How to Power up Hikvision IP Camera through IP Sidekick?
To connect and power-up your IP camera through IP Sidekick:
1. Turn on the Power Switch of IP Sidekick. The Power Indicators will light in blue to indicate
the power capacity of the IP Sidekick.
2. Connect the PoE cable of your IP camera to the PoE/Ethernet port on IP Sidekick.
Note: If you are using a DC-powered IP camera, connect the power cable of your IP
camera to the DC Output on IP Sidekick and then connect the Network cable of your IP
camera to the PoE/Ethernet port on IP Sidekick.

How to Connect Hikvision IP Camera to IP Sidekick?
The Hikvision IP camera is set with a factory default static IP address of “192.0.0.64” and the
port of “8000”, so please follow the steps below to set up an IP address of your smart phone in
order to connect your smart phone and the IP camera on the same wireless network.
1. Turn on Wi-Fi of your smart phone and then tap EverFocus_Sidekick to connect to the Wi-Fi
network of Sidekick. The default password is 11111111.
For iOS device For Android device
2. Set up a static IP for your smart phone in order to connect your smart phone and the IP
camera on the same wireless network.
For iOS users:
a. Go to Setting > Wi-Fi.
b. Tap Static to set up a static IP address.
c. Tap Wi-Fi to save the settings.
Keep the first 3 numbers of the IP address the same
with those of your IP camera. The Default static IP
of Hikvision IP camera is 192.0.0.64, set up the
static IP of your smart phone to 192.0.0.xxx
You should only change the last number “xxx”.
Make sure the address you pick is not currently in
use by other devices on the WiFi network.
Otherwise, it will cause a conflict.

For Android users:
a. Go to Setting > Wi-Fi.
b. Tap and hold the EverFocus_Sidekick Wi-Fi network and then tap Modify Network.
c. Check Show advanced options, select Static from the IP settings drop-down list and
then set up a static IP address.
Keep the first 3 numbers of the IP address the same
with those of your IP camera. The Default static IP
of Hikvision IP camera is 192.0.0.64, set up the
static IP of your smart phone to 192.0.0.xxx
You should only change the last number “xxx”.
Make sure the address you pick is not currently in
use by other devices on the WiFi network.
Otherwise, it will cause a conflict.
d. Tap Save to save the settings.

How to Connect Hikvision IP Camera (configured with DHCP) to IP
Sidekick?
The default network communication protocol of Hikvision IP camera is configured with Static IP.
If you change the IP camera setting to DHCP, you will need a tool to find the IP camera’s IP
address because Hikvision Apps (iVMS-4500) and (iVMS-4500 HD) are not able to
search the IP camera’s IP address.
To get the camera’s IP address, you can use either one of the two tools below:
A. Use EverFocus EF Sidekick App on smart-phone or tablet (only available for Android
version at present).
B. Use Hikvision SADP (Search Active Devices Protocol) search tool on PC.
A. EF Sidekick (Android only)
1. Install EF Sidekick on your smart phone or tablet, please go to Android Market and search
EF Sidekick.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi of your smart phone and then tap EverFocus_Sidekick to connect to the
Wi-Fi network of Sidekick. The default password is 11111111.
For iOS device For Android device

3. Launch EF Sidekick, tap Client Device Info on the main page, and you can see the IP
address of the IP camera. (Please note that the EF Sidekick app is able to detect and
display all the IP addresses of the IP devices connected in the Wi-Fi network of Sidekick)
4. Now, you will be able to use iVMS-4500 /iVMS-4500 HD to access to the IP camera, please
refer to How to Access to Hikvision IP Camera Live View Using Its App?

B: SADP (Search Active Devices Protocol)
1. Click here to download Hikvision SADP search tool on PC.
2. Log in the computer as the administrator, and double-click to launch the software
as the figure below. It will automatically search the online devices every 15 minutes from
the same subnet of your PC. It will display the information of the searched IP devices
including the device type, IP address, port number, gateway, and others.
3. You can also click to refresh the searched list.
4. Now, you will be able to use iVMS-4500 /iVMS-4500 HD to access to the IP camera, please
refer to How to Access to Hikvision IP Camera Live View Using Its App?

How to Access to Hikvision IP Camera Live View Using Its App?
1. Download the Hikvision App (iVMS-4500) for smart phone/ (iVMS-4500 HD)
for tablet and open it. (Please note that the instructions below are using iVMS-4500).
2. Tap the Menu icon and then tap the Device button.

3. Tap the Add icon to add the IP camera.
4. Select the IP/Domain Register Mode and enter the default static IP address of “192.0.0.64”.
Tap the Save button.

5. When the Start Live View button appears, tap it to see the IP camera’s live view
