Installation
1PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION 2CONNECTING TO A WATER INLET
□Pick a cold water supply pipe located as close as possible to the appliance.
Close the main water shutoff valve. Open a faucet located near the
installation to relieve pressure in the line.
□Connect one end of the Polyethylene tube (A) to water inlet valve located
on the back of the refrigerator. A brass stiffener (D) (provided) must be
placed inside the end of the tube so it can be attached via compression
tting (C) without being crushed and creating a leak. Insert one of
the small brass tube stiffeners (D) (provided) into the end of the line,
pressing it until the are on the stiffener touches the end of the plastic
tubing.

NOTE: The water valve connection will differ by type of refrigerator.
3POLYETHYLENE TUBE OR FLARE CONNECTION 4THREADED ELBOW CONNECTION
□Use 1/4 in. coupling union (C) (provided) to connect the water inlet valve
tube to the Polyethylene tubing (A). Check to ensure that the tube is
completely inserted into the union.
□Coil at least 8 ft. of tubing behind the refrigerator to allow the
refrigerator to be moved away from the wall for cleaning and servicing.
□Run tubing to the cold water line.
A
C
□Slide a compression nut (C) (provided) onto Polyethylene tubing (A). Next
slip the compression sleeve (C) (provided) on tubing. Check to see that
tubing is bottomed in the inlet valve. Tighten the nut on the valve. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN.
□Coil at least 8 ft. of tubing behind the refrigerator to allow the

Installation (continued)
5CONNECTING THE SADDLE VALVE 6CONNECTING THE SADDLE VALVE (CONTINUED)
□The top section of the clamp should be attached to the valve. Place the
rubber gasket around the saddle valve piercing pin. The gasket should t
perfectly onto the clamp curve.
□Back up the piercing pin all the way up by turning the saddle valve
handle counterclockwise.
B
□Attach one side of the bottom clamp to the saddle valve top clamp
with a bolt.
□Place the saddle valve on the cold water pipe. Position the valve so the
handle is accessible. Holding onto the top and bottom parts of the clamp
with one hand, install the second bolt with the other. Hand tighten both
bolts until the clamp rmly touches the pipe. Use a screwdriver for the
nal few turns. When the saddle valve rubber gasket is slightly
compressed, stop turning. Make sure to tighten both clamp bolts
evenly.

7CONNECTING THE SADDLE VALVE (CONTINUED)
□Install 1/4" Polyethylene tubing into compression tting on the saddle valve.
First slide the compression nut (C) (provided) then slip the compression
sleeve on the tubing. Insert tubing into the saddle valve. Check that
tubing is bottomed in the valve. Tighten the compression nut the on
valve. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
□Turn the valve handle clockwise. You wil feel some resistance when
penetrating the pipe wall, continue past this moment until the handle
cannot be turned anymore. This is the “closed” position of the saddle
valve.
□Open the main water shutoff valve.
□Turn water on and check for leaks.
