5. Components of the Excel Click & Go Compact II and the Excel
Click & Go Professional II
In this chapter the dierent components of the Excel Click & Go Compact II and Excel Click & Go Professional II are
described. On the push propulsion are a number of components present which are adjustable. If you want to add
or remove any of its components, make any adjustments or replace components, you should always follow the
instructions described in this user manual.
5.1 The push handles
The push handles of your Excel Click & Go Compact II and the Excel Click & Go Professional II are ergonomically
designed. On photo 2 you see the push handle of the Excel Click & Go Professional II and on photo 3 you see the
push handle of the Click & Go Compact II. Because the push handles are ergonomically designed, your attendant
has a good grip on the push handles. As a result, pushing the push propulsion by your attendant is not only more
comfortable, but the push propulsion and the wheelchair can also be pushed safer. The push handles of both push
propulsions are height adjustable (see paragraph 5.4).
5.2 The control panel
The control of both the Excel Click & Go Compact II and the Excel Click & Go Professional II is going through a
control box (photo 4) and a throttle (photo 5). The control panel on the Excel Click & Go Professional II is standard
placed on the push handle of the push propulsion. At the Excel Click & Go Compact II the control panel is placed
on the push handles of the wheelchair. You can use the control panel on both the left and the right side of the
wheelchair, depending on your own preference.

With the red button on the left on the control box, you can turn the push propulsion on and o. With the black
button on the right on the control box, you can set the support of the push propulsion in forward (F) and in reverse
(R) motion. If the push propulsion is turned on the LED lights below the word ‘Status’ turn green. At the top of the
control panel is shown how full the battery of the push propulsion is. Finally, you can at the bottom of the control
panel, adjust the speed of the push propulsion.
5.3 The wheels
On the push propulsion are driving wheels and front wheels attached. These should be checked regularly for wear.
By checking the wheels for wear, prevents the push propulsion provides less support to propel the person in the
wheelchair.
5.3.1 The front wheels
The front wheels (photo 6) of the push propulsion have the function to conrm the push propulsion properly to the
wheelchair. By driving the push propulsion in the right place for the attachment point on the wheelchair, you can
easily x the push propulsion to the frame of the wheelchair.
5.3.2 The driving wheels
The driving wheels of the push propulsion are 200 x 50 mm (photo 7). The driving wheels are less prone to leak and
have a good prole. In that way, the push propulsion can provice the right support on dierent surfaces.

5.4 The height adjustment
Both push handles, of the Excel Click & Go Compact II and the Excel Click & Go Professional II are height adjustable.
On photo 8 the height adjustment of the Excel Click & Go Professional II is shown. On photo 9 the height of the
Excel Click & Go Compact II is shown. The push handle of Excel Click & Go Compact II can be height adjusted at
two dierent places. Also, the angle of the push handle of Excel Click & Go Compact II is adjustable (photo 10). This
makes controlling the push propulsion even better.
5.5 The battery
The battery (photo 11) of the push propulsion is detachable. Beneath the handle where the battery can be grasped,
is a button which says ‘Push’. By pushing this button (photo 12), the battery can be taken out (photo 13). The Excel
Click & Go without the battery is displayed on photo 14. It is possible to charge the battery wherever you want. The
charging point is on the battery itself. Because the battery is removable, the battery can be recharged for example
in house. If both the red and the orange and the green LED lights are visible the battery is fully charged. If the red
and the orange LED lights are visible, the battery is charged half full. When the red LED light are visable the battery
need to be charged.
Warning

5.6 Attaching and taking o the push propulsion
The push propulsion is attached to the frame of the wheelchair. It is important that this attachment is carried out
in the right way. When the push propulsion is not properly secured, it will not function properly and it may be
dangerous.
5.6.1 Attaching the push propulsion
To attach the push propulsion to a wheelchair, rst place the push propulsion right behind the wheelchair, as
shown photo 15. Photo 16 shows the attachment point on the wheelchair. This concerns the outstanding points.
The attachment point of the push propulsion (photo 17) must be pushed onto the attachment point of the
wheelchair. Ultimately, the situation as shown in photo 18 is the situation in which the push propulsion is correctly
attached to the wheelchair. Photo 15 to photo 18 shows the attachment of the Excel Click & Go Professional II.

6 Maintenance
Your Excel Click & Go Compact II or Excel Click & Go Professional II needs periodical maintenance. This is necessary
for long and optimum comfort for the user of the push propulsion. A badly maintained push propulsion will give
more technical problems, turn less exible and it won’t be covered by the warranty. Preventive maintenance is very
important. We advise you to check, at least once a year, your push propulsion by a qualied Van Os Medical dealer.
This dealer will, where necessary, using only Excel replacement parts. This annual inspection will make sure your
push propulsion will work perfect for years.
There are a lot of things you can do yourself to keep your Excel Click & Go Compact II or Excel Click & Go
Professional II in optimum condition. If you regularly check the push propulsion and perform (small) maintenance,
this will extend the lifetime and increase the ease of use. In the following paragraphs this maintenance is further
described.
6.1 The tires
You should check the tires of the push propulsion for wear regularly. If the wear is at an advanced stage, you will
have to replace the tires. Check the tires for the following points:
• Check of the tires do not stuck;
• Check of there is slack on the tires. If this is the case, it is common that the housing of the tires is loose.
6.1.1 Air tires
The air tires should be checked weekly for ination. The correct tire pressure is 36PSI / 2.5 BAR. You can measure
the voltage of the tires themselves witn a common voltage meter. If the pressure is not properly set, the push
propulsion will lean. This results in a faster worn on the tires. The push propulsion drives less easy and the progress
is much heavier.
6.1.2 PU tires
More and more we use PU tyres (polyurethane or puncture-free tyres) on the push propulsion. You can recognise
these tyres because they do not have a valve. These tyres have the advantage that they do not need to be pumped
up and can not be punctured. This PU tyre can just as an air tyre wear out. Check periodically to see if the tread is
still deep enough.
6.2 Cleaning of the push propulsion
Cleaning your push propulsion is important and should be done regularly. You can get your push propulsion best
cleaned as described below.
• Clean the upholstery, chassis and plastic components on the push propulsion regularly with a mild soap and
water. Never use abrasive cleaners, they can damage the varnish. Also, never use steam or high pressure
cleaners;
• Wax the varnish of the chassis regularly. Never use solvents, abrasive waxes, caustic chemicals or spray
silicone;
• Dry the push propulsion after cleaning. Also dry you push propulsion after you have used it, for example,
during rain.

6.3 Battery
For maxium performance and maximum battery life of the push propulsion, you need to charge your batteries after
using. On that way, the batteries are recharged regularly, this is better for the batteries. When charging, it is also
advisable to fully charge the batteries for a new use of the push propulsion.
6.4 Service checklist
To maximize the liteme of your push propulsion, we recommend you to get your push propulsion checked, at least
