn of the screw. When the drawn line reaches the position of the broken line, the
adjustment is completed.
在印表機正面確認兩條線的位置的同時進行調整。順時針旋轉調整螺絲可向後移動所畫的線，逆時針旋轉可向前移
動所畫的線。每旋轉一次螺絲，所畫的線將被移動約 1 mm。當所畫的線到達虛線的位置時，表示調整完成。

Fully tighten the four screws that you provisionally tightened.

Contact a service engineer to attach the “Epson Genuine Ink Supply System” and “Ink Supply System Cover 1” and adjust the printer. Do not turn the printer on until the
service engineer’s work is complete.
Attempting to perform these tasks yourself could result in product malfunction or damage to the product and will void the product warranty.
若要安裝“Epson Genuine Ink Supply System”和“Ink Supply System Cover 1”並調整印表機，請洽詢維修工程師。維修工程師未完成工作之前，請勿開啟印表機電源。
