1. SAFETYPRECAUTIONS
•The“SAFETYPRECAUTIONS”indicatedinthismanualcontainimpor-
tantinformationpertainingtoyoursafety.Besuretoobservethem.
•Requesttheusertokeepthismanualonhandforfutureuse,suchasfor
relocatingorrepairingtheunit.
WARNING
Thismarkindicatesprocedureswhich,ifimprop-
erlyperformed,mightleadtothedeathorserious
injuryoftheuser.
Eachterminalmarkedwith shallbesecurelyconnectedtogrounding,
notallowedtobeblank.
Performelectricalworkbyanauthorizedservicepersonnelinaccor-
dancewiththismanualandtheelectricalwiringregulationsorimple-
mentationregulationsofthecountry.Alsodonotinstallthisunitby
yourself.Improperelectricworkwillcauseelectricshockorare.
Performinstallationworkinaccordancewiththismanual.Requestan
authorizedservicepersonneltoperforminstallationwork.Donotinstall
thisunitbyyourself.Improperinstallationwillcauseinjury,electric
shock,re,etc.
Intheeventofamalfunction(burningsmell,etc.),immediatelystop
operation,turnofftheelectricalbreaker,andconsultauthorizedservice
personnel.
Installaleakagecircuitbreakertopowersupplycableinaccordance
withtherelatedlawsandregulationsandelectriccompanystandards.
Useapowersourceexclusivelyforthisunit.Neversharethepower
sourcewithotherelectricalequipment.Doingsowillcausereand
electricshock.
Donotinstalltheunitinthefollowingareas:
•Donotinstalltheunitnearasourceofheat,steam,orammablegas.
•Arealledwithmineraloilorcontainingalargeamountofsplashedoil
orsteam,suchasakitchen.Itwilldeteriorateplasticparts,causingthe
partstofailortheunittoleakwater.
•Areathatgeneratessubstancesthatadverselyaffecttheequipment,
suchassulfuricgas,chlorinegas,acid,oralkali.Itwillcausethecop-
perpipesandbrazedjointstocorrode,whichcancauserefrigerant
leakage.
•Areacontainingequipmentthatgenerateselectromagneticinterfer-
ence.Itwillcausethecontrolsystemtomalfunction,preventingthe
unitfromoperatingnormally.
•Areathatcancausecombustiblegastoleak,containssuspended
carbonbersorammabledust,orvolatileinammablessuchaspaint
thinnerorgasoline.Ifgasleaksandsettlesaroundtheunit,itcan
causeare.
•Donotusetheunitforspecialpurposes,suchasstoringfood,raising
animals,growingplants,orpreservingprecisiondevicesorartobjects.
Itcandegradethequalityofthepreservedorstoredobjects.
•Installtheunitinawell-ventilatedplaceavoidingrainsanddirectsun-
light.
Donotoperatethisunitwhenyourhandsarewet.Touchingtheunitwith
wethandswillcauseanelectricshock.
Ifchildrenmayapproachtheunit,takepreventivemeasuressothatthey
cannotreachtheunit.
CAUTION

erlyperformed,mightpossiblyresultinpersonal

Payabundantcarewhentransportingthisunitbecauseitisaprecision

connectiondestination.Donotturnonthepoweragainuntilinstallation

Usespeciedcablesoraccessorycablestoconnecttothisunit.
Donotmodifythecablestoconnectthisunitotherthanthosespecied,
donotuseextensioncables,anddonotuseindependentbranchwiring.
Itmaycauseelectricshockorre.
Installthetransmissioncablessecurelytotheterminalblock.Conrm
thatexternalforceisnotappliedtothecable.Usetransmissioncables
madeofthespeciedcable.Ifintermediateconnectionorinsertionx-
ingareimperfect,itwillcauseelectricshock,re,etc.
Whenconnectingthecablestothisunit,routethecablessothatthe
coverofthisunitissecurelyxed.Ifthecoverisimperfectlyxed,itmay
causereoroverheatingoftheterminals.
Performearth(ground)workpositively.Donotconnecttheearth(ground)
cabletoatelephonecable,waterpipe,orconductorrod.
Alwaysfastentheoutsidecoveringofthecableswiththecableclamp.(If
theinsulatorischafed,electricleakagemayoccur.)
Performallwiringworkssothattheuserdoesnottouchthewiring.
Otherwise,injuryorelectricshockcouldresult.
Ifanycableisdamaged,donotrepairormodifyityourself.Improper
workwillcauseelectricshockorre.
CAUTION
Donotbindtheremotecontrollercableandthetransmissioncable
togetherwithorparalleltothepowersupplycableoftheindoorand
outdoorunits.Itmaycauseerroneousoperation.
Whenperformingwiringwork,becarefulnottodamagethecableor
injureyourself.Also,connecttheconnectorssecurely.Looseconnec-
torswillcausetrouble,heating,re,orelectricshock.
Installtheindoorandoutdoorunits,powersupplycable,transmission
cableandremotecontrolcable1m(40in.)awayfromtelevisionandra-
diotoavoiddistortedimagesandnoise.Otherwise,amalfunctioncould
result.
Performwiringsothatwaterdoesnotenterthisunitalongtheexternal
wiring.Alwaysinstallatraptothewiringortakeothercountermeasures.
Otherwiseitwillcausetroubleorelectricshockorre.
Conrmthenameofeachunitandnameofeachterminalblockofthe
unitandconnectthewiringinaccordancewiththedirectionsgivenin
themanualsothatthereisnoincorrectwiring.Incorrectwiringwilldam-
agetheelectricpartsandcausesmokeandre.
Wheninstallingtheconnectioncablesnearasourceofelectromagnetic
waves,useshieldedcable.
Otherwise,abreakdownormalfunctioncouldresult.
Theterminalscrewsandearth(ground)screwshavedifferentshapes.
Besuretoinstallthescrewsinthecorrectlocations.Ifthescrewsare
installedinthewronglocations,thecircuitboardcouldbedamaged.

thestateoftheinstallationparts.Notusingthespeciedpartswillcause
unitstofalloff,electricshock,re,etc.
Installataplacethatcanwithstandtheweightoftheunitandinstall
positivelysothattheunitwillnottoppleorfall.
Wheninstallingthisunit,makesurethattherearenochildrennearby.
Otherwise,injuryorelectricshockcouldresult.

(1) Removethe4screws(M4×6mm),andthenremovethecover.
(2) Removethedustproofbushingandopentheknockouthole.
(3) Installtheconduit.
(4) Fixtheconduitwithlocknut.
(5) Passthepowersupplycablethroughtheconduit.
(6) Connectthepowersupplycabletotheirrespectiveterminalblock.
(7) Thenconrmthatthecablewillnotcomeout.

(2) MakeaholeinthecenterofthedustproofbushingwiththePhillips

(3) Passthepowersupplycablethroughtheholeofdustproofbushing
andpullitintotheMODBUSconvertor.
(4) Connectthepowersupplycabletotheirrespectiveterminalblock.
(5) Securelytightenthecabletieandthenconrmthatthecablewillnot
comeout.

(2) Attachthecabletieholdertothescrewholeinthedirectionwherethe

7.2. Connectingthetransmissioncables
(1) Turnthepoweroff.
(2) Makeaholeinthecenterofthedustproofbushingusingadriver.
(3) Passthetransmissioncablesthroughtheholeofdustproofbushing
andpullitintotheMODBUSconvertor.
(4) ConnectthetransmissioncabletoterminalblocktoconnecttoVRF
network.
(5) ConnectthetransmissioncabletoaccessoryMODBUSConnectorto
connecttoMODBUSnetwork.
(6) ConnecttheMODBUScablestoRS485_A+(D+),RS485_B-(D-),and
Common(COM)accordingtothepolarityofthemasterunit.
(7) AttachtheMODBUSconnectortotheboardterminal.
(8) WhenusingMODBUScablewithshield,earth(ground)atoneendof
cable.Ifthisunitisearthed(grounded),connecttotheEarth(Ground)
terminal.DonotconnecttheshieldtotheCommon(COM).
(9) Securelytightenthecabletiesandthenconrmthatthecablewillnot
comeout.
(10)Oncethewiringofthecableshasbeencompleted,mountthecover
totheMODBUSconvertor.Usethescrews(M4×6mm)tomountthe
cover.
(11)Usethe4screws(M4×16mm)providedtomounttheMODBUS
convertortothebehindceiling,wall,oororothersuitablelocation.
