Running-in Period
The 13 KS mini subwoofer incorporates the
very latest components. For the subwoofer to
benefit, a running-in period must be used.
Changes in temperature and humidity are
regarded as very hostile. We recommend
that once the system is ready for listening
the subwoofers should be run-in at medium
volume setting. The use of audio material
that contains good low frequencies is ideal
to gain their full potential. We recommend
this running period be used for at least one
week.
Installation tips
A basic hole cut to a diameter of 115mm
is necessary for mounting the subwoofer.
The inclusion of the foam gasket for correct
airtight installation is highly recommended.
Carefully attach to the chassis, then use the
supplied fixing screws to ensure the subwoofer
remains securely mounted in place.

The 13 KS mini subwoofer is a high pedigree
contender, even at competition install level.
Carefully optimised to work in small volumes
allows easy install into normally awkward
front locations of the vehicle (dashboard
install centrally mounted), (fig A). The 13 KS
can equally be used to boost the front bass
frequencies inside the vehicle. This key
feature ensures correct “staging” is observed,
for improved system integration.
Enclosure volume
Designed for small volumes of around 5 liters
(0.18 ft3), the 13 KS has an added advantage,
allowing the possibility to link 2 units together
in parallel. This advantage is due to the
comparatively high impedance value of
5 ohms. When linking 2 subwoofers together,
requires the enclosure volume to be doubled
in size.
Cut-off frequency of approximately 73Hz-3dB,
ensures easy integration into the rest of the
system. Internal bass modes present inside
the vehicle, allow low frequencies in the
range of 30Hz to be achieved (fig B)

guarantee drawn up by the official Focal
distributor in your country.
Your distributor can provide all details
concerning the conditions of guarantee.
Guarantee cover extends at least to that
granted by the legal guarantee in force in the
