Overview
MDVR, part number IPS700A, is a medical digital video recorder from FSN Medical Technologies.
It is intended to record and store video and still image from operating devices for later playback
or transfer to other media.
MDVR is an advanced high quality video processing system that has built-in capabilities for signal
source selection, multiple resolutions, and control through RS232C, TCP/IP or Android app.
Recording medical digital video is easy with MDVR. An accompanying control tablet runs the in-
tuitive user interface and gives quick access to options for setup, recording, capture, le storage,
patient information, play back, and data backup functions.
In addition, capture and recording can be controlled through an endoscopic camera head but-
tons or a foot pedal accessory.
All recorded les are stored on MDVR’s internal hard disk drive. These stored les can then
be played back on a display monitor, or restored to variety of media including external drives,
memory sticks, DVDs, Blu‐ray disks, and network servers.
All MDVR inputs correspond with universal standards that accept VGA, DVI‐D (up to 1920x1080
resolution), composite video, and S‐video inputs.

Caution
CAUTION
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK
DO NOT OPEN
This symbol alerts the user that important literature concerning the operation of this unit
has been included. Therefore, it should be read carefully in order to avoid potential problems.
This symbol warns the user that un-insulated voltage within the unit may have sucient
magnitude to cause electrical shock. Therefore, it is dangerous to make contact with any part
inside the unit.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, DO NOT remove cover (or back). There are no user service-
able parts inside. Refer servicing to qualied service personnel.
To prevent re or shock hazards, do not expose this unit to rain or moisture. Also, do not use this
unit’s polarized plug with an extension cord receptacle or other outlets unless the prongs can be
fully inserted.
The equipment is designed to meet the medical safety requirements for a patient vicinity device.
This device may not be used in connection with life support equipment.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Classication:
UL safety Compliance:
This system is U.L. Classied WITH RESPECT TO ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE AND MECHANICAL HAZ-
ARDS ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH UL 60601-1/CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 601.1
EEC Safety Compliance:
This system meets the requirements of EN-60601-1 so as to conform to the Medical Device Direc-
tive 93/42/EEC (general safety information). Use 120V rating 5-15P type plug only in the U.S. This
system is intended for connection to a separate medical grade power supply.
Caution: Make sure the power cord is the correct type that is required in your area.
This system has a universal power supply that allows operation in either 100-120V AC or 200-
240V AC voltage areas (no user adjustment is required).
Use the proper power cord with correct attachment plug type. If the power source is 120 V AC,
use a power cord which is a Hospital Grade Power Cord with NEMA 5-15 style plug, labeled for
125 volts AC with UL and C-UL approvals.

English - 7
FSN1949 - 4/2014
If the power source is a 240 V AC supply, use the tandem (T blade) type attachment plug with
ground conductor power cord that meets the respective European country’s safety regulations.
The hospital-grade plug for medical products intended for use in Denmark has DEMKO approval
and is rated 13 amps at 250Vac. Plug is recommended for use in medical applications and speci-
cations are being added to the standard SB 107-2-D1. Plug mates with maker’s Danish hospital-
grade socket. Hospital sockets have slightly dierent shaped openings allowing only the hospital
plug, not the standard Danish plug, to be inserted, to protect the ac circuit in specic medical
settings.

Connect Output to Video Display
MDVR has connections to receive signals as DVI-D, VGA, CVBS, and S-Video. Specic applications
will determine the type of input signal sources that will be connected to MDVR. Never use this
system with damaged cords. Keep all cords away from areas where they may cause tripping.
MDVR can play back recorded images and video to a connected display monitor. Output connec-
tion choices are DVI-D, VGA, and CVBS.
