IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using this appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
1. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from the steam vents, check applian-
ce before each use by holding and facing it away from body and depress steam button
in a safe place.
2. Use appliance only for its intended use.
3. This appliance is intended for household and residential use only. This product is not
approved for commercial applications.
4. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other
liquids.
5. The appliance should always be turned off before plugging or unplugging from power
surge protected bar. Never yank the cord to disconnect from power surge protected bar,
instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
6.Alwaysdisconnectappliancefrompowersurgeprotectedbarwhenllingwithwateror
emptying when not in use.
7. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away.
Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
8. Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or
damaged.
9. If cord is damaged it must be replaced by manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualiedtechnicianinordertoavoidahazard.
10. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Take or ship to a
qualiedservicetechnicianforexaminationandrepair.Incorrectreassemblyorrepair

11. Not intended for use by children. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being
usednearchildren.Unsupervisedusecanresultinreorpersonalinjury.Donotleave
appliance unattended while plugged in, on an ironing board or while it is still hot.
12. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when
you turn a steam generator upside down as there may be hot water in the reservoir.
13. Never attempt to unscrew the boiler cap while the appliance is in use. The strong steam
pressure could result in burns. Only unscrew the cap when generator is cool or there is
no more pressure in the boiler.
14. Always use your cap remover to unscrew the safety cap.
15. Always release all steam from boiler by turning on full steam until steam stops.
16. Before operating this appliance be sure that the boiler screw cap is in place. An incor-
rectly or missing screw cap could easily allow the steam to emit and lead to scalding.

17. When placing the iron on the rubber heat resistant mat be sure that the surface on which
it will be placed is stable. Do not place the iron on the rubber heat resistant mat with
continuous steam option on.
18. Always put the iron with the sole plate down on the rubber heat resistant mat, never
resting on its heel.
19.Neverdroporinsertanyobjectintoanyopening(electricalorotherwise)anddonotuse
if one of the openings is blocked in any way.
20. Do not use outdoors.
21.Donotoperatewhereaerosol(spray)productsarebeingusedorwhereoxygenisbeing
administered.
22. Clean the appliance with only a dry or slightly damp cloth.
23.This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15 amperage cord should be used.
Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the
cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over unintentionally. To avoid a circuit
overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.

LIMITED WARRANTY
This product is warranted for 1 year from date of purchase against defects in materials and/or workmanship when
utilized for normal household use. During this period any model 6199, upon inspection by Certified Eurosteam® Service
Department, is proved defective it will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the Certified Technician.The unit
shall be returned, by the original purchaser, freight prepaid with proof of purchase date and $19.95 for return shipping/
packing charges included. This warranty does not apply to any defect arising from a buyers or users misuse, negligen-
ce, failure to follow Eurosteam® instructions, use on current or voltage other than that stamped on the model 6199 or
alteration or repair not authorized by Eurosteam®. Repair or disassembly by anyone other than a Certified Eurosteam®
Service Technicianwill void the warranty.

Obtain a repair authorization number (RA number) and bring in or send prepaid to the Service Center with proof of pur-

may also have other rights, which vary from state to state and province to province.

1. Water
The Eurosteam® Iron is designed to use regular tap water. Never use 100% distilled water
as this may lead to damage inside the boiler.
About Softened Water and Well Water
Many types of water contain naturally high levels of sodium, iron, mineral and organic mat-
ter. If these collect inside the boiler it can eventually appear as brown stains or can cause
yourEurosteam®tospitduringuse.Ifyouexperiencethistypeofproblemyoushouldtry
usinginexpensivebottledspringwater.
Never use water that has any additives such as starch, perfume or fabric conditioner. The
additives can affect the boiler, at high temperatures deposits can form and emit stains and
cause blockage of the steam vents.
2. Filling internal Water/Boiler Tank
Fill water tank while the Eurosteam® is unplugged and cool. Place your rubber mat on a
stablesurfacewiththeEurosteam®ontop.Usingmeasuringcup(210cc),llyourwater/
boiler tank. Remove the safety cap of the boiler. Insert the tube of the measuring cup into
theholeandlltheboiler.Placesafetycapinpositionandtightened,byturninguntilitstops
and then tighten slightly without applying too much pressure to avoid breaking the O-ring.
Ifunitisoverlledwatermayleakand/orspurtfromtheironplateatthebeginningofthe
ironing session.
At the end of every use be sure to drain the boiler by letting all steam out. Turn your steam
dialallthewayon(turn clockwise)andwaituntilsteaminghasstopped,poweroff,unplug
and wait for unit to cool. Remove safety cap and hold upside down to drain any remaining
water. Store in a safe place with safety cap off, allowing the boiler to breathe.
USING YOUR EUROSTEAM®
Water in your boiler? This is normal as each Eurosteam® NextGeneration
Iron is factory tested for quality purposes.
Beforeyouuseyourironfortheveryrsttimeyouwillneedtoprimetheunitto
ensure that your Eurosteam® iron is in optimal working order. You will only need
toperformthisprocedureonce,priortoitsrstuse.
Fillyourmeasuringcuptojustslightlybelowthemaxlineand,usingmeasuringcup,llyour
boiler tank. Screw on your safety cap with your cap remover and make sure that your steam
dialisturnedallthewayoff(turncounter clockwise).Plugunitin,switchonandwaitfor
readylighttoturnoff.Holdingironturnsteamdialallthewayon(turn clockwise).Keep
holding unit and allow full tank of steam to run out of iron. When completed let unit cool
completely.

3. On and Off
To turn on your Eurosteam® place the unit on top of the rubber mat, on a stable surface, be
surethatthesteamdialissetoff(turncounter clockwise)andplugintoapowersurgepro-
tection bar. Turn on the unit by switching the power switch to on, it will be illuminated when
on. When the power switch indicator light turns off the Eurosteam® is ready for use. The
indicator light will go on and off through out the ironing session, it indicates that the boiler is
constantlyheatingandpressurizingthewaterforoptimalperformanceandisnormal.
To turn off, switch power switch to off and the light will go out. Carefully grasp plug and remo-
ve from power surge protection bar. Allow iron to rest on the rubber mat on a stable surface
until completely cool. Remove safety cap and drain remaining water from boiler tank. Store
iron in a safe place with safety cap off.
4. Steam
The steam can be continuous or controlled. To control the steam and achieve the large
burstsofpressurizedsteamkeepthesteamdialoff(turnedcounter clockwise)andde-
press center steam button when a burst of steam is needed. We recommend that the iron be
used in this mode as you will use the least amount of water and get the most powerful steam.
For continuous steam turn the steam dial clockwise to obtain a constant and continuous
steam.Maximumintensityisobtainedwhenthesteamdialisfullyturnedon.Inthismode
your tank will empty quickly.
5. Filling the Tank while using the Iron
Ifyouneedtolltheboilerduringanironingsessionturnthepowerswitchtooff.Remove
the plug from the power surge protection bar and fully depress the steam button to let out all
residual steam. Slowly unscrew the safety cap, this is made easier with the use of the cap
remover. SLOWLY pour a small amount of water into the tank with the measuring cup, 2-3
times,andallowthesteamtocomeoutthellingtube,thenllboilerasusual.Screwthe
safety cap on tightly, insert plug into power surge protection bar and steam will commence in
ashorttime.Donotoverllthetank,itsmaximumcapacityisequaltotheMAXlevelofthe
measuringcup,210cc(justunder1cup).
We recommend that the following cleaning instructions be carried out every 2-3
months or if you notice any water drops leaking out of the soleplate of the Eurosteam.

and the boiler is under pressure. This could lead to burning and or scalding.

6. Cleaning
Soleplate
Before cleaning the iron be sure that the unit is disconnected from the power supply and that
the iron is completely cooled down. Do not use abrasives on the soleplate. Deposits and
other residues on the soleplate can be removed with a cloth soaked in a vinegar and water
solution.Keepthesoleplatesmoothbyavoidingcontactwithhardorabrasivesurfaces.
Boiler Tank
Usingyourmeasuringcuplltoslightlybelowmaxlinewith1/2vinegarand1/2water.Be
surethattankiscompletelyemptyandllwithvinegarandwatersolution.Placesafety
capontightly,besurethatsteamdialisinoffposition(turncounter clockwise)andplug
into a power surge protection bar. Turn on and let unit heat up until power switch indicator
light goes off. Turn off and unplug from power source, let sit for 10 minutes and then shake
vigorously. Let cool for another 10 minutes, depress and hold down the steam button until
no more steam comes out. Unscrew safety cap and empty tank contents. This may need to
be done several times depending on how long since the last cleaning and the type of water
used. To complete, rinse tank with clear water until vinegar odour dissipates.
CLEANING YOUR EUROSTEAM®
*For best ironing results use a mesh-type ironing board to allow
excess steam to escape.
*Always rest your Eurosteam®iron horizontal on the rubber mat
and never on its heel.
*Do not let soleplate contact anything that could scratch or damage the soleplate,
such as zippers or metal studs.

Why is my iron leaking water?
*Boiler has not been primed, see top of page 5 for instructions
*Power switch indicator light is on while pushing the steam button, wait for indicator light to
go out before ironing
*Theironmaybeoverlled,depresssteambuttonafewtimestosteamoutexcesswater
*Ensure the steam dial is turned all the way counter clockwise to the off position
*Iron safety cap may not be tight enough
*The iron is cooling down due to not using the iron immediately after the power switch indi-
catorlightshutsoff(AsasafetyfeaturetheEurosteam®willautomaticallydroptemperature
afterapproximately1-2minutesofnon-usage,holdingthesteambuttondownuntilthein-
dicator light comes on and wait for the power switch indicator light to shut off and it is once
againreadyforuseimmediately)
Why do I have to empty my iron after every use?
Youshouldemptyyourironaftereachuse.Thiswillensurethatwhenyouusetheironnext,
itwillnotbeoverlledandanyremainingwaterinsideyourironmaycalcifyinsidetheiron.
This will require you to clean your iron more frequently.
What water do I use to ll the iron?
Please refer to page 5 section 1
How do I get continuous (non stop) steam?
To make your iron steamcontinuously(nonstop),youwillhavetoturnthedialalltheway
clockwise totheright.Keepinmindthismethodisstrictlyoptionalandwillallowtheiron
to go through steam more quickly than non continuous steam mode. Please note: All of our
livedemonstrationsareusingthenoncontinuous/steamondemandsteammode.Wealso
recommend to use this setting to empty the internal boiler.
How do I get bursts of steam as demonstrated?
Toachieveburstsofsteamandextendthewaterinthetanksetyoursteamdialintheoff
position, turning counter clockwise. Depress the center steam button to release a burst of
pressurizedsteam.
Why does my iron run out of steam quickly?
Whenyouusetheirononcontinuoussteam,yourtankofwaterwilllastapproximately8-11
minutes.Wedosuggesttouseyoursteambuttononly,onnoncontinuous/steamonde-
mand.Twosecondsofdepressingthebuttonproducesfour(4)toeight(8)goodsecondsof
steamprojections.Bypressingthisbuttonintermittently(onceevery5-10seconds)thiswill
allowyoutogetjustasmuchsteamasifyourcontinuous/nonstopsteamison.Onceyou
have mastered this, you will never go back to any other iron!

How do I clean my iron?
See page 7 section 6
Why does the power switch indicator light come on while the iron is in use?
When the water inside the boiler begins to cool, the power switch indicator light will come on
indicating that the iron is heating. Once the water in the boiler reaches the optimal tempera-
ture, the power switch indicator light will shut off. It is very normal to see it repeating itself.
Especiallyifyouareironingformorethan10minutesatatime,justkeepironing.
Why does my iron loose pressure while steaming?
As you use the steam button or steam dial, the pressure within the boiler is decreasing. You
may notice your iron slightly losing pressure when you are priming the boiler. Or if the power
switch indicator light has come on, you may choose to allow your iron to rebuild the pressure
until the indicator light goes off.
Why is my iron heating, but not producing any steam?
*Adjustthesteamdialtothenoncontinuoussteam position and press the button
*Ensure that there is water inside the boiler
*Your iron may need to be cleaned. See page 7 section 6 for cleaning instructions
Why is steam leaking from the screw cap when I turn my iron on?
*O-ring may need to be replaced. Remove O-ring from base of safety cap and replace with
O-ring provided.
*The screw cap may not be on tight enough
*When the iron is left on non continuous steam mode without releasing the steam button re-
gularlyafterindicatorlampshutsoffforprolongedperiodsoftime(10minutesorlonger)the
iron’s built in safety feature will release the steam through the screw plug. We encourage
quilters and sewers to please press the steam button every 10 minutes or so when
not in use, this will ensure the iron to be ready when you are.

Why is my handle getting hot?
YourEurosteam®NextGenerationhandlewillgetfairlywarm,howeveritshouldneverbe-
come too hot to hold. Your iron’s handle may feel warm due long periods of on with no use,
leavingtheirontosteamcontinuouslyorsteamleakingfromthesafetycap(seeabove).

lisezjamaisd’eaudistilléeà100%carcelapeutendommagerl’intérieurdelachaudière.
Au sujet de l’eau adoucie et de l’eau de puits.
Plusieurstypes d’eaucontiennent desniveaux naturellement élevésde sodium,de fer,
de minéraux et de matière organique. Lorsque ceux-ci s’accumulent à l’intérieur de la
chaudière,ilspeuventapparaîtresousformedetachesbrunesoufaire«cracher»votre
EurosteamMD pendantsonutilisation.Sivousconstatezcetypedeproblème,vousdevriez
essayerd’utiliserdel’eaudesourceembouteilléebonmarché.
N’utilisezjamaisdel’eaucontenantdesadditifstelsquedel’empois,duparfumetdel’as-
souplissant.Cesadditifspeuventaffecterlachaudièreet,àhautetempérature,peuvent

2. Remplir le réservoir de la chaudière
Remplissezleréservoirpendantquel’EurosteamMD estdébranchéetfroid.Placezvotre
tapis en caoutchouc sur une surface stable et l’EurosteamMD dessus.Àl’aidedelatasseà
mesurer(max210cc),remplissezleréservoird’eauetdelachaudière.Retirerlecapuchon
desécuritédelachaudière.Introduireletuyaududoseurdansletrouetremplirlachau-

4. La vapeur
Lavapeurpeutêtrecontinueoucontrôlée.Pourcontrôlerlavapeuretproduiredegrosjets
devapeursouspression,gardezlecadrandevapeursurlaposition«arrêt»(tournédans
le sens inverse desaiguillesd’unemontre)etenfoncezleboutondevapeurducentre
lorsquevousavezbesoind’unjetdevapeur.Nousrecommandonsd’utiliserleferàrepasser
aveccemode,carilvouspermetd’utiliserlemoinsd’eauetd’obtenirlejetdevapeurleplus
puissant.Sivousdésirezunevapeurcontinue,tournezlecadrandevapeurdanslesens
desaiguillesd’unemontre.Pourobteniruneintensitémaximale,tournezlecadrandevapeur
complètementsurlapositionmaximale.Aveccemode,votreréservoirseviderarapidement.
5. Remplir le réservoir pendant que vous utilisez le fer à repasser
Sivousdevezremplirlachaudièrependantuneséancederepassage,mettezl’interrupteur
à« arrêt ».Retirez la chedu bloc multipriseavec protecteurdesurtension etenfoncez

Dévissezlentementlecapuchondesécurité(ledévisseurdecapuchonrougevousfacilitera
latâche).Versezunepetitequantitéd’eauLENTEMENTdansleréservoir,àl’aidedudoseur,
2ou3fois,etlaissezlavapeursortirdutubederemplissage,puisremplissezlachaudière
commevouslefaitesnormalement.Vissezfermementlecapuchondesécurité,insérezla
chedansleblocmultipriseavecprotecteurdesurtensionetlavapeurreprendradanspeu
detemps.Neremplissezpasleréservoiràsurcapacité;sacapacitémaximaleestégaleà
celledelatasseàmesurer,soitdelalignemaximum,210cc(toutjusteendeçàd’unetasse).
