1. Safety precautions
1. Do not touch the modelling lamp with your bare hands. It could lead to an oily fingerprints which
reduce the lamp lifetime, or it could result in an explosion and endanger your health. Always use textile
gloves or a piece of cloth for inserting or removing the modelling lamp. The device must be turned
off by the Power switch (no. 10, page 3) while changing the modelling lamp. There is a danger of
electrical injury or burns if the device is not turned off.
2. Keep the device away from children. This device is for professional photography, therefore it should be
only used by a person who knows studio photography.
3. Keep the device away from water. It is not waterproof or water resistant.
4. Be careful when changing accessories (reflectors, snoot reflectors, soft boxes and others). Accessory
can be hot because of the modelling lamp and you can burn yourself. Leave the accessory on the
device until it cools down, then you can remove it.
5. Keep the plastic cover on the device during transport because of the possibility of breaking the
modelling lamp and flash lamp. This can lead to an injury.
6. Be careful when using a snoot reflector with the modelling lamp turned on. Snoot reflector is an
accessory which causes bad ventilation and this can lead to fire or the device and snoot reflector can
be damaged.
7. Be careful when using reflector with barn doors and plastic colour filters. Not all the plastic filters are
heat-resistant. The filters can be burnt and hurt you or damage your studio equipment.
8. When you are done with photographing always turn the device off (button no. 10) and unplug the power
cable. This protects the device from voltage fluctuations which can damage the device or cause fire.
9. In case of malfunction, always contact the professional Fomei service.
2. Preparing the product for use
1. Remove the studio flash from the box.
2. Mount the light on the light stand or on ceiling support system. To secure the light in place,
use the fixing screw.
3. Remove the cover of the lamp with the help of the bayonet lock.
4. Install the reflector, the softbox or other accessories.
5. Connect the electric cable into the light and connect the power cable into the wall outlet.
6. Switch on the power switch to turn the light on.
7. The studio flash is ready for work in the photostudio.

5. Specifications
6. Using your flash head
1. The light intensity, power output and all other settings are set to minimum levels. These are the factory
default settings .
2. Before you switch the flash on, check the light intensity of the modelling lamp and flash.
3. Connect the synchro cable to the synchro connector.
4. Switch the equipment on. The blue control light comes on.
5. Never forget to discharge the residual voltage before switching the flash off.
7. Maintenance
1. How to change the modelling lamp
- Before changing the lamp, let the equipment cool down.
- Be careful not to leave dirt or fingerprints on the lamp. After lamp replacement, clean the lamp with
soft and dry cloth.
2. How to change the fuse
- First, disconnect the AC input cord.
- Open the fuse cover and remove the fuse.
- Check the fuse and if it is broken, replace with a new one.
3. Flash maintenance
- During storage, keep the flash lamp free from dust and dirt.
- Dirt and grease on the reflector and on the flash lamp will shorten their operating life. Dirt decreases
the colour temperature of the emitted light. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.
* Notes: If the voltage in the wall outlet is lower than the required voltage, full recharge may not be possible.
Check the wall outlet voltage before connecting the equipment. The manufacturer reserves the right
to change the specification of the product, without previous notice whatsoever.

8. Troubleshooting

Light-sensitive diode is not
functioning
Diode is turned off. Check, whether or not the CELL
button is turned on.
The infrared light cannot reach
the IR sensor.
Change the position of the
infrared light, so it can reach
