3 Safety warnings
3.1 General power tool safety warnings
WARNING! Read all safety warnings, in
structions, illustrations and specifica
tions provided with this power tool. Failure to
follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future
reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to
your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1 WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Clut
tered or dark areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
d. Never leave the power tool unattended.
Only leave the power tool when the tool in
use has come to a complete standstill.
2 ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of
electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radia
tors, ranges and refrigerators. There is an
increased risk of electric shock if your body
is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord
for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,
sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of elec
tric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors,
use an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp loca
tion is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an
RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3 PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and
use common sense when operating a pow
er tool. Do not use a power tool while you
are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication. A moment of inat
tention while operating power tools may re
sult in serious personal injury.
b. Use personal protective equipment. Al
ways wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
c. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
switch is in the off-position before con
necting to power source and/or battery
pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Car
rying power tools with your finger on the
switch or energising power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench be
fore turning the power tool on. A wrench
or a key left attached to a rotating part of
the power tool may result in personal in
jury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected sit
uations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose cloth
ing or jewellery. Keep your hair and cloth
ing away from moving parts. Loose
clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection
of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly
used. Use of dust collection can reduce
dust-related hazards.
h. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent
use of tools allow you to become compla
cent and ignore tool safety principles. A
careless action can cause severe injury
within a fraction of a second.
4 POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the cor
rect power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power tool

that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or remove the battery pack, if
detachable, from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing acces
sories, or storing power tools. Such pre
ventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfami
liar with the power tool or these instruc
tions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of un
trained users.
e. Maintain power tools and accessories.
Check for misalignment or binding of mov
ing parts, breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power
tool repaired before use. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power
tools.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Prop
erly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
g. Use the power tool, accessories and tool
bits etc. in accordance with these instruc
tions, taking into account the working con
ditions and the work to be performed. Use
of the power tool for operations different
from those intended could result in a haz
ardous situation.
h. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry,
clean and free from oil and grease. Slip
pery handles and grasping surfaces do not
allow for safe handling and control of the
tool in unexpected situations.
5 Battery tool use and care
a. Recharge only with the charger specified
by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery pack may
create a risk of fire when used with another
battery pack.
b. Use power tools only with specifically des
ignated battery packs. Use of any other
battery packs may create a risk of injury
and fire.
c. When battery pack is not in use, keep it
away from other metal objects, like paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other
small metal objects, that can make a con
nection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together
may cause burns or a fire.
d. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, flush with wa
ter. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally
seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
e. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is
damaged or modified. Damaged or modi
fied batteries may exhibit unpredictable be
haviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of
injury.
f. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire
or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire
or temperature above 130 °C (265 °F) may
cause explosion.
g. Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or tool outside the
temperature range specified in the in
structions. Charging improperly or at tem
peratures outside the specified range may
damage the battery and increase the risk of
fire.
6 SERVICE
a. Have your power tool serviced by a quali
fied repair person using only identical re
placement parts. This will ensure that the
safety of the power tool is maintained.
b. Never service damaged battery packs.
Service of battery packs should only be
performed by the manufacturer or author
ized service providers.
c. Only use original Festool parts for repair
and maintenance. The use of incompatible
accessories or spare parts can result in
electric shocks or other injuries.
Follow the operating manual for the charger
and the battery pack.
3.2 Machine-specific safety notices
–Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise
can cause hearing loss.
–Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with
the tool. Loss of control can cause person
al injury.
–Hold power tool by insulated gripping sur
faces, when performing an operation
where the cutting accessory may contact
hidden wiring. Cutting accessory contact
ing a "live" wire may make exposed metal
parts of the power tool "live" and could give
the operator an electric shock.
–Use appropriate detection devices to look
for any hidden supply lines or consult your

local utility company. If the insertion tool
makes contact with live cables, it can result
in fire and electric shock. Damage to a gas
pipe can lead to an explosion. Penetration
of a water pipe can result in damage to
property.
–Harmful/toxic dust may be produced dur
ing your work (e.g. paint containing lead,
certain types of wood and metal). Inhaling
or coming into contact with this dust may
represent a hazard for operating personnel
or persons in the vicinity. Comply with the
safety regulations that apply in your coun
try.
Wear a P2 dust mask to protect your
health.
–
Wear suitable personal protective equip
ment: Ear protection, protective goggles,
dust mask for work that generates dust,
protective gloves for working with rough
materials and for changing tools.
CAUTION! Power tool can jam and cause
sudden kickback! Switch off immediately!
– If a tool becomes stuck in the material, it
can be removed simply by reversing the ro
tational direction of the machine.
–Do not use the power tool in the rain or in
damp surroundings. Moisture in the power
tool may cause a short circuit and fire.
– Do not lock the on/off switch in place per
manently.
–Do not use power supply units or third-
party battery packs to operate cordless
power tools. Do not use third-party charg
ers to charge the battery packs. The use of
accessories not expressly authorised by the
manufacturer can result in electric shocks
and/or serious accidents.
3.3 Health hazard by dust
WARNING! various dust created by pow
er sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and
other construction activities contains chemicals
known (to the State of California) to cause can
cer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
– lead from lead-based paints,
– crystalline silica from bricks and cement
and other masonry products, and
– arsenic and chromium from chemically
treated lumber.
The risk from these expo
sures varies, depending on
how often you do this type of
work. To reduce your expo
sure to these chemicals:
work in a well ventilated
area, and work with approved safety equipment,
such as dust masks that are specially designed
to filter out microscopic particles. Wash hands
after handling.

7 Commissioning
7.1 Changing the battery pack

7.2 Light and battery capacity indicator
The LED on the lamp [1-10] is both a
light and a battery capacity indica
tor [1-9].
The LED automatically indicates the charging
state of the battery pack (not NiCd and NiMH
battery packs) when the on/off switch [1-4] is
pressed.

Inserting the tool
► Clean the tool shaft and grease lightly.
► Do not retract the release sleeve [3-2], in
stead turn the tool in the tool adapter[3-1]
until it clicks into position.
► Check that the tool is seated securely.

move the tool.

9.3 Auxiliary handle
We recommend woking with an auxiliary
handle [5-1] to ensure a safe, non-tiring
working posture.

► Attach the auxiliary handle [5-1] to the neck
of the gear housing.
► Turn the grip anticlockwise until the auxili
ary handle [5-1] is secured in position.

9.4 Depth stop
The drilling depth can be adjusted us
ing the depth stop [5-2].

► Unscrew the auxiliary handle [5-1] by turn
ing the grip anticlockwise.
► Insert the depth stop [5-2] in the auxiliary
handle [5-1].
► Pull out the depth stop [5-2] until the dis
tance between the tip of the drill and the tip
of the depth stop corresponds to the desired
drilling depth.
► Tighten the grip on the auxiliary han
dle [5-1] again.
9.5 Extraction
Please observe the safety regulations applica
ble in your country for dust. The relevant limit
values must be observed at the workstation. A
dust extractor may be required for correspond
ing dust exposure and depending on regula
tions. Festool offers a drilling dust nozzle in the
accessories system.
Use drill dust collection nozzle [6]
The drill dust collection nozzle has a patented
dual-chamber system for clean drilling and a
secure hold on floors, walls and ceilings.
If the extractor has an automatic filter
cleaning system this must be deacti
vated.
► Put it on the wall, floor or ceiling.
► Connect the dust extractor and switch it on.
The drill dust collection nozzle clings to the
surface.
► Place rotary hammer.

The belt clip (right/left) allows the user to at

an unauthorised person can lead to the
wrong connection of the power cord or oth
er components, which in turn can lead to
accidents with serious consequences.

Certain cleaning agents and solvents are
harmful to plastic parts.
► Some of these include, but are not limited
to: Gasoline, Acetone, Methyl Ethyl Ketone
(MEK), Carbonyl Chloride, cleaning solu
tions containing Chlorine, Ammonia, and
household cleaners containing Ammonia.

Keep the contacts on the power tool, charger
and battery pack clean.
To ensure constant air circulation, always keep
the cooling air openings in the motor housing
clean and free of blockages.
12 Accessories
Use only original Festool accessories and
Festool consumable material intended for this
machine. These components are designed spe
cifically for this machine. Using accessories
and consumable material from other suppliers
will most likely affect the quality of your results
and limit warranty claims. Machine wear or
your own personal workload may increase de
pending on the application. Protect yourself and
your machine, and preserve your warranty
claims by always using original Festool acces
sories and Festool consumable material!

12.1 SYSTAINER
Systainer
Many Festool products are shipped in a unique
system container, called "Systainer". This pro
vides protection and storage for the tool and ac
cessories. The Systainers are stackable and
can be interlocked together. They also can be
interlocked atop Festool CT dust extractors.
To open the Systainer
Turn the T-loc [SYS-b-1] to this posi
tion.
To lock the Systainer
Turn the T-loc [SYS-b-1] to this posi
tion.
To connect two Systainers
Place one Systainer on the top of the other
(Fig. [SYS-a]).
Turn the T-loc [SYS-b-1] to one of
this positions (Fig. [SYS-b]).
The Systainers are connected and locked.
A new generation Systainer is con
nectable on top of a previous genera
tion Systainer by the four latches of
the previous Systainer.

13 Environment
Do not dispose of the device together with do
mestic waste! Dispose of machines, accesso
ries and packaging at an environmentally re
sponsible recycling centre. Observe the valid
national regulations.
Battery Disposal
WARNING

or remove any component projecting from
the battery terminals.
► Prior to disposal, protect exposed termi
nals with heavy insulating tape to prevent
shorting.
The RBRCTM (Rechargeable Battery Recycling
Corporation) Seal on nickel cadmium (NiCd),
nickel metal hydride (NiMH) or lithium-ion
(LiIon) batteries (or battery packs) indicates
Festool is voluntarily participating in an indus
try program to collect and recycle these batter
ies at the end of their useful life, when taken
out of service in the United States or Canada. In
some areas, it is illegal to place spent batteries
in the trash or municipal solid waste stream
and RBRC Program provides an environmental
ly conscious alternative.
Please call 1-800-822-8837 for information on
battery recycling and disposal bans/restrictions
in your area, or return your batteries to the
Festool Service Center for recycling. Help pro
tect our environment and conserve natural re
sources!
14 General information
14.1 Information on data protection
The power tool contains a chip which automati
cally stores machine and operating data. The
data saved cannot be traced back directly to an
individual.
The data can be read using special (contactless)
devices and shall only be used by Festool for
fault diagnosis, repair and warranty processing
and for quality improvement or enhancement of
the power tool. The data shall not be used in
any other way without the express consent of
the customer.

1 PLACE DE TRAVAIL

ches non modifiées et les prises de courant
appropriées réduisent le risque de choc
électrique.
b. Evitez le contact physique avec des surfa
ces mises à la terre tels que tuyaux, radia
teurs, fours et réfrigérateurs. Il y a un ris
que élevé de choc électrique au cas où vo
tre corps serait relié à la terre.
c. N'exposez pas l'outil électroportatif à la
pluie ou à l'humidité. La pénétration d'eau
dans un outil électroportatif augmente le
risque d'un choc électrique.
d. N'utilisez pas le câble à d'autres fins que
celles prévues, n'utilisez pas le câble pour
porter l'appareil ou pour l'accrocher ou
encore pour le débrancher de la prise de
courant. Maintenez le câble éloigné des
sources de chaleur, des parties grasses,
des bords tranchants ou des parties de
l'appareil en rotation. Un câble endomma
gé ou torsadé augmente le risque d'un
choc électrique.
e. Si vous travaillez avec un outil électropor
tatif à l'extérieur, utilisez uniquement des
rallonges prévues pour l'extérieur. L'utili
sation d'un câble prévu pour l'extérieur di
minue le risque d'un choc électrique.
f. Si l'usage d'un outil dans un emplacement
humide est inévitable, utiliser une alimen
tation protégée par un dispositif à courant
différentiel résiduel (RCD). L'usage d'un
RCD réduit le risque de choc électrique.
3 SECURITE DES PERSONNES
a. Restez vigilant, surveillez ce que vous fai
tes. Faites preuve de bon en utilisant l'ou
til électroportatif. N'utilisez pas l'appareil
lorsque vous êtes fatigué ou après avoir
consommé de l'alcool, des drogues ou
avoir pris des médicaments. Un moment
d'inattention lors de l'utilisation de l'appa
reil peut entraîner de graves blessures sur
les personnes.
b. Portez des équipements de protection.
Portez toujours des lunettes de protec
tion. Le fait de porter des équipements de
protection personnels tels que masque an
ti-poussières, chaussures de sécurité anti
dérapantes, casque de protection ou pro
tection acoustique suivant le travail à effec
tuer, réduit le risque de blessures.
c. Evitez une mise en service par mégarde.
Assurez- vous que l'interrupteur est ef
fectivement en position d'arrêt avant de
retirer la fiche de la prise de courant. Le

fait de porter l'appareil avec le doigt sur
l'interrupteur ou de brancher l'appareil sur
la source de courant lorsque l'interrupteur
est en position de fonctionnement, peut en
traîner des accidents.
d. Enlevez tout outil de réglage ou toute clé
avant de mettre l'appareil en fonctionne
ment. Une clé ou un outil se trouvant sur
une partie en rotation peut causer des
blessures.
e. Ne surestimez pas vos capacités. Veillez à
garder toujours une position stable et
équilibrée. Ceci vous permet de mieux
contrôler l'appareil dans des situations in
attendues.
f. Portez des vêtements appropriés. Ne por
tez pas de vêtements amples, ni de bijoux.
Gardez les cheveux et les vêtements à dis
tance des pièces mobiles. Des vêtements
amples, des bijoux ou des cheveux longs
peuvent être happés par les pièces en
mouvement.
g. Si des dispositifs servant à aspirer ou à
recueillir les poussières doivent être utili
sés, vérifiez que ceux-ci soient effective
ment raccordés et qu'ils sont correcte
ment utilisés. L'utilisation de tels disposi
tifs réduit les dangers dus aux poussières.
h. Ne devenez pas trop sûr de vous, par habi
tude suite à une utilisation fréquente de
l'appareil, de manière à ne pas respecter
les principes de sécurité de base de l'ap
pareil. Une action imprudente peut occa
sionner de graves blessures en l'espace
d'une fraction de seconde.
4 UTILISATION ET EMPLOI SOIGNEUX DE
L'OUTIL ELECTROPORTATIF
a. Ne surchargez pas l'appareil. Utilisez
l'outil électroportatif approprié au travail
à effectuer. Avec l'outil électroportatif ap
proprié, vous travaillerez mieux et avec
plus de sécurité à la vitesse pour laquelle il
est prévu.
b. N'utilisez pas un outil électroportatif dont
l'interrupteur est défectueux. Un outil
électroportatif qui ne peut plus être mis en
ou hors fonctionnement est dangereux et
doit être réparé.
c. Retirer la fiche de la prise de courant
avant d'effectuer des réglages sur l'appa
reil, de changer les accessoires, ou de
ranger l'appareil. Cette mesure de précau
tion empêche une mise en fonctionnement
par mégarde.
d. Gardez les outils électroportatifs non uti
lisés hors de portée des enfants. Ne per
mettez pas l'utilisation de l'appareil à des
personnes qui ne se sont pas familiarisées
avec celui-ci ou qui n'ont pas lu ces ins
tructions. Les outils électroportatifs sont
dangereux lorsqu'ils sont utilisés par des
personnes non initiées.
e. Prenez soin des outils électroportatifs.
Vérifiez que les parties en mouvement
fonctionnent correctement et qu'elles ne
soient pas coincées, et contrôlez si des
parties sont cassées ou endommagées de
telle sorte que le bon fonctionnement de
l'appareil s'en trouve entravé. Faites répa
rer les parties endommagées avant d'utili
ser l'appareil. De nombreux accidents sont
dus à des outils électroportatifs mal entre
tenus.
f. Maintenez les outils de coupe aiguisés et
propres. Des outils soigneusement entre
tenus avec des bords tranchants bien aigui
sés se coincent moins souvent et peuvent
être guidés plus facilement.
g. Utilisez les outils électroportatifs, les ac
cessoires, les outils à monter etc. confor
mément à ces instructions et aux pre
scriptions en vigueur pour ce type d'appa
reil.Tenez compte également des condi
tions de travail et du travail à effectuer.
L'utilisation des outils électroportatifs à
d'autres fins que celles prévues peut en
traîner des situations dangereuses.
h. Gardez les poignées dans un état sec, pro
pre et exempt d’huile et de graisse. Des
poignées glissantes ne permettent pas une
prise en main sûre et le contrôle de l’outil
électrique dans des situations inattendues.
5 UTILISATION ET EMPLOI SOIGNEUX DES
APPAREILS SANS FIL
a. Ne chargez les accumulateurs que dans
des chargeurs recommandés par le fabri
cant. Un chargeur approprié à un type spé
cifique d'accumulateur peut engendrer un
risque d'incendie lorsqu'il est utilisé avec
d'autres accumulateurs.
b. Dans les outils électroportatifs, n'utilisez
que les accumulateurs spécialement pré
vus pour celui-ci. L'utilisation de tout autre
accumulateur peut entraîner des blessures
et des risques d'incendie.
c. Tenez l'accumulateur non-utilisé à l'écart
de toutes sortes d'objets métalliques tels
qu'agrafes, pièces de monnaie, clés, clous,
vis ou autres, étant donné qu'un pontage

peut provoquer un court-circuit. Un court-
circuit entre les contacts d'accu peut pro
voquer des brûlures ou un incendie.
d. En cas d'utilisation abusive, du liquide
peut sortir de l'accumulateur. Evitez tout
contact avec ce liquide. En cas de contact
par mégarde, rincez soigneusement avec
de l'eau. Au cas où le liquide rentrerait
dans les yeux, consultez en plus un méde
cin. Le liquide qui sort de l'accumulateur
peut entraîner des irritations de la peau ou
causer des brûlures.
e. Ne pas utiliser une batterie ou un outil qui
est endommagé ou modifié. Les batteries
endommagées ou modifiées peuvent pré
senter un comportement imprévisible de
provoquer un incendie, d'explosion ou de
risque de blessure.
f. Ne pas exposer une batterie ou un outil au
feu ou à une température excessive. L'ex
position à un incendie ou une température
supérieure à 130 ° C peut provoquer une
explosion.
g. Suivez toutes les instructions pour le
chargement et ne chargez jamais la batte
rie ou l'outil sans fil hors de la plage de
température indiquée dans la notice d'uti
lisation. Un chargement erroné ou hors de
la plage de température autorisée peut dé
truire la batterie et augmenter le risque
d'incendie.
6 SERVICE
a. Ne faites réparer votre outil électroporta
tif que par un personnel qualifié et seule
ment avec des pièces de rechange d'origi
ne. Ceci permet d'assurer la sécurité de
l'appareil.
b. Ne jamais services des batteries endom
magés. Service des batteries ne doit être
effectuée par le fabricant ou fournisseurs
de services autorisés.
c. Pour la réparation et l'entretien, n'utilisez
que des pièces d'origine. L'utilisation d'ac
cessoires ou de pièces détachées non
adaptés risque de provoquer une électro
cution ou des blessures.
Respecter la notice d'utilisation du chargeur
et de la batterie.
3.2 Consignes de sécurité spécifiques à
l'appareil
–Portez une protection auditive ! L'effet du
bruit peut occasionner des pertes auditives.
–Utilisez les poignées additionnelles four
nies avec l'appareil. La perte de contrôle
de la machine peut conduire à des blessu
res.
–Tenez l'appareil uniquement au niveau
des surfaces isolées de la poignée lorsque
vous effectuez des travaux au cours des
quels l'outil de série ou la vis peuvent tou
cher des conduites électriques cachées ou
le propre câble secteur. Le contact de l'ou
til de série ou de la vis avec un câble sous
tension peut également mettre les compo
sants métalliques de l'outil sous tension et
provoquer un choc électrique.
–Utilisez des appareils de détection appro
priés pour repérer les câbles d'alimenta
tion invisibles ou consultez l'entreprise de
distribution locale. Le contact de l'outil
monté avec un câble sous tension peut pro
voquer un feu ou une décharge électrique.
Une conduite de gaz endommagée peut
provoquer une explosion. Le perçage dans
une conduite d'eau provoque des dégâts
matériels.
–Au cours du travail, des poussières noci
ves/toxiques peuvent être générées (com
me les poussières de peintures au plomb
ou certaines poussières de bois ou de mé
tal). Le contact ou l'inhalation de ces pous
sières peut présenter un danger pour l'uti
lisateur ou les personnes se trouvant à
proximité. Veuillez respecter les prescrip
tions de sécurité en vigueur dans votre
pays.
Pour votre santé, portez un masque de
protection respiratoire de classe P2.

Portez un équipement de protection indi
viduelle approprié : une protection auditi
ve, des lunettes de protection, un masque
anti-poussière lors des travaux impliquant
un dégagement de poussière et des gants
de protection dans le cas des matériaux ru
gueux et lors du changement d'outil.
ATTENTION ! L'outil électroportatif peut
se bloquer et provoquer un rebond brus
que ! Mettre à l'arrêt immédiatement !
– Un outil coincé dans le matériau peut être
retiré en le tournant dans l'autre sens.
–Ne pas utiliser l'outil électroportatif sous
la pluie ou dans un environnement humi
de. L'humidité dans l'outil électroportatif

peut causer un court-circuit et provoquer
un incendie.
– Ne pas bloquer constamment l'interrup
teur marche/arrêt !
–Ne pas faire fonctionner l'outil électropor
tatif sans fil avec des blocs d'alimentation
secteur ou avec des batteries d'autres fa
bricants. Ne pas utiliser de chargeurs
d'autres fabricants pour recharger la bat
terie. L'utilisation d'accessoires autres que
ceux prévus par le fabricant peut provoquer
une décharge électrique et/ou des acci
dents graves.
3.3 La poussière, un risque pour la santé
AVERTISSEMENT! certaines poussières
créées par le ponçage mécanique, le
sciage, le meulage, le perçage et autres activi
tés reliées à la construction contiennent des
substances chimiques connues (dans l’État de
la Californie) comme pouvant causer le cancer,
des anomalies congénitales ou représenter
d’autres dangers pour la reproduction. Voici
quelques exemples de telles substances:
– plomb provenant de peintures à base de
plomb,
– silice cristallisée utilisée dans les briques,
le ciment et autres matériaux de maçonne
rie, et
– arsenic et chrome du bois d’oeuvre traité
avec un produit chimique.
Le risque d’exposition à de
tels produits varie selon la
fréquence à laquelle vous
faites ce genre de travail.
Pour réduire les risques
d’exposition à ces substan
ces chimiques : travaillez dans un endroit adé
quatement ventilé et utilisez un équipement de
sécurité approuvé, tel que masques antipous
sières spécialement conçus pour filtrer les par
ticules microscopiques.
