BEFORE USING THIS PULLER, READ THIS MANUAL COMPLETELY
AND THOROUGHLY, UNDERSTAND ITS OPERATING PROCEDURES
AND SAFETY WARNINGS. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD CAUSE
ACCIDENTS RESULTING IN SERIOUS OR FATAL PERSONAL
INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
The use of pullers is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented
by mechanical means, but only by the exercise of intelligence, care, and
common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel
involved in the use and operation of equipment who are careful,
competent, trained, and qualied in the safe operation of the equipment
and its proper use. Examples of hazards are part breakage resulting in
ying parts, slipping and dropping of components to be pulled caused
primarily by not using guards or protective blankets over the components,
improperly securing adjustments on the puller, improperly securing
components to be puller, overloading and o-center loads.
It is the responsibility of the owner to make sure all personnel read this
manual prior to using this device. It is also the responsibility of the device
owner to keep this manual intact and in a convenient location for all to see
and read. If the manual is lost or not legible, contact Freedom Industrial
Hydraulics for a free replacement. If the operator is not uent in English,
the product and safety instructions shall be read to and discussed with
the operator in the operator’s native language by the purchaser/ owner or
his designee, making sure that the operator comprehends its contents.

IMPORTANT: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATING
WARNING
• These pullers should be used by trained personnel familiar with them.
• Select the proper size and capacity of the puller for job.
• Align the puller on the same centerline as the part being removed.
Failure to align parts correctly can result in a dangerous operating
situation because of the high hydraulic pressure used. Self-centering
models can be aligned on the centerline after the pullers fully engaged
with the part.
• Wrap the work in the attached protective blanket before applying
pressure to provide protection from injury caused by ying parts should
a part ever break.
• Always apply force gradually.
• Never heat the part to be removed, when the puller connect with the
part. The heating can result in the damage on the parts of puller.
SETUP & OPERATION
NOTE: These pullers have a 2/3-way combination puller head,
The 3-way combination is strongly recommended whenever the
job space allows for it. Three jaws give a more secure grip and
more even pulling force.
1. Select the proper size and capacity of puller needed for the job,
which is determined by measuring “ reach “ and “ spread “ of the
part to be pulled.
2. Screw the foldable handle into the handle clevis (Fig. 1 on back).
3. Turn the control valve knob completely in a clockwise direction
to advance the piston (Fig. 2).
4. PULLER LOCATING: Position puller and puller jaws around
the part to be pulled, removing most of the slack by threading
the puller body forward or adjusting the puller straps on the jaws.
Pump the handle to advance the piston as fast extending, stopping
just as the removable cone touches the part. Make nal puller
positioning adjustments with the piston. The puller must be on the
same centerline as the part to be pulled and the jaws fully engaged
and secure. The puller head must be fully engaged with the
threads of the puller body (Fig. 3).
5. The handle rotates a full 360° to allow the best location for
pumping as below (Fig. 4).
6. Hold the puller with one hand and pump the handle with the
other hand, advancing the piston until the part is removed (Fig. 5).
7. Turn the control valve knob completely in a counterclockwise
direction to retract the piston (Fig. 6).
