2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Attention!
To protect oneself against electric shock, risk of injury and fire, basic safety measures
must be observed when using electric tools!
Before operating this electric tool, read all operating and safety instructions. Please
keep the safety instructions for future reference.
Installation
After taking the electric tool out of the packaging, first of all please check if the tool
has been damaged while in transit. Ensure that the voltage and frequency rating of the
power outlet you use matches the requirements of this tool - if not, there is danger of

mm2. Damaged flexes must be replaced by a flex of the same type.
Check the wheel guard of the grinding disc. It has to be securely mounted, the apex
angle must not be more than 180° and it must be neither deformed nor damaged.
3. GRINDING DISC
3.1 Do only use reinforced discs with a safety limit concerning the grinding speed of
not less than 80 m/s. They must not be used beyond their expiration date. Do not use
wet discs. Unplug the tool before replacing the disc.
3.2 Only use discs that have been certified by MPA!
3.3 If you detect any damage after unpacking the tool, it has to be checked by a
qualified electrician. Disconnect it from the power supply before you open the tool.

4. FOR SAFE OPERATIONS
1) Keep work area clean.
Cluttered areas and benches invite injuries.
2) Consider work area environment.
Do not expose power tools to rain. Do not use power tools in damp or wet locations.
Keep work area well lit. Do not use power tools where there is risk to cause fire or
explosion.
3) Guard against electric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes, radiators, ranges,
refrigerators).
4) Keep children away.
Do not let visitors touch the tool or extension condo all visitors should be kept away
from area.
5) Store idle tools.
When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry, high or locked up place, out of reach
of children.
6) Do not force the tool.
It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.
7) Use the right tool.

Do not force small tools or attachments to do the job of a heavy-duty tool. Do not use
tools for purposes not intended; for example, do not use circular saws to cut tree limbs
or logs.
8) Dress properly.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelers; they can be caught in moving parts. Rubber
gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Wear
protecting hair covering to contain long hair.
9) Use safety glasses.
10) Connect dust extraction equipment.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities
ensure these are connected and properly used.
11) Do not abuse the cord.
Never carry the tool by the cord or yank it to disconnect it from the socket, Keep the
cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
12) Secure work.
Use clamps or a vice to hold the work. It is safer than using your hand and it frees both
hands to operate the tool.
13) Do not overreach.
Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
14) Maintain tool with care.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for better and safer performance. Follow
instructions for lubrication and changing accessories, inspect tool cord periodically and
if damaged have it repaired by an authorized service facility. Inspect extension cords
periodically and replace, if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and
grease.
15) Disconnect tools.
When not in use, before servicing and when changing accessories such as discs, bits
and cutters.
16) Remove adjusting keys and wrenches.
Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from
the tool before turning it on.
17) Avoid unintentional starting.
Do not carry a plugged-in tool with a finger on the switch. Ensure switch is off when
plugging in.
18) Use outdoor extension leads.
When tool is used outdoors, use only extension cords intended for outdoor use.
19) Stay alert.
Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate tool when you are
tired.

Better further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully
checked to determine that it would operate properly and perform its intended
function. Check for alignment of moving parts, free running of moving parts, breakage
of parts, mounting and any other conditions that may affect its operational. A guard
or other part that is damaged could be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized
service center unless otherwise indicated in this instruction manual. Have defective
switches replaced by an authorized service facility. Do not use the tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off.
21) Warning
The use of any accessory or attachment, other than those recommended, in this
instruction manual, may present a risk of personal injury.
22) Have your tool repaired by a qualified person.
This electric tool is in accordance with the relevant safety requirements. Repairs
should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts, otherwise
this may result in considerable danger to the user.
Additional safety instructions for grinding
Check that speed marked on the wheel is equal to or greater than the rated speed of
the grinder.
Ensure that the wheel dimensions are compatible with the grinder.
Abrasive wheels shall be stored and handled with care in accordance with
manufacturer's instructions.
Inspect the grinding wheel before use; do not use chipped, cracked or otherwise
defective products.
Ensure that mounted wheels and points are fitted in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions
Ensure that blotters are used when they are provided with the bonded abrasive
product and when they are required.
Ensure that the abrasive product is correctly mounted and tightened before use and
run the tool at no-load for 30 s in a safe position, stop immediately if there is
considerable vibration or if other defects are detected. If this condition occurs, check
the machine to determine the cause.
If a guard is supplied with the tool never use the tool without such a guard.
Do not use separate reducing bushings or adapters to adapt large hole abrasive
wheels. For tools intended to be fitted with threaded hole wheel, ensure that the
thread in the wheel is long enough to accept the spindle length.
Check that the work piece is properly supported.
Do not use cutting off wheel for side grinding.
Ensure that sparks resulting from use do not create a hazard e.g. do not hit persons

or ignite flammable substances.
Ensure that ventilation openings are kept clear when working in dusty conditions. If
it should become necessary to clear dust, first disconnect the tool from the mains
supply (use nonmetallic objects) and avoid damaging internal parts.
Always use eye and ear protection. Other personal protective equipment such as
dust mask. Gloves, helmet and apron should be worn.
The wheel continues to rotate after the tool is switched off.

Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with house hold waste. Please
recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local Authority or retailer for recycling
advice.
5. OPERATION
The Line voltage must not exceed the respective specification on the electric tool
by more than +10%.
Check the grinding disc. It must neither be damaged, wet nor cracked. For safety
reasons operate the electric tool idling for one minute after having replaced a
grinding disc. Pay attention to unusual sounds or emerging sparks. Check
afterwards if all parts have been mounted properly.
This electric tool has a special switch. To turn it on push the button into the position
"I". If you then slightly press the button it goes back to the position "0".
Caution! Only press the locking pin when the engine has completely stopped!
For replacing the grinding disc disconnect the electric tool from the power supply.
Then press the locking pin to block the gears. Loosen the Locking nut by using the
hook wrench. Tighten the Locking nut after replacing the grinding disc.

Both carbon brushes have to be replaced at the same time when worn down to 5
mm. They have to match the measures as detailed in the picture below.
For the best abrasive effect move the electric tool steady-going with an angle of 15
to 30 degree (between abrasive disc and workpiece). Do not press the tool too
powerfully against the workpiece when working on an inclined surface. When the
rotation speed of the tool is dropping considerably, you have to reduce the
pressure to ensure a safe and efficient operation. If the tool slows down completely
or is jammed, the power supply has to be turned off immediately.
Situations in which the electric tool must not be used anymore:
-When insulation, flex or bend protection are damaged
-When plug or switch are damaged or only have loose contact
-When the grinding disc is rotating unevenly and/or in case of intense sparking the
electric tool has to be repaired immediately. It must then not be operated anymore.
Always keep the electric tool clean. The vent holes have to be kept free and there
must net be any contaminant, as e.g. chipping in the holes.
Do always handle the electric tool with care and caution. Avoid cuffs against the
grinding disc. Grinding discs must never get wet nor freeze
Do not overload the electric tool. Do only operate it within the specified range of
capacity.
6. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
This electric tool is operating with a very high r.p.m. Therefore, it is necessary to
clean the spindle bearing regularly and to replenish or change the bearing grease.

The electric tool has to be regularly checked for correct operation and, if applicable,
repaired. The inspection comprehends flex, wires and electric connections inside
the tool, plug, switch, insulation, carbon brushes, grinding disc, spindle bearing,
moving parts, etc.
In order to avoid accidents, the electric tool has to be disconnected from the power
supply before any maintenance or repair takes place
If the electric tool has been operated in a damp environment or not been used for
a long time the insulation resistance between enclosure and coil has to be
measured before using the tool again. Use an instrument in the MΩrange at a
direct voltage of ca. 500 V for this purpose. The coil has to be dried if the insulation
resistance is less than 7 M Ω. If the electric tool is damaged, it has to be repaired
by qualified personnel.
Unsuitable tools and improper repairs can cause injuries. The electric tool might be
damaged.
In this case, the manufacturer bears no responsibility for injuries or damage and
the warranty will lapse.
