- Oil should be on a non-stick silicone mat placed at bottom of the Kettle.
- Plug the kettle into the EtOH Pro, verify the machine is turned on via the switch in the rear and that the dial
is set to Purge Mode.
- Attach the vacuum tubing to the Barbed Fitting. Attach the other end of the tubing to the vacuum pump.
- Place the lid on the Kettle and press the green Start button on the EtOH Pro to start Purge Mode.
- Make sure the Vacuum Valve is in open position and the Vent Valve is in the closed position.
- Turn on the Vacuum Pump and keep it running until you reach the maximum vacuum your pump will allow.
(Make note of the maximum vacuum level for future reference.)
- Close the Vacuum Valve. Turn off the Vacuum Pump.
- After a couple of minutes verify the Kettle is warming up by feeling the base of the Kettle.
- Note: The base of the kettle will never be hot to the touch.
- If the base of the kettle does not feel warm see the steps in the Troubleshooting section.
- Appropriate vacuum purge time and vacuum level varies on a wide range of factors. Experiment for your
best results.
- As vacuum level drops, you can open vacuum valve, pull additional vacuum again by turning on the pump,
then close valve and turn off pump.
- When the vacuum level no longer drops after an extended time your purge is completed.
- Open the Vent Valve, then Vacuum Valve, and remove the Purge Lid.
