Weighing one pound and only 1.5 inches thick, the Focus DR-HD100 Portable DTE
Recorder brings Direct To Edit®recording technology to your JVC GY-HD100/110 se-
ries or HD200/250 series ProHD camcorder. Whether it’s mounted directly to your
camcorder or clipped to your belt, the JVC DR-HD100 is designed to excel in the field.
Focus DR-HD100 Portable DTE Recorder
Featuring a comprehensive backlit display, an easy-to-use menu system, a hard drive, and
a removable, rechargeable battery, the Focus DR-HD100 is the perfect DTE companion
for JVC GY-HD100/110 series and HD200/250 series ProHD camcorders. Audio, video,
timecode, and control information is passed through a single FireWire cable, allowing you
to record to disk and tape simultaneously. Designed for use in even the roughest condi-
tions, the DR-HD100 includes a six- or ten-second electronic shock cache to ensure that
you never lose footage. Advanced features such as time lapse (DV mode only) retro disk
recording and scene marking make the DR-HD100 Portable DTE Recorder the perfect DTE
companion for handheld shoots.
When recording is complete, your footage is ready to edit instantly—no capturing, file
transfer, or file conversion is required. The DR-HD100 is compatible with a wide range of

Native QuickTime HDV Support
With the DR-HD100, you can record
720/24p, 25p, and 30p as native Quick-
Time HDV. The DR-HD100 extracts and
decodes the audio from the incoming
HDV stream, combines it with the vid-
eo stream, and wraps it as a QuickTime
HDV file. When recording is complete,
your QuickTime HDV file can be import-
ed directly into Final Cut Pro—no cap-
ture or conversion is required.

With the Focus DR-HD100 Portable DTE
Recorder, you’ll go from acquisition to
editing with unparalleled speed, effi-
ciency, and reliability. Designed specifi-
cally for JVC GY-HD100/110 series and
HD200/250 series ProHD camcorders
and compatible with most third-party
editing software, the DR-HD100 fea-
tures Direct To Edit (DTE) video record-
ing technology that converts the output
from your DV or HDV camcorder or VTR
to a nonlinear editing (NLE) format and
records it on the internal disk drive. By
combining DTE Technology®with ad-
vanced caching and redundant tape and
disk recording, the DR-HD100 ensures
that you never miss an important shot or
