1. INTRODUCTION
QuickSnap Night & Day is a high-performance one-time-use camera featuring an additional
flash setting called Night Scene Flash mode, which can be used in both bright and dark situ-
ations to produce higher image quality than that possible with any other current QuickSnap
model.
(1) Smart Flash Mode for Greatly Enhanced Background Depiction
The following new technologies provide QuickSnap Night & Day with vastly improved ca-
pacity to render background details that have been hard to capture with one-time-use cam-
eras until now. When used in night scenes or dimly lit rooms, this camera produces bright,
beautiful images of foreground people as well as the background.
i. One-touch Night Scene Flash Mode Switching Mechanism
A one-touch switching mechanism has been newly developed and incorporated as
part of the regular flash ON/OFF switch. Switching to Night Scene Flash mode auto-
matically changes the aperture to F6.2 and shutter speed to 1/45 sec, allowing back-
grounds to be captured with high brightness. At the same time, a flash visor incorpo-
rated in the flash unit pops up to reduce the amount of light striking the main subject.
The result is the ability to not only properly expose the subject in the foreground but
also capture the background with a high level of brightness.
(The aperture and shutter speed when the regular flash is ON or OFF are F14 and 1/120
sec, respectively.)
ii. Newly Developed Bright Two-element Plastic Lens (F6.2)
At F6.2, the newly developed high-performance, two-element lens incorporated into
this camera is the brightest* among one-time-use cameras. Thanks to its two-ele-
ment construction, the lens renders peripheral image areas with enhanced quality.
(*As of Nov. 2004)
(2) High Image Quality during Outdoor Daylight Shooting with Use of Regular Flash
The F14 aperture and 1/120 sec shutter speed during regular flash use allow images to
be captured with sharper details in near scenery as well as far. Moreover, use of the
regular flash for main subjects that are shaded or lit from behind produces photos with a
balanced illumination on the main subject and background.
(3) Black Body with High-quality Feel
QuickSnap Night & Day Flash features a white body and label design that makes this
model more camera-like than any of the current QuickSnap models, conveying a high-
quality feel that matches the high-performance of the QuickSnap Night & Day.

Procedure I
(Fig. 1)
Insert a 2.5 mm screwdriver blade about 5 mm into the
blade insertion point of the cartridge compartment lid.
The QuickSnap Night & Day Flash body (manufactured components) can be recycled.

5. HANDLING PROCEDURES FOR LABORATORY PROCESSING
CAUTIONS
• To avoid injury while opening the QuickSnap with a screwdriver or similar tool,
do not place your hand in front of the blade.
• Always wear goggles when removing the film cartridge and/or battery because
fragments of broken plastic may fly off.
• The electronic flash unit built into the main body works on very high voltages.
To avoid suffering electrical shock, do not remove the outer casing, disas-
semble the body, take out components, or touch the circuit board inside.
5-1 Film Cartridge Removal
Before removing the 35 mm film cartridge, verify that the film has been completely rewound
into the cartridge (the exposure counter should indicate "0"). If the film is not completely re-
wound, take one of the following two courses of action:
(1) If the last frame (corresponding to "1" in the frame counter window) has been exposed but
film has not been advanced yet, wind the film until "0" appears in the frame counter window.
(2) If more than one exposure remains, cover the lens in a dark location and then keep on
pressing the shutter and winding the film until the frame counter window shows "0".

Procedure II
(Fig. 2)
Using the screwdriver as a lever, move it downward to
open the cartridge cover lid. During this procedure be
careful not to scratch the battery inside.
Procedure III
(Fig. 3)
Turn the camera upside down and allow the cartridge to
fall out into the palm of your hand.

6. PROCESSING LABORATORY HANDLING
The procedure for film extraction, cutting and identification label application, and the handling
procedures for continuous reel, hanger and Minilab processing are basically the same as those
for the current QuickSnap Flash SUPERIA X-TRA. Make sure, however, that the film extraction
length, leading end cut length, and identification label position conform to the specifications
indicated in the following figure:
1120 mm or 26 perforations (max.)
2Leading end length
3Film extraction length
4Identification label position
5Cut location
Together, the film extraction length and leading end length should not total more than 120 mm.
7. PROCESSING AND PRINTING CONDITIONS
(1) Processing Conditions
Process the film with CN-16, CN-16Q, CN-16FA, CN-16L, CN-16S, C-41 or equivalent
processing chemicals.
(2) Automatic Printer Conditions
Please set a new channel for SUPERIA X-TRA 1600, using the same channel settings as for
SUPERIA 200.
8. PARTS RECYCLING
In line with Fujifilm's efforts to protect the environment, photofinishers are kindly urged to send
the used camera bodies to Fujifilm for recycling.
The basic color is green.
