IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using this appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
1. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from the steam vents, check applian-
ce before each use by holding and facing it away from body and depress steam button
in a safe place.
2. Use appliance only for its intended use.
3. This appliance is intended for household and residential use only. This product is not
approved for commercial applications.
4. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other
liquids.
5.Removethe main plugfrom the wallsocket before llingthe tank withwater, before
emptying the tank, when you are not using the appliance, if disturbances occur during
use, after use as well as during thunderstorms and before cleaning the appliance. Never
yank the cord to disconnect from power surge protected bar, instead grasp plug and pull
to disconnect.
6.Alwaysdisconnectappliancefrompowersurgeprotectedbarwhenllingwithwateror
emptying when not in use.
7. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away.
Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
8. Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or
damaged.
9. If cord is damaged it must be replaced by manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualiedtechnicianinordertoavoidahazard.
10. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Take or ship to a
qualiedservicetechnicianforexaminationandrepair.Incorrectreassemblyorrepair
cancauseariskofre,electricshockorinjurytopersonswhenapplianceisused.
11. In the event the iron is not operating properly, disconnect the iron from the electrical
outletandhavetheironservicedbyqualiedservicepersonnel.
12. Not intended for use by children. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being
usednearchildren.Unsupervisedusecanresultinreorpersonalinjury.Donotleave
appliance unattended while plugged in, on an ironing board or while it is still hot.
13. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when
you turn a steam generator upside down as there may be hot water in the reservoir.
14. Never attempt to unscrew the boiler cap while the appliance is in use. The strong steam
pressure could result in burns. Only unscrew the cap when generator is cool or there is
no more pressure in the boiler. (No steam when the steam button is pressed)
15. Always use your cap remover to unscrew the safety cap.

16. Always release all steam from boiler by holding down steam button.
17. Before operating this appliance be sure that the boiler screw cap is in place. An incor-
rectly or missing screw cap could easily allow the steam to emit and lead to scalding.
18. The iron must be used on a stable surface and always put down on a stable, level sur-
face so that it cannot fall down.
19. Put the iron in a vertical position if not on an ironing board holder, or heat resistant mat
and wait for the soleplate to cool down completely before cleaning it.
20.Neverdroporinsertanyobjectintoanyopening(electricalorotherwise)anddonotuse
if one of the openings is blocked in any way.
21. Do not use outdoors.
22.Donotoperatewhereaerosol(spray)productsarebeingusedorwhereoxygenisbeing
administered.
23. Clean the appliance with only a dry or slightly damp cloth.
24. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical,sensoryormentalcapabilitiesorwithlackofexperienceandknowledgeunless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
25. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
26. Do not direct steam at people, animals, electrical equipment or at clothes while they are
being worn.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15 amperage cord should be used.
Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the
cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over unintentionally. To avoid a circuit
overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.

bar. This will prevent any costly damage that could be done to your Eurosteam®
iron when power is restored after a black out or a surge of power enters your home.

1. Water
The Eurosteam® Iron is designed to use regular tap water. Never use 100% distilled water
as this may lead to damage inside the boiler.
About Softened Water and Well Water
Many types of water contain naturally high levels of sodium, iron, mineral and organic mat-
ter. If these collect inside the boiler it can eventually appear as brown stains or can cause
yourEurosteam®tospitduringuse.Ifyouexperiencethistypeofproblemyoushouldtry
usinginexpensivebottledspringwater.
Never use water that has any additives such as starch, perfume or fabric conditioner. The
additives can affect the boiler, at high temperatures deposits can form and emit stains and
cause blockage of the steam vents.
2. Filling internal Water/Boiler Tank
Fill water tank while the Eurosteam® is unplugged and cool. Place your iron on a stable sur-
faceinhorizontalposition.Usingmeasuringcup(170cc),llyourwater/boilertank.Remove
thesafetycapoftheboiler.Insertthetubeofthemeasuringcupintotheholeandllthe
boiler. Place safety cap in position and tightened, by turning until it stops and then tighten
slightly without applying too much pressure to avoid breaking the O-ring. Plug the unit into a
power surge bar. Put the iron in a vertical position, if not on an ironing board iron holder or
heat resistant mat and wait for the indicator light to shut off.
Ifunitisoverlled,watermayleakand/orspurtfromtheironplateholesatthebeginningof
theironingsessionwhenyourstdepressthesteambutton.
At the end of every use be sure to drain the boiler by letting all steam out. Hold down the
steam button and wait until steaming has stopped, unplug and wait for unit to cool. Remove
safety cap using the provided cap remover and hold upside down to drain any remaining
water. Store in a safe place with safety cap off, allowing the boiler to breathe.
USING YOUR EUROSTEAM®
Water in your boiler? This is normal as each Eurosteam® Platinum com-
pact Iron is factory tested for quality purposes.
Beforeyouuseyourironfortheveryrsttimeyouwillneedtoprimetheunitto
ensure that your Eurosteam® iron is in optimal working order. You will only need
toperformthisprocedureonce,priortoitsrstuse.
Fillyourmeasuringcuptojustslightlybelowthemaxlineand,usingmeasuringcup,ll
your boiler tank. Screw on your safety cap with your cap remover. Plug unit in, and wait for
ready light to turn off. Direct the iron in a safe direction, then hold down the steam button
and continue holding the steam button to allow the full tank of steam to run out of iron. When
completed let unit cool completely.
