• Please keep this instruction sheet for future reference, as it contains important information.
• Adult assembly is required to install or remove speed control wheels.
• Tools needed for wheel replacement or size adjustment: Two Allen wrenches (included).
• For children ages 5 years and up.
• Fits child’s shoe sizes 12 to 2.
• For children up to 81 lbs. (37 kg).

IMPORTANT! Please take a moment to review the following safety tips with your skater.
• Your skater should wear comfortable socks with these boot-style skates.
• Your skater should wear a helmet, knee pads, wrist guards and elbow pads to guard
against bumps and bruises (all not included).
• Keep loose pant legs away from the wheels.
• Supervise beginner skaters. Hold the beginner’s hand and guide the new skater along a
smooth, level surface.
• Make sure your skater knows how to brake and stop in these skates.
• Choose areas for skating which are free of obstacles.
• Never skate in areas with water, wet spots, snow, ice, sand, oil, gravel etc.
• Make sure your skater never skates on streets, roadways and driveways which enter
vehicle traffic routes.
• Towing skaters with bicycles or cars is unsafe.
• Make sure your skater does not skate down hill. Braking is gradual with these skates.
Your skater should keep this in mind to allow enough stopping distance.
• Before skating, check to be sure all wheels, the brake, straps and other plastic parts are
not loose, cracked, broken or worn out. Tighten all parts as necessary. If any parts are
cracked, broken or worn out, discard the skates.

• Loosen the screw on the rear wheel of a
skate with an Allen wrench. Remove
the screw.
These wheels can be
installed for more
experienced skaters.
High-Performance Wheels
These wheels should be
installed for beginners.
These wheels slow the skates
down, giving beginners
extra control.
Speed Control Wheels
• Use the other end of the Allen wrench to
push the barrel nut out of the skate.
• Remove the wheel and replace it with the
wheel type desired.
• Replace the barrel nut. Insert the screw
and tighten with the Allen wrench. Do not
over-tighten.

• Locate the size adjustment screw on the
side of each skate.
• While holding one side of the screw
assembly with an Allen wrench, loosen
the other side of the screw with another
Allen wrench. Remove the screw and
the barrel nut.
• Grasp the front of the skate and pull or
push it so that the adjustment holes align
to match your child’s shoe size.
• Fit the screw and barrel nut back into the
matching adjustment hole and secure
them with the two Allen wrenches.
Note: Make sure both skates are
properly sized.

• Press and hold the latch while pulling the
top strap out.
• Lift the lower strap from the fasteners to
loosen it.
• Pull the tongue forward and insert a foot
into the skate.

• Insert the top strap into the latch just until
it catches.

IMPORTANT! Your child must first learn how
to stop using the heel brake on these skates.
While leaning forward, bend at the knees and
tilt the braking skate (with the heel brake) toe
up. Apply pressure to the heel brake. The heel
brake stops your skater gradually. Please be
sure your skater keeps this in mind and
always allows enough stopping distance.
Proper care and maintenance is important! Over
time the heel brake will wear down. If the heel
brake is worn, it’s time to replace it! Please visit

Proper care and maintenance is
important! Over time, and without rotation,
the wheels will wear unevenly on the inside
edge. When this happens, it’s time to rotate
the wheels.

Important! Do not rotate the Speed
Control Wheel. Wheels should only be
rotated after the Speed Control Wheel
has been replaced with the High-
Performance Wheel.
• Use the Allen wrenches to loosen and
remove the screw and nut in each of the
wheels. Remove each wheel keeping in
mind its original location. For example,
the first wheel should be replaced in the
second position; the second wheel should
be replaced in the third position, the third
wheel should be replaced in the fourth
position; and the last wheel should be
replaced in the first position.
• Turn the wheel around so that the worn
edge is now on the outside. Now, replace
the wheels in the skate, one position back
from where it was originally placed.
• Replace the screw and nut in each wheel.
Tighten each with the Allen wrenches. Do
not over-tighten.

• Wipe surface with a clean cloth dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Do not
immerse the toy.
