*You may want to run this 2, 3, or even 4 times to purge the system of any particles. (This is a
good practice to perform if you’ve been in an especially-dirty environment and before sampling
your next location.) If you are having trouble getting your counts back to zero, you may have to
go back and change the Sample Cycle to 10 and run the meter multiple times with this Sample
Cycle setting (see Pg. 15 of the Extech User Manual for details). *REMEMBER: If you change
the Sample Cycle to 10 to purge/clean, be sure to change it back to 1 for your next IAQ test!
NOTE: Your Extech VPC300 needs to be calibrated annually. You must fill out a form and request a
Return Authorization #. Visit Extech’s website (http://www.extech.com/) and click on “Repair and
Calibration” under “SERVICE & SUPPORT” in the bottom right hand corner. It takes roughly 15-
20 days to get your device back once you send it in for recalibration. For assistance, you can also
contact Customer Support at (877) 239-8324, Option 2 (9am –5pm Eastern Time).
One last thing to mention:
Your Extech comes with PC software and a USB cable “to connect to and communicate with a PC.”
