INTRODUCTION
The all new TWISTER 2 SERIES, which is comprised of a T2-DTXW
DATA/IR TRANSMITTER and a T2-DRX DATA/IR RECEIVER is
designed for applications requiring the transport of RS-232 data and/or
IR control data over long distances on UTP (Cat 5, 5E, 6) type cable.
Cable runs of over 1000 feet are within the capabilities of the product.
These high quality devices ensure reliable, error free data transmission
that is immune to interference from electrical noise.
FEATURES

Installation and Operation
Mount the units as appropriate for the particular installation.
There are tapped holes on the top and bottom of the T2-DRX for mount-
ing. Use screws that protrude through no longer than 1/2".
The T2-DTXW resembles standard duplex outlet shape and will mount
into a standard gang box. Connect the RJ-45 jack and power supply
leads BEFORE mounting the unit in the gang box. Always check for
cable clearance while mounting.
The input power connector is NOT polarity sensitive and should be con-
nected to the provided supply to both the transmitter and receiver. Do
not plug in the supplies until all cables are tested.
UTP Installation
Install and terminate the UTP cable, taking note of the following. The
cable must be terminated using the EIA/TIA-568B standard pairing.
Where possible, the use of pre terminated, pretested cables is highly
recommended. If field termination is required, be sure to use a commer-
cially available cable tester to confirm the proper wiring.
While Cat 5/5E cables are the most commonly used with the system
other types of UTP cable can be used successfully.
RS-232 Installation
Connect the RS-232 output of the PC or control system to the T2-DTXW
transmitter module "SERIAL IN" DB-9 female port. Connect the periph-
eral to the T2-DRX "SERIAL OUT" DB-9 male port. (See pinout)
IR Control Installation
Confirm and observe polarity on all external devices before proceed-
ing.
Connect the IR output device to the 3.5mm jack on the face of the T2-
DTXW Transmitter.
Connect the IR emitter(s) to the pluggable phoenix connector on the T2-
DRX Receiver using the wiring diagram provided. Emitters are available
from FSR. Use FSR part number 28397.
Once the interconnect cables are tested, Plug in both power supplies and
perform a final operation check.
