Chapter 1. Installation
1.1. Safety rules
1.- Never place the equipment next to hot sources.
2.- Never undergo the equipment to temperatures that exceed the level of operation of the device.
3.- Do not expose the equipment to dripping or splashing.
4.- Do not place objects filled with liquids on the equipment.
5.- Respect ventilation slots of this equipment. Avoid covering them with any object.
6.- Keep clean and without obstacles a minimum radius of 40 cm around this equipment.
7.- Avoid locations with possibilities of spilling liquids on the inside of the device, and with important changes of
temperature.
8.- Use the equipment only in moderate climates (not in tropical climates).
9.- Never open the cover of the power supply due to electric risk. In case of problems, go always to qualified
technicians.
10.-Never, under no circumstances, open the equipment connected to the electrical net.
11.-During the handling it is better to disconnect the equipment of the electrical net.
12.-Respect the electricity security rules during the assembling. Use materials that obey the current law.
13.-The connecting plug must be accessible in a fast and simple way to have a fast disconnection.
14.-Never touch the plug with wet hands. Also, disconnect always the device before handling the connections.
15.-Never put any heavy object over the device, as it could get damaged.
16.-If the equipment is going to remain some time without use, it is recommendable to disconnect it from the electrical
net.
17.-The repairmen and the maintenance of the equipment must be done by TV and radio specialist technicians.

1.3. Description and connections
The HLA-ST amplifier can be used as:
RF headends: If we adjust its terrestrial and satellite inputs separately TER and SAT. The input (SAT+TER) will only
input the satellite IF signal and the TER input will only input the terrestrial signal.
Line amplifier: If we adjust its inputs as combined using the SAT+TER input to pass through both bands and the TER
input will be disconnected.
It allows feed devices connected by its inputs or its output. The amplifier has a fixed slope to correct for both terrestrial
and satellite band inputs. It also has gain and slope adjustment via switches for each band.

2. TERR IN: This is the terrestrial input when the amplifier is not
in combined mode
3. TEST: TEST RF output -30 dB
4. OUT RF: RF Output
5. SAT Att: Satellite gain adjustment
6. DC 18V SAT+TER IN: This Switch allows or not feed power
+18Vdc to the input SAT+TERR IN.
7. SAT Slope: Satellite slope adjustment
8. Terrestrial input selection: Select the input TER IN or combine
in the input SAT-TER IN. This switch select between
headend or line amplifier mode.
9. DC OUT 12V: Allows feed12 volts to the input TER IN.
10. TERR ATT: Terrestrial gain adjustment.

TERR SLOPE: Terrestrial slope adjustment

DC 18V OUT RF: This switch allows or not feed a18Vdc to a
device connected to the output RF.

LIGTH INDICATOR 12V: This light is on when the 12Vdc is
active
14.
Power: This light is on when the 18Vdc is active.
