1. DESCRIPTION
The handtoolHT217isdesigned tocrimpJumbo’sPV’sinthe wirerange
AWG 22-26.
2. OPERATIONINSTRUCTIONS
1. Placethe handtoolinyourleft hand,sothatthe movablehandle(item2)
and connectorfixture(item30)maybe actuated byyourthumb.
2.Actuateconnectorfixtureand placeterminalasfaraspossibleontothe
wirestop (item36), withU-shape facing thecrimper(item23).
3.Usewirewhichisstripped overalengthof 4±0.25 mm.
4.Placethewireintothebarreloftheterminalsothatthe end ofthe wire
touchesthewirestop.
5.Closehandtoolbymoving the handle(item1)whilethe wireisheldin
position.
6.Whenthehandtooliscompletelyclosed,the movablehandle(item2)may
be returned toitsstarting position.
7.Finallytakethe crimped terminalfromthe handtool.
Note:The handtoolhasstops,whichpreventsopeningthe toolbeforethe
crimpaction iscompleted.Shoulditbe necessary,the stop canbe
released byturning theratchetwheelattheback ofthe toolinthe
direction indicated bythe twoyellowarrows.Keep the movablehandle
underlight pressureduring thisoperation.

4. ADJUSTMENT
4.1 Adjustmentofbellmouth
1.Takean open-endedspanneroraring spannerNo8(8mm).
2.Placethe spanneraroundthe nut(item35)on the oppositeofthe
connectorfixture(item30).
3.Turntothe left toincreasethe bellmouthat theboxside of the terminal.
4.Turntothe right todecreasethebellmouthat the boxsideof theterminal.
Note:Whenadjusted,givewithahammeraslighttouchonthescrew(item
27)tobesurethatthenutand washer(item34)restagainstthe
handtoolframe(item4).
4.2Adjustmentofcrimpheight
Eventually,the toolhingescan wear,sothatthe crimpheightmustbe
readjusted.(See belowspecifiedheight.)Thisisdone byloosening screw
(item10)and rotatingthe stop rings(9and 9A)one stop tochange the crimp
height approximately0.05mm (0.002 inches).
5. MAINTENANCE
•Regularchecks mustbe made forpossiblegoldbuild-up oncrimperand
anvil.
•If necessary, thesepartsmaybe cleaned.
•Damaged partsmust be replaced immediately. Forpartnumberssee parts
list.
Movablepartsshouldbe lightlyoiled. Forthispurposeusetheoilthatis
enclosed inthe case.
