It is the responsibility of the person installing the electrical equipment to ensure that the installation meets the
requirements of the IET wiring regulations and is therefore ‘t for purpose’. Factors such as correct selection
of components, cable sizing, protective devices and Earth bonding are all critical and should be checked prior

ECSS-101 Installation
The ECSS-101 surge protection device is designed to be installed directly from from a spare way in the consumer unit using 6mm cable.
Short circuit protection should be provided by a 32A ‘C’ curve MCB.
The combined length of the connecting conductors in relation to the current path should ideally be less than 0.5 Metres and in no
circumstances exceed 1 Metre.
Live + CPC = <0.5M (Maximum 1M)
Neutral + CPC = <0.5M (Maximum 1M)
