Accessing the drain pump, float switch, or heat e changer
For Models ARU9RLF, ARU12RLF, ARU18RLF, and ARU24RLF
ALWAYS SHUT POWER OFF BEFORE ANY WORK IS PERFORMED!!
To access the condensate pump or the float switch remove all the screws from
under the unit. The only way to access the float and pump is from the bottom of the
unit. You will also need to remove the screws from the supply and return flanges to
allow the bottom to come off.
Once bottom of the unit is remove the foam drain pan will be e posed. To remove the drain pan
remove the screws shown below. Then pull down the foam drain pan. Pull the return side down
first.
Once the foam drain pan has been removed the coil, pump, and float switch should all be
e posed. You will now be able to remove and replace the pump or float switch if needed.
To remove the pump first take out the 4
screws that mount the pump to the
unit. See the arrows to the left to locate
screws.
After the screws are removed pull the
pump down. Then cut the zip tie
holding the drain hose onto the pump.
The only thing that should be holding
the pump in the unit are the wires.
Follow the 2 yellow pump wires. They
should go near the fan and then to the
controller board. Unplug the blue plug
at the controller board and pull the
wires towards the pump to completely
remove the pump.
If the float switch is the
problem the pump will
need to be removed first to
gain access to the float
switch. Once the pump is
removed you will see the 2
screws that hold the float
screws that hold the float
switch in place. Remove
the 2 screws to remove the
float switch from the unit.
You can now replace the
float switch or the pump.
