2 HEATER DESCRIPTION
2.1 General description
The Electric radiant infrared heaters are equipped with an incandescent bulb with a power
of 1300 W for Art. R609A and 2000 W for Art. R610A. The bulbs are to be mounted inside the
lamp holder, with care taken not to touch the bulb with your hands. The heater is
equipped with an adjustable bracket to install on the tripod supplied. At the back there is the
electrical circuit on which the plate is attached and where the power cord exits.

2.3 Intended use
Articles R609A and R610A have an adjustable tripod.
The protection system (grille) does not guarantee full protection for children or the
infirm.
The device can not be mounted on flammable surfaces or near them .
No object must be located any closer than 1 m from the 1300 W model (art. R609A) and any
closer than 1.5 m from the 2000 W model (art. R610A).

2.5 Electrical safety devices
The heater has an IP 20 degree of protection, meaning that only minimum protection against
direct contact is guaranteed.
In addition, the device is equipped with a plug with a
grounding conductor, according to insulation class I. It must
therefore be connected to an electrical system with an
automatic power disconnection system, which is coordinated
with the device, in the event of failure.
Inside the appliance there is an automatic power
disconnection device that intervenes when the appliance
undergoes excessive tilting or falls over.

3 IMPROPER USE AND CONTRAINDICATIONS
IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO:
Allow the heater to be used by untrained personnel and those who have not read the
instruction manual.
Use the heater for different purposes and uses other than those for which it was
designed.
Supply the heater with electrical power that is different from that envisaged, leading to
the electrical overloading of the appliance.
Leave the heater unattended in the presence of children and disabled persons.
Use the heater in a continuous and prolonged way, resulting in the overheating of the
device.
Install and use the heater in humid or damp conditions, explosive or corrosive
atmospheres or near flammable surfaces or gases.
Install and use the heater outdoors, exposed to the weather and sunlight.
Attach the heater to electrical or supporting wires of insufficient strength to support its
weight.
Attach the heater to flammable surfaces.
Perform maintenance on the heater without disconnecting the power supply.
Modify and/or tamper with the bulb.

4 COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION
The heater does not require any special commissioning actions, it is supplied assembled and
ready to use. Articles R609A and R610A should be mounted on the tripod supplied. All the
heaters must be installed according to the dimensions given in Figure 4: at least 50 mm from
the ceiling and the wall, with a minimum inclination of 60°, a lower angle with respect to the
vertical will cause the internal safety device to intervene by automatically shutting off the
unit.
Connect the plug to a grounded 16A / 230V mains socket. Before using the heater it will be
necessary to mount the bulb. See the maintenance section for detailed information.
Figure 4 – Positioning the heater.
Use of timers
Do not use the heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that automatically turns
the heater on, as there is a risk of fire if the appliance is covered or positioned incorrectly.

5 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Disconnect the electrical power
Always unplug the heater from the power supply before performing maintenance on the
device.
Do not disassemble any part of the heater while it is powered and until it has cooled
down!
The purpose of this chapter is to provide all the information on maintenance procedures and
the frequency required for the Electric radiant infrared heater.

1. General visual inspection X
2. Check that plates are clearly visible and legible X
3. Check the flexible electrical cable X
4. General cleaning X
5. Replacement of the bulb If necessary
1. General visual inspection: check the overall condition of the device, particularly the
bulb housing, the protection grille, support, etc., to establish if there are any damaged
or missing parts.
2. Check that plates are clearly visible and legible: the plate on the device must be
perfectly visible and legible. It is therefore necessary to keep it clean and ask for a
replacement if it is illegible.
3. Check the flexible electrical cable: regularly check the efficiency and the state of
conservation of the power cord. Check that there are no points which are not isolated
and that everything works properly. Check if there are signs of damage or ageing.
If it is not in good condition do not use the heater but have it repaired by Technical
Support personnel.
4. General cleaning: cleaning is necessary to free the handle or screen from the
accumulation of dust or dirt.
Cleaning
The heater is made of plastic materials. Applying organic solvents (such as benzene), or
other chemicals for cleaning may cause deformation or discolouration.
Clean the device gently, using a soft dry cloth.

5. Restoring the infrared bulb: if the bulb no longer becomes incandescent, and less heat
is produced than that required, it must be replaced.
To do this it is necessary to:
disconnect the heater from the power supply;
remove the 4 screws in the grille housing (Figure 5);
Figure 5 – Removing the lower dividing plate.
Replacement of the bulb
ALWAYS wait for the protection grille and the bulb to become cool before replacing.
ALWAYS use work gloves, the sheet metal parts may cause injury to your hands.
Hold the bulb on one side and then the
other, and extract it from its support (
Figure 6);
Use an equivalent bulb;
Figure 6 – Removing the bulb.
Precautions with the bulb
Always wear fabric gloves to handle the new bulb, do not touch it with bare hands, grease
from hands can prevent the uniform distribution of heat causing premature failure of the bulb
itself.
