The smoke alarm shall be a First Alert Model SA320 and shall provide at a minimum the
following features and functions:
1. Two smoke sensing chambers - photoelectric and ionization.
2. Powered by two AAalkaline batteries andhave a solid state piezo horn ratedat
85dB at 10ft. and shall be capable of self restoring.
3. A visual power-onindicator to confirm unit is receiving power.
4. Two Latching features: Alarm Latch to easily identify initiating alarm after alarm
condition hassubsided. Low battery latch: to visually identify whichunit isin low
battery condition. Two Silence Features: Alarm Silence to temporarily silence
nuisance alarms. Low Battery Silence to silence low battery chirp for up to 8hours.
5. Two Locking features - tamper resistant locking pinsthat lock battery drawer
and/or alarm to mounting bracket.
6. The unit shall be capable of operating between 40°F (4°C) and 100°F (38°C) and
relative humidity between 10% and95%.
7. The unit shall contain mounting hardware and shall be listed for wallor ceiling
mounting.
8. The unit shall have a gasketless base for easy installationand be capable of
keeping alarm secure over a wide rotationrange to allow for true alarm
alignment.
9. The unit shallat a minimum meet the requirements of UL217, CSFM,
NFPA 72and the ICC.
