1 - OVERVIEW INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction to ECOVENT Service Manual
The Basics:
1) Technicians should be authorized to work on Franke Equipment and be bonded HVAC ventilation
system contractors or employees trained and qualified to diagnose and repair ventilation
equipment.
2) The Franke ECOVENT Exhaust Treatment System is designed to reduce odors in exhaust air by
producing low levels of ozone (O3) using ultra-violet light generated by a single 135-watt UVC
lamp mounted inside a protective enclosure.
3) Unit is designed with a safety power-cutoff system to avoid accidental exposure to ultra violet
light while working on the unit.
4) This unit operates on 90-120-volt or 220-240-volt power and is provided with a 10’ power cord.
Suggested [On-Truck] Repair Parts:
We suggest these parts to ensure a first-trip fix of ECOVENT:

WARNING!!!
Disconnect unit from its power source whenever servicing electrical
components or opening the front service access panels. Failure to unplug
unit may result in electric shock, burns or death.
CAUTION!
Avoid direct exposure to ultraviolet light. Direct and prolonged exposure
to UVC light can cause eye burns or skin burns, with increased risk of
developing skin cancer.
