Important safety instructions! Please read before connection!
DANGER! (Electrical shock due to high voltages in the device)
The housing must not be removed! There are no parts to be maintained in the device.
Inside the unit there are components which are under high electrical voltage.
Before each use, check the device for damage or the absence of components, protective
devices or housing parts. If this is the case, the device must not be used!
Leave maintenance and repair work to a qualified service workshop or contact your
dealer. In the case of a malfunction of the device, operation must also be stopped
immediately until the device has been repaired by a specialist!
DANGER! (Electric shock due to short circuit)
Modifications to the power cord or plug are prohibited. If the power cord is damaged in any
way, it must be replaced immediately with an original spare part from the manufacturer.
Always make sure that the grounding of the device is maintained. Use only the supplied
power cords and always maintain the side grounded contacts. Make sure that the sockets
used have a properly functioning protective earth.
Failure to do so may result in fire or death due to electric shock!
DANGER! (For babies and children)
Dispose of or store any packaging material properly! Packaging material must be kept out
of the reach of babies and children due to the risk of suffocation.
Ensure that children never use the appliance unattended! In addition, make sure that
children do not remove (small) parts from the device, as they could suffocate by swallowing
parts!
Hint! (Fire hazard due to overheating)
The maximum permissible ambient temperature of this device is 40°C.
Ensure that the unit is placed in a well-ventilated location away from direct heat sources,
naked flames, combustible materials, and liquids. A minimum distance of 1 m is required.
Do not tape or cover the ventilation slots of the unit, or insert objects into the unit.
Hint! (Operating conditions)
In advance, it must be clarified with the manufacturer whether the device is also suitable
for indoor use. (PI20)
Never expose the device to direct rain, moisture or liquids, as this can lead to damage.
Vibrations, dust or sunlight can also cause damage, avoid them!

Hint! (Condensation)
To avoid condensation in the unit, the unit should adapt to the ambient temperature
before commissioning.
Hint! (Unwanted odours)
A new product can sometimes lead to unwanted odours. This reaction is normal and
disappears after a few minutes.
Hint! (Damage to the loudspeaker membrane due to feedback)
Avoid feedback by keeping the microphone away from activated loudspeakers that are
used to listen to the signal at the same time. If necessary, switch off the loudspeakers
completely.
Hint! (Sensitive microphone capsule)
To avoid damage to the microphone capsule - never open the basket of the microphone!
Hint! (Sound pressure level/noise level interval)
Observe the specified sound pressure level/noise level interval to prevent destruction of
the diaphragm caused by extreme levels.
Symbols on device and packaging:
The lightning flash symbol warns the user of uninsulated voltages and the risk of
electric shock.
The exclamation mark symbol draws the user’s attention to important maintains and
operating instructions in the manual.
The lightning warns you of dangerous voltage accessible from the outside. A connection
to any terminal marked with this symbol may only be made with a ready-made cable
that complies with the manufacturer's recommendations or with cables installed by
qualified personnel.

Installation:
Be sure to check the device for damage before use. Use the original packaging or a suitable
transport or storage packaging to protect the product optimally from influences such as dust,
moisture, etc. when not in use.
Equipment and use:
This dynamic microphone has a three-pin XLR connector and is supplied with a suitable holder.
Due to its characteristics the FAME Audio MS Pro 38D-S is used for vocal and speech pickup.
Set up:
All connections of the device should be made before switching on. Only use high-quality and
undamaged cables that are as short as possible for the connections.

Polar characteristics:
Microphones have one or more directional characteristics to achieve better results in recording
sound, depending on the application. Sound arriving at the basket and capsule from certain
angles can be cancelled, attenuated or not affected at all. How strong or weak these effects are
depends on the microphone. The main characteristics include omnidirectional, figure-of-eight and
club, while the cardioid, wide cardioid, supercardioid and hypercardioid characteristics are a
mixed form.
Example application 1: Ball
Since the omnidirectional characteristic has no cancellations due to the design of the microphone,
sound from all directions can be picked up almost equally.
Example application 2: Kidney
Sound hitting the rear of the cardioid is cancelled/attenuated in the cardioid characteristic. The
focus here is on the direct signal.
Example Application 3: Eight
The figure of eight is suitable for duet recordings in which the singer/speaker are facing each
other. Side-impacting sound is attenuated/eliminated so that only direct sound is recorded.

FAME Audio MS Pro 38D-S - Hypercardioid characteristic::
The FAME Audio MS Pro 38D-S is characterized by its hypercardioid polar pattern, which offers a
narrow recording angle and a higher shielding against ambient noise, but does not suppress rear
sound as much as the cardioid pattern, so it is important to pay attention to the correct
placement of stage monitors.
Due to its acoustic characteristics, it is suitable for picking up individual sound sources that are to
be recorded in noisy environments, especially for picking up vocals and speech.

Troubleshooting:
No Sound
Check the cable for damage (cuts, extreme kinks,
etc.) and replace it if necessary.
Check the wiring. Plugs must be fully inserted and
locked in place!
Check that the 48V phantom power on the
console/interface is switched on.
Check the preamplifier setting on the
console/interface/etc.
Delayed Sound
Change the buffer size in the DAW settings. The
lower the number, the lower the latency. (Note:
with a low buffer size, the computer needs more
power. Depending on the computer, this can lead
to higher performance losses). For more
information, please refer to the manual of the
respective digital audio workstation.

Hint! (Adjustable characteristics)
When taking pictures, pay attention to the adjustable characteristics and read the
instructions in the manual.
The adjustable low-cut filter also leads to a different recording result, as sub-bass
frequencies are filtered out.

Cleaning:
Regular cleaning of the device from impurities and dust increases the durability of the product.
Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning! Never clean the
appliance wet! A dry microfibre cloth is best.
Ventilation grilles and openings should always be kept free of dust and dirt. Suitable compressed
air sprays are recommended for this application.
