Installation and operation of the Eye Trax Ranger series cellular security camera system does not
require professional installation services. The following User Guide contains detailed instructions
on the web and mobile-based camera software called the User Interface along with procedures for
receiving and installing the outdoor surveillance camera system. The cellular data service for the
cellular surveillance camera is pre-provisioned at the Eye Trax manufacturing facility accompanied
by a User Name and Password to access the controls for the remote webcam system. If there are
any questions regarding the User Name and Password or if the cellular service has been stopped
for any amount of time please call technical support (800) 594-4157.
The Purchaser of the camera system was emailed the User Name and Password to access the
User Interface and is the Administrator on the account. http://www.eyetrax.net/
The cellular provisioning was pre-configured based on the initial “deploy location” of the camera
during time of purchase. If the camera is going to be relocated far away from the initial “deploy
location” please call (800) 594-4157 x2 or email tech support to verify cellular coverage.
***Be sure to read the entire User Guide prior to operating the motion activated camera
system and deploying it. There are very important steps to complete in efforts to verify
functionality and proper communication with local cellular tower.***

Determine Camera Target
Determine the target or center point of camera’s focus point. If using the Motion Sensor for
security camera purposes note that it has an effective distance of 50 ft. in front of viewing area.
Identify Mounting Location
The standard lens installed on the camera is a 3.6mm lens which has 90°angle of view. To
view a desired object or area in the field of view, measure the width and divide by two to
determine the distance from center point of the object to mount the camera.
Camera Installation

@ Eye Trax, Inc All Rights Reserved Page 18 of 27
License Plate Camera
In order to use the camera as a License Plate Capture camera the internal lens will have to be a
12mm lens with a viewing angle of 32°.If the camera was not pre-ordered with the 12mm lens,
it will have to be retrofitted at the Eye Trax facility.
NOTE: The assumed length of vehicle in diagram is 25 ft. In order for the motion sensor
to trigger upon presence of a vehicle it must be traveling less than 3mph or come to a
complete stop. A vehicle traveling faster than 3mph will not trigger the motion sensor to
acquire pictures.
Motion Detection Distance
If utilizing the motion detector of the camera for security purposes verify the camera is mounted
in a location that will work accurately. The motion detection coverage area is 50ft in front of the
camera and 75 ft. wide at a distance of 50 ft. The recommended mounting height to maximize
the effective area of the motion sensor is 12 ft. and should not exceed 15 ft.
NOTE: Radio frequency (RF) signals may cause the motion sensor to create a false
trigger. Verify that the motion sensor is not pointed in the direction of possible RF
interference.

Determine Mounting Options
Once the mounting location has been determined for the camera, look for a suitable mounting
surface including existing poles, trees, and building exteriors. If there is not a suitable location to
mount the camera, Eye Trax offers two solutions for ease of installation and camera
performance. See “Barrel Mounting Pole” and “Modular Mounting Pole” for options.
NOTE: The solar panel requires at least 6 hours of direct unobstructed sun exposure to
keep system running operating. If needed, the solar panel can be installed 100 ft. away
from the camera for proper sun exposure. Eye Trax offers extension wires in 50 ft.
