APPLICATION
Your Coffee Machi e was designed to allow multiple applications,
according to t e several types of coffee available on t e market.
T erefore you may prepare and excellent Espresso, a Crema
Coffee, a Caffe Latte or any ot er espresso based drink.
T e coffee flavor depends owever on several factors, w ic must
always be considered w en selecting it, namely:
 T e coffee origin
 T e fineness of grind
T e kind of pod
Ot er aspects to consider w en preparing coffee are:
 An adequate dosage of coffee powder
 An adequate pressing of coffee
 T e quality of t e water
You must select t e combination of t ese factors t at best suit your
taste.
SAFETY ADVICE
Read t e instructions carefully before using t e appliance for t e first
time. ESPRESSIONE will not be liable for incidents resulting from
usage, w ic is not in accordance wit t e instructions.
C eck t at t e voltage of t e power supply corresponds to t e label
on t e base of t e mac ine. T is appliance s ould only be connected
using eart ed plug sockets.
Place t e coffee mac ine on a stable, flat surface away from ot
surfaces.
Never immerse t e coffee mac ine in water or any ot er liquid.
Do not expose t e coffee mac ine to t e atmosp eric elements.
T is appliance was designed exclusively for domestic use, wit in t e
ome.
As wit any appliance, c ildren s ould only be permitted to use it
under suitable guidance.
Use t e coffee mac ine wit a full water reservoir.
Do not remove t e plug from t e socket by pulling t e cable flex.
W en closing t e control andle be careful not to place t e ands
inside t e filter support.
W en preparing coffee t e control andle must be completely closed,
as indicated in Functioning.
Switc off t e power supply after eac usage.
Do not use t e appliance if it is not functioning correctly, or if it is
damaged in any way. Any intervention beyond cleaning s ould be
carried out by an aut orized Espressione Service Centre.
Do not use t e appliance if t e power cable or plug is damaged.
Do not attempt to replace t e power cable. Service must be carried
out by an aut orized Espressione Service Centre.
T e ESPRESSIONE coffee mac ine is in accordance wit t e European
Union directives  no.. 89/336/CEE regarding Electromagnetic
Compatibility and no. 73/23/CEE regarding Electrical Safety.

OPERATION
 Plug t e appliance (O) in t e nearest socket;
 C eck t at t e water reservoir (B) contains a sufficient quantity of
drinking water. To add water to t e reservoir, lift up t e cup tray (A).
T e tank can be refilled w ile in place or removed by gripping at t e
back and pulling upwards;
 Turn on t e ON/OFF switc (F). T e indicator (D) lig ts and s ows
a red signal;
 Select t e filter (no. 1, 2 or 3) to use according to t e type of coffee
being prepared. T e selection of t e correct filter is made as following:
 Place t e desired amount of coffee powder or Pod(s) in t e filter;
Importa t:
 Press t e coffee powder wit t e coffee measurer / tamper
(N). After tamping (pressing) t e coffee level must be below
t e maximum level indicated inside t e filter;
 T e Soft Pod must be positioned wit t e aid of t e coffee
measurer / tamper (N) (Fig. 4).

 Place t e selected filter in t e filter older (E) (Fig. 1 and 2);
 Clean t e coffee residues from t e upper part of t e filter older (E),
w en using coffee powder;
 Close t e system by pus ing t e andle (C) downwards, till it snaps
closed (Fig. 3);
 Place one or two cups on t e drip grid (H);
 W en t e indicator (D) turns to a green signal turn on t e coffee
switc (G), to begin t e coffee output;
 W en enoug coffee as been produced, switc off t e coffee switc
(G). Your coffee is ready;
 Remove t e cup(s) and serve;
 Pull t e andle (C) upwards and remove t e filter from t e older (E).
1.st use
 On first use or after long periods of inactivity, and before preparing
coffee or any ot er drink, t e mac ine must be cleaned t oroug ly;
 After filling t e water reservoir (B) and placing a small jar under t e
coffee outlet, switc on t e coffee switc (G);
 W en t e jar is full switc off.
Preparatio of hot dri ks
 Close t e system by pus ing t e andle (C) downwards, till it snaps
closed. (Fig. 3);
 Position a vessel under t e steam tube (R);
 Rotate t e steam knob (Q) anticlockwise till is completely opened.
T e indicator (D) turns to a red t en green;
Note:
 Initially a bit of water will flow from t e steam tube.
 W en steam starts to exit close t e steam knob.(Q), by rotating it
clockwise;
 T row away t e water in t e vessel and you are ready to produce
steam;
 Dip t e cappuccino nozzle (S) in t e liquid to warm and open t e
steam knob (Q), by rotating it anti-clockwise;
 W en t e desired temperature as been reac ed turn t e steam off (Q);
 Remove t e steam tube (R) from t e vessel and position it over t e
drip grid (H).
To prepare a cappuccino you must:
 Use fres cold milk;
 Dip t e cappuccino accessory (S) approximately 3 cm in t e milk
and keep it in t is position;
Secrets for a good coffee
 Use an espresso blend of coffee, ground medium fine or E.S.E. pods
or Soft Pod;
 Pre- eat t e filter basket and cup(s);
 Use filtered water for consistent taste;
 As coffee is a natural product, t e flavor varies based on origin, blend
and roast. Try different blends of special coffee for espresso appliances
until you find t e one w ic best suits your taste;
 Keep t e coffee package in t e fridge, in a sealed container, once
opened;
 Use t e correct amount of coffee in t e filter and press it adequately;
 A small variation in t e coffee dose, as well as ow ard t e coffee
is tamped in t e filter, may vary t e intensity of t e coffee output as
well as t e aroma of your coffee;
 T e greater t e quantity of coffee, t e finer t e grinding and t e more
intensely t e coffee is packed, t e slower t e coffee will flow from
t e appliance. If t e coffee is being produced quickly from t e coffee
exits, you s ould c ange t e type of coffee and use a finer ground
coffee;
 T e coffee s ould flow smoot ly from t e spouts wit out dripping.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To keep t e appliance in good working order and to ensure a long life

a few cleaning and maintenance operations must be carried out
regularly.
Importa t: During t e cleaning and maintenance operations, w enever
it is necessary to touc t e filter older, t e andle must be fully
open.
Clea i g
 Clean t e appliance wit a damp clot and dry it wit a dry clot . Do
not use solvents or abrasive sponges / clot s;
 T e water reservoir (B) and t e drip tray (I) must be regularly was ed
wit water and detergent. After was ing, rinse eac component;
carefully wit clean water (Do not put any parts in t e dis was er)
 To remove coffee residues:
 Place an empty filter in t e filter older (E);
 Turn on t e coffee switc (G) and let t e water flow for a few seconds;
 During t is period move t e andle (C) up and downwards, wit out
closing it completely;
 T e filters must be removed and was ed wit water after eac use
 T e steam tube (R) must be cleaned wit a damp clot .
Mai te a ce
 T e coffee spouts (P) and t e inside of t e filter older (E) can be
cleaned as follows:
 Rotate t e coffee spouts (P) clockwise until it is released from t e
filter older (E) (Fig. 5);
 Clean t e coffee spouts (P) wit running water;
 If required turn on t e coffee switc (G) and let t e water run for a
fe seconds to clean t e inside of t e filter older (E);
 Refit t e coffee spouts (P) on t e filter older (E) and turn it anti-
clockwise;
Decalcificatio
T e decalcification of your appliance must be made according to t e
frequency of use and t e ardness of t e water. We recommend
t is is done at least every 3 mont s;
 Blend a standard decalcifying product detergent (t e type used for
standard domestic kettles or irons), in about 1 liter of water, and fill
t e water reservoir (B) (follow t e instructions indicated by t e
decalcifying product);
 Turn on t e appliance (see OPERATION);
 Place a vessel under t e filter older (E);
 Switc on t e coffee switc (G) and let about 1/3 of t e contents of
t e water reservoir exit t roug t e coffee spouts (P);
 Switc off t e coffee switc (G) and let t e decalcifying solution
activate for around 15 minutes;
 Switc t e coffee switc (G) on again, and let t e remaining content
of t e water reservoir come out of t e appliance;
 Remove t e vessel and was t e water reservoir (B) t oroug ly;
 Fill t e reservoir wit drinking water and let it circulate t roug t e
appliance until emptying t e water reservoir.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
T e coffee is not
coming out, or is

- Water reservoir not fitted correctly

- Coffee spouts blocked
- Too finely ground coffee
- Coffee pressed too ard

- T e coffee is not correctly pressed
- SoftPod not correctly placed
- Not enoug coffee in t e filter
- Coffee ground too coarse
- Old or stale coffee

Importa t: Turn off t e appliance and let it cool completely,
before opening

- Pod misplaced inside t e filter
Importa t:
- Wit t e andle opened turn on t e pump and let t e water
run for a few seconds until t e filter is released.
If t e situation persists, after preparing t e coffee wait a few
seconds before opening t e andle.
