THIS ERROR INDICATES A SWITCH IS STUCK. CHECK ALL SWITCHES ARE IN THE CENTER
POSITION. M OVE ALL SWITCHES UP AND DOWN AND RELEASE.
HOLDING THE GREEN POW ER BUTTON TOO LONG, CAN CAUSE THIS TO
HAPPEN. LET GO OF GREEN POW ER BUTTON AND SEE IF PROBLEM GOES
AW AY.

IF THE HEALTH LED IS OUT OR IS LIT STEADY, THE M AIN
M ICROCONTROLLER HAS STALLED.
IF THE HEALTH LED IS FLASHING RAPIDLY, THERE IS A M EM ORY
FAULT WITH THE RECEIVER.

RECEIVER.

TROUBLESHOOT RECEIVER
IF NO PART OF THE M ACHINE CAN BE CONTROLLED:
CHECK SUPPLY VOLTAGE:
IS SUPPLY VOLTAGE OVER 28 VOLTS? (NOTE: VERY FAST “ SPIKES” COUNT—
M AY NOT BE DETECTIBLE ON M OST DIGITAL VOLT M ETERS)
YES: THE RECEIVER IS FAULTING ON AN OVER-VOLTAGE CONDITION;
REQUIRES POWER CYCLE (TURN OFF, TURN ON) TO REGAIN
CONTROL. INSPECT POWER SUPPLY (BATTERY, BATTERY LUGS,
ALTERNATOR, WIRING) AND CORRECT ANY ISSUES
NO: CONTINUE TO NEXT STEP

RECEIVER RX/ TX LEDs ARE FLASHING AND REM OTE RX/ TX LEDs ARE FLASHING BUT NOT
CONTROLING M ACHINE

TROUBLESHOOT RECEIVER
IF NO PART OF THE M ACHINE CAN BE CONTROLLED:
CHECK SUPPLY VOLTAGE:
IS THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE UNDER 7 VOLTS?
YES: THE RECEIVER IS STARVING FOR POWER. LOAD TEST THE
BATTERY AND CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY WIRING.
NO: CHECK WIRING TO ENSURE THAT ALL HYDRAULIC VALVE COIL
RETURNS AND ANY OTHER OUTPUT LOAD RETURNS ARE TIED TO
THE SAM E POINT AND THAT POINT ISTIED TO BATTERY
NEGATIVE AND THE “ -VDC” (GROUND) PIN ON THE RECEIVER.

CHECK HYDRAULIC VALVE COILS FOR CONTINUITY (TYPICAL VALVE COIL RESISTANCE IS 25 OHM SOR LESS)
SWAP CONNECTORS FROM SUSPECTED BAD VALVE TO ONE THAT ISKNOWN TO
WORK
DOES SUSPECTED OUTPUT CHANNEL OPERATE THE “ NEW” FUNCTION?
YES—REPLACE SUSPECTED VALVE
NO—POSSIBLE DAM AGE TO THE OUTPUT CHANNEL

IF RADIO CONTROL OPERATES THE M ACHINE PROPERLY, BUT ONLY W HEN THE OPERATOR IS
NEAR THE M ACHINE
TROUBLESHOOT RANGE ISSUE
SYSTEM IS DSIGNED TO OPERATE AT TYPICAL 300’ OR GREATER LINE-OF-SIGHT.
LINE OF SIGHT M EANS THE OPERATOR CAN SEE THE RECEIVER (OR ANTENNA IN THOSE SYSTEM S
WITH AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA); THERE ARE NO OBSTRUCTIONSBETWEEN THE REM OTE AND
THE RECEIVER’S ANTENNA. (THIS INCLUDES THE M ACHINE ITSELF)
IN TYPICAL OPERATING LINE-OF-SIGHT RANGE M ETAL OBSTRUCTIONSWILL “ SHADOW” THE
SIGNAL.
EXPANDED M ETAL OR CHAIN LINK FENCING AS AN OBSTICAL CAN SOM ETIM ESBE EVEN M ORE

IS THE RADIO CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATING UNDER LINE-OF-SIGHT CONDITIONS?
TROUBLESHOOT RANGE ISSUE
NO:
OBSTRUCTIONS ARE LIM ITING THE RADIO RANGE.
REPOSITION THE OPERATOR OR THE M ACHINE TO M AINTAIN LINE-OF-SIGHT CONDITIONS AS M UCH AS
POSSIBLE.
YES:
LARGE M ETAL OBJECTS NEAR THE M ACHINE OR OPERATOR M AY BE REFLECTING RADIO ENERGY FROM THE
REM OTE CONTROL SYSTEM IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE REFLECTIONS ARE INTERFERING WITH THE LINE-OF-
SIGHT SIGNAL.
OR
ANOTHER RADIO SIGNAL IS INTERFERING WITH THE REM OTE CONTROL’S RADIO SIGNAL; DISASSOCIATE AND
REASSOCIATE REM OTE AND RECEIVER. THIS ALLOWS THE REM OTE TO SCAN THE RADIO CHANNELS THAT IT
CAN OPERATE ON AND DETERM INE THE BEST CHANNEL TO WORK WITH. IF THERE IS AN INTERFERING
SIGNAL IT M AY TAKE SEVERAL ATTEM PTS TO BE SYNCHED.
DAM AGE TO THE REM OTE OR ANTENNA CAN ALSO REDUCE THE RANGE OF THE SYTEM .

REPLACEM ENT REM OTE
TROUBLESHOOTING
ALL REPLACEM ENT REM OTESM UST BE ASSOCIATED TO THE RECEIVER BEFORE THE REM OTE CAN OPERATE THE M ACHINE.
EVERY REM OTE AND RECEIVER HAVE A UNIQUE ID CODE WHICH M UST BE EXCHANGED.
IF A REM OTE WAS REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS SUSPECTED AS THE CAUSE OF A M ALFUNCTION WITH THE SYSTEM , THE
RECEIVER M AY BE THE CULPRIT INSTEAD.
CHECK THE “ WS NUM BER” OF THE REM OTE AND RECEIVER. THE WS NUM BER DETERM INES THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
UNDER WHICH EACH PIECE OF A CERVIS, INC. RADIO SYSTEM ISCONFIGURED. IF THE WS NUM BER DOESNOT M ATCH
BETWEEN A RECEIVER AND REM OTE, THEY ARE LIKELY INCOM PATIBLE.
M ANY PIECES FROM DIFFERENT SYSTEM S LOOK IDENTICAL TO EACH OTHER BUT ARE NOT CONFIGURED THE SAM E.
THE WSNUM BER CAN BE FOUND ON THE FACEPLATE LABEL OF THE RECEIVER AND INSIDE THE BATTERY COM PARTM ENT OF
THE REM OTE .
EVEN IF THE REM OTE WILL ASSOCIATE TO THE RECEIVER, THERE M AY BE A M ISM ATCH IN FUNCTIONALITY
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT NOT ALL FUNCTIONS WILL OPERATE OR THAT SWITCHES AND CONTROLSWILL NOT OPERATE THE
FUNCTION THAT ISEXPECTED BUT WILL OPERATE A DIFFERENT FUNCTION WHICH COULD POSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
