DESCRIPTION
The 540 and 541 automated systems are ideal for activating
balancedindustrialsectional doors.
Theyconsistof anelectro-mechanicaloperatorand on-boardor
remote electronic control equipment. The non-reversing system
ensures mechanical locking of the door when the motor is not
operatingand, therefore,nolockneeds tobeinstalled.Operator
release and a manual manoeuvring system (the latter is only
supplied on the models for which it is specified), make the door
manoeuvrableinthe eventofapower cutormalfunction.
The door is normally closed; when opening is commanded, the
equipment activates the electric motor which drives the door to
opening position to permit access. In “dead-man”systems, the
commandpush-buttonmustbekeptpressedforthewholeduration
oftheopeningorclosingmanoeuvre.
Inthe automaticallyoperatingsystems:
•If the automatic logic was set, the door closes after pause time
has elapsed.
•Ifthe semi-automaticlogicwas set,asecondpulsemustbesent
toclose thedoor.
•Astoppulse (ifsupplied)alwaysstopsmovement.
For full details on the behaviour of the automated system in the
differentlogics,consultthe installationTechnician.
Automatedsystemsmay includesafetydevices(sensitive edges,
photocells) that prevent the door from closing and/or opening
when there is an obstacle in the area they protect. Emergency
manualopening ispossiblebyusingthe releasesystem.
Manual command is possible by activating the chain-operated
winch(formodels withwhichitissupplied).
Electric command is disabled during the manual manoeuvre or
whenthe operatorisreleased.
Thewarning-light,wheresupplied,indicatesthatthedooriscurrently
moving.
MANUAL OPERATION (540 and 541 with winch)
If the door has to be activated and the automated system is
inactiveduetoapower-cutormalfunction,thedooropeningand
closing manoeuvres can be done by hand, by using the chain-
operatedwinch. Checktheindicatorsign toseewhichbranchof

Pulldownwardonly the branch involved.
Ifnoindicatorsignispresent,pulloneofthechainbrancheswithout

Ifnot,activate the other branch.
While the winch is operating, the operator’s electrical control is
disabled.
RELEASINGTHEOPERATORANDRESTORINGAUTOMATIC
OPERATION
The540and541operatorsareprovidedwithanemergencysystem
whichcanbe activated from theinside.
The operator release operation must be effected with the door
closedif possible. In any event, the presenceof persons, animals
andobjects intheimmediatevicinityof theoperatorisabsolutely
forbidden.
If the door has to be moved manually due to a power cut or
malfunctionoftheautomatedsystem,cutoutpowertothesystem
and use the release device as follows: release the operator by
pulling the rope with the red knob (see figure 1) downward until
the lever reaches the travel-limit stop. To restore automatic
operation, fully close the door and pull the rope with the green
knobuntilthe lever returnstoitsoriginalposition.
