INITIAL SETUP
1. Remove your scale from the protective bag and insert the batteries. Place
the scale on a flat surface.
2. To complete setup and pair your scale to the Escali SmartConnect mobile

WEIGHT MEASUREMENTS
1. Press the power [ ] to turn the scale on.
2. Press UNIT [ ] to change units (pounds, ounces, grams.)
3. Place an item on the scale in the center of the platform.
TARE (ADD & WEIGH)
Ignore the weight of a container:
1. Place a container on the platform before turning the scale on.
-OR-
1. Turn the scale on, add the container and press TARE [ ].
2. Wait 3 seconds and zero weight will display.
3. Add items into the container to be weighed.
Find the individual weight of multiple items in one container:
1. Press TARE [ ] to reset the scale back to zero weight.
2. Add additional items to be weighed.
3. Repeat steps 1-2 for each additional item.
Reset the scale back to zero weight:
1. If nothing is on the scale and it does not read zero weight, press TARE
[ ] to reset the scale back to zero weight.
Attention! The scale will tare any amount of weight. Once the total weight ac-
tually on the scale reaches the maximum capacity of 11 pounds (5000 g.) the
overload warning code (EEEE) will display.
KITCHEN TIMER
1. Press the timer symbol [ ] to enter into the timer feature.
2. Press UNIT [ ] to change numbers. Press [ ] to confirm.
3. After selecting the last number, press [ ] to start the timer.

4. Press [ ] to switch back into scale mode. The timer will continue to run.
Press [ ] to switch back into timer mode.
5. To reset the timer, press and hold [ ] while in timer mode.
6. Press [ ] to turn off the alarm.
BLUETOOTH® SMART
Bluetooth® SMART wireless technology, also known as Bluetooth® Low En-
ergy or BLE, enables the Escali SmartConnect Kitchen Scale to automatically
send weight measurements to the Escali SmartConnect mobile app for en-
hanced functionality.
TOUCH SENSITIVE CONTROLS
 Light contact with the surface of the controls will activate them.
 Pressing hard on the controls will cause the scale to malfunction.
 You must operate the controls with bare hands.
AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
The scale will turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity to save battery.
BLUE BACKLIGHT DISPLAY
 The backlight will turn on when adding items onto the scale.
 The backlight turns off automatically after 18 seconds of inactivity.
SOUNDS
 To silence the confirmation beep, press and hold UNIT [ ]. The kitchen
timer alarm will not be silenced.
 To reactivate the confirmation beep, press and hold UNIT [ ].
PROPER USE & CARE
 Use and stow the scale at room temperature.
 Use on a flat, level and stable surface.
 The scale is an instrument of precision. Do not submit the scale to shak-
ing, excessive vibration or other rough treatment.
 The display may be affected by electromagnetic disturbances such as ra-
dios, microwaves or cell phones. If such disturbances occur, remove the
source of the disturbance & restart the scale.
 Disassembling or tampering with the scale voids the warranty.
 Clean the scale with dish soap and a damp cloth.
 Do not submerge in liquid. The scale is not waterproof.
