1. Position the extractor on level ground, in a convenient and safe area. Ensure
that the extraction arm will easily reach the operators workplace and the front
wheels are locked.

1. Check the power supply cable for damage, if any damage is visible, it must only be replaced by the manufacturer or qualied
electrician to avoid a hazard.
2. Check that the extraction arm hose is not split or damaged, as this will reduce the eciency of the unit.
3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the power supply cable, plug or extractor in water or other liquid.
4. Our extractors are designed for interior use only and should not be used outside in wet conditions.
SAFE OPERATION
2. Insert supply cable plug into an appropriate electrical socket. Ensure that the
supply cable is not a trip hazard to anyone and turn on the main switch located
at the rear of the unit.
3. The extraction hood should be aimed at the source of the welding fumes/gases
or grinding dust (MF Eco HEPA only). This should be within a distance of 400mm
away and positioned to draw the fumes/gases away from the operators face.
AIRFLOW METER (Optional extra)
If the extractor is tted with an optional airow meter, this
should show a chevron or tick when the unit is switched on. If a
cross still shows after 30 seconds of switching on the unit, this
indicates low airow.
NB. The model of Airow meter may dier from the unit shown.

CLEANING THE EXTRACTOR
Before any cleaning is undertaken, please ensure the extractor is turned o and disconnected from the mains power supply. The
main unit and extraction arm may be wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as
this could damage the extraction arm hosing.
BEFORE USE

1. Switch unit o. Disconnect electric supply cable.
CLEANING THE PRIMARY FILTER WITH THE JET-PULSE SYSTEM
When the primary lter gets dirty, the airow volume will drop o to a level where capture of contaminates is not adequate.
Activate the Jet-Pulse cleaning system. Fumex Ltd recommend, always using the Jet-Pulse Cleaning System with the extractor
outside, as some dust could be ejected from the cabinet under positive pressure.
2. Fumex Ltd recommend emptying the collection tray BEFORE cleaning the lter. Please
ensure that the correct PPE is ALWAYS worn when emptying the collection tray. PPE should
include; fully tted dust mask (with appropriate lters), disposable gloves & overalls. The
material in the collection tray should be placed in a sealed bag and MUST be disposed of in
accordance with local authority regulations.
3. With the cabinet door CLOSED, connect an airline to the self cleaning hose on the unit. Open
the valve on the unit 3 times for 10 seconds. Leave a 30 second pause between each 10
second activation. This will eject most of the loose particulate from the primary lter and will
then collect in the tray underneath.
A constant 80 psi (6bar) pressure is recommended (not over 90 psi and not below 70 psi).
Reasonably clean and dry air is required, oil and/or water will reduce lifetime of the lter.
4. Open the cabinet door and empty the collection tray. After replacing the tray, close the
cabinet door and restart the unit. The frequency of cleaning will depend on usage, but this
could be daily or weekly.
REPLACING THE FILTERS
The primary lter (round) is held in place by a M8 wingnut, the
lter will slide out horizontally once this is removed.
The HEPA lter (square) is removed by pushing upwards from
below. Care should be taken not to damage the seal (on base
of HEPA lter) when the new lter is slid into position by sup-
porting it from underneath. Old lters should be placed in a
sealed bag and disposed of in accordance with local authority
regulations. Correct PPE MUST be worn (see section 2 above).
