Frontman 25R Owner's Manual
Your new Frontman™25R has been designed by the
same Fender®Tone-Team that has created many
other classic Fender amps like the ToneMaster®,
Prosonic™, Princeton®Chorus and Twin Reverb®to
name a few. Moreover, it’s crafted in the same
tradition and given the same care and attention to
detail as our classic ‘59 Bassman and the versatile
Hot Rod Series.
Solidly built and affordably priced, the Frontman 25R
is a great amp by any measure. Because of its
illustrious family tree, your new Two Tone Tommy is
capable of a lot more than meets the eye.
Featuring convenient all front panel mounted controls
and jacks, the Frontman™25R also offers remote
channel switching via the optional footswitch.
Furthermore with output jacks for both an 8Ω
external speaker enclosure and headphones, your
Frontman™25R has the flexibility of volume levels for
everything from private practicing to small gigs.
Please read through this manual. Check out the
sound settings and experiment. Spin the tone
controls and see what happens. Take the time to get
to know each other... Tune-up, Plug-in and PLAY-ON.

Frontman 25R Front Panel Functions
A. INPUT - Plug your guitar in here.
B. VOLUME - Adjusts the overall loudness of the
NORMAL CHANNEL.
C. GAIN - Adjusts the amount of preamp gain in the
DRIVE CHANNEL. Cleaner sound is achieved at lower
gain settings; high gain settings will produce more
sustain and distortion. This control works in
conjunction with the DRIVE VOLUME control (item E) to
set the overall loudness of the DRIVE CHANNEL.
D. GAIN SELECT - Activates the DRIVE CHANNEL.
E. DRIVE VOLUME - Indicates the DRIVE CHANNEL is
selected.
F. DRIVE CHANNEL INDICATOR - Adjusts the
overall loudness of the DRIVE CHANNEL.
G. TREBLE - Adjusts the amount of boost or cut in
the high frequency range.
H. MID - Adjusts the overall tone quality without
affecting the signal level. High MID settings will
provide emphasis in the midrange frequencies
whereas a lower setting will notch the midrange.
I. BASS - Adjusts the amount of boost or cut in the
low frequency range.
J. REVERB - Adjusts the amount of reverb present
in both the NORMAL and DRIVE CHANNELS.
K. FOOTSWITCH - This jack provides an input
connection for the optional remote footswitch to
select between the NORMAL and DRIVE CHANNELS. For
proper operation of the footswitch, the GAIN
SELECT switch (item D) should be in the out position.
L. EXTERNAL SPEAKER - This jack provides an
output to an external speaker enclosure. The
enclosure must have a minimum impedance of 8Ω.
Using this jack automatically disables the internal
speaker. DO NOT PLUG HEADPHONES IN HERE.
M. HEADPHONES - This jack provides an output to
a standard stereo or mono pair of headphones for
private listening. Using this jack automatically
disables the speaker. This jack can also be used as
an unbalanced line output by using either a stereo or
mono 1/4" phone plug connection. CAUTION:
PROLONGED LISTENING AT HIGH LEVELS MAY BE HAZARDOUS
TO YOUR HEARING AND POSSIBLY CAUSE HEARING DAMAGE.
N. POWER INDICATOR - Indicates the Frontman
25R is receiving AC power.
O. POWER SWITCH - This switch turns the AC
power ON and OFF. When the switch is OFF, the
amplifier is completely shut down.
LINE CORD - This amplifier is equipped with a
grounding type supply cord to reduce the possibility
of shock hazard. Be sure to connect it to a grounded
receptacle. DO NOT ALTER THE AC PLUG.
