Troubleshooting
18
If the Aqualand Cruiser slows down:
When the Aqualand Cruiser slows down, the battery pack needs
recharging. If the Aqualand Cruiser is in the water, guide it to shore as
soon as possible.
If the Aqualand Cruiser movement stops:
• Ensure the receiver on the main unit is in line of sight with, and less
than 100 feet away from, the remote control.
• Ensure the Aqualand Cruiser battery pack is charged. (See Charging
the Battery Pack.)
• Ensure you have correctly installed one fresh 9V battery in the remote
control. (See Battery Installation.)
• Ensure the Aqualand Cruiser POWER switch is in the ON position.
Reset the Aqualand Cruiser by turning the POWER switch to OFF,
then to ON again.
Troubleshooting
19
• When the Aqualand Cruiser is outside the remote control range, it
stops operating. To re-establish contact, hold the remote control straight
above your head as high as possible while keeping the antenna vertical.
If you cannot re-establish contact, move closer to the Aqualand Cruiser.
Caution: If the Aqualand Cruiser is in water, be careful not to wade into
deep water or strong current.
If you need to retrieve the Aqualand Cruiser out of water:
Keep radio control range in mind while driving it on a lake, pond or
open water. Stand 15 to 20 feet away from the water’s edge. To drive
your Aqualand Cruiser back for retrieval, walk a few steps toward it while
maintaining a safe distance from water’s edge.
Care and Maintenance
• Avoid exposing the Aqualand Cruiser and the remote control to
extreme temperatures or severe shock.
• Do not tamper with any of the internal components. This will
invalidate the warranty and may cause damage.
• Check batteries frequently.
AL Cruiser booklet 8/2/05 1:51 PM Page 19

20
Care and Maintenance
• Ensure batteries are touching their contacts.
• Always replace batteries with fresh alkaline batteries.
• To save batteries, always turn the Aqualand Cruiser and remote
control off when not in use.
• Remove batteries from the Aqualand Cruiser and remote when they
are not in use.
