You can change the operating mode by connecting the
device to your PC or Smartphone (for GÄN GA+ only).
More detailed information can be found in the SETTINGS
section.
After changing the mode the device begins calibration
that takes 3 minutes. Please note that a 120 km drive is
required before the device adapts to the engine control
unit.
GÄN GA/GA+ device has 3 operating modes (pic .1)
DYNAMIC- power increasing mode (By default)
STOCK (OFF) – turn off device
ECO – fuel saving mode

1. Find OBD-II connector in your vehicle.
Usually it is located under the steering wheel of the car.
You can find the exact location of the OBD-II connector
in the installation guide for your car.
2. Start your car and warm up the engine.
3. Plug device into OBD-II connector when the engine is
running.

4. Depending on specifications you will receive a device
pre-set for your car or without any settings. You can
determine if the device has any settings from the mobile
app or LED indicators (for GÄN GA+ only).
– LEDs ARE SOLID BLUE, YELLOW, RED – device is not
pre-set. You can set up the device via your PC or
Smartphone (for GÄN GA+ only), see the SETTINGS
Section.
– LED IS FLASHING RED – device is pre-set, calibration is
in progress. When plugged in for the first time, the
calibration takes 3 minutes. After the calibration is finished
the device is in the working mode (LED is solid green). A
120 km drive is required before the device adapts to the
engine control unit.

SETUP VIA PC
You need Internet connection in order to set up your
device via PC. Download GÄN PC from our website
www.gantuning.com in INSTALLATION section. Connect
the device to your PC with a Micro USB cable and run
the GÄN PC.
If your device has no vehicle specific data installed or you
would like to program it for another vehicle, choose your
vehicle in the program and click “Apply”, then necessary
settings will be sent to the device. The device has a limit
of 5 tune files for different vehicles. Retuning to the
previously selected vehicle doesn’t count.
The calibration begins after the device is installed in the
vehicle. It takes 3 minutes. A 120 km drive is required

Please note that when the engine is off Bluetooth turns
off to save your car battery. You need Internet
connection in order to set up your device via
Smartphone. Download GÄN APP from App Store (for
iOS) or Google Play (for Android).
Follow steps 1 to 3 of the INSTALLATION section.
Connect to your device from the application. Enter the
last 6 digits of the serial number of your device as a
password.
If your device has no vehicle specific data installed or
you would like to set it up for another vehicle, select
your vehicle in the application. Then necessary settings
will be sent to the device (pic. 2). The device has a limit
of 5 tune files for different vehicles. Re-tuning to the
previously selected vehicle doesn’t count.

(FOR GÄN GA+ ONLY)

MY VEHICLE
In this section you can change tuning files of GÄN GA+
in case you installed your device in another vehicle. You
can give a name to your device so you can easily find it
from the list of available devices. Just click on the
current name in MY VEHICLE and enter a new name.
ENGINEERING MENU
CUSTOM by GÄN. If your device has any issues with
connection protocol in the automatic mode or other
issues, our technicians can set up vehicle specific
settings which can be applied by clicking this button.
You can use this function only after you consult with
our technical support.
14 SETTINGS SECTION IN THE APPLICATION

CUSTOM by USER. PROTOCOL SETUP. This section is
applied to manually program your device in case of
malfunction. There are 12 connection protocols. The
device determines the connection protocol
automatically (Auto select protocol). You can also
choose a connection protocol manually by clicking
left/right arrows beside a protocol name. The device
automatically selects the STBY mode (U or S).

CUSTOM BY USER. STBY SETUP. This section will help
you set the Sleep mode. We recommend you to use
Auto STBY.
U– the device wakes up depending on the voltage. As a
rule voltage from the generator is higher with the
engine running than voltage from the battery when the
engine is off.
S– the device wakes up from the signals on the wires.
LED INDICATION. You can switch on/off the LED
indicators of the operating mode in the Settings menu.
If flashing distracts you after installation of GÄN GA+
LED, we recommend you to switch this function off.

DEVICE HAS NO DATA INSTALLED FOR A SPECIFIC
VEHICLE – LED is solid blue, yellow, red.
OPERATING MODE – LED is solid yellow. Your device
goes into the “soft indication” mode after one minute
and brightness decreases down to 50%. You can switch
the indication off via PC or Smartphone.
STBY MODE (SLEEP MODE) – LED is flashing yellow.
CALIBRATION MODE – LED is flashing red.
DATA EXCHAGE VIA BLUETOOTH (GÄN GA+ only) –
LED is flashing blue.
USB CONNECTION – LED is solid red.
OPERATING MODES AND INDICATION

HOLD more the 5 seconds – LED is solid blue, yellow,
red within 5 seconds. The device goes back to Default
setup and calibration resets. Vehicle specific settings
won’t be deleted.
Used for:
1. A full device reboot and secondary adaptation to the
vehicle.
2. In case your device doesn’t get out of the Sleep
mode when the engine is running.
3. Installation on another vehicle.
SINGLE CLICK in the STBY mode (for GÄN GA+
only)- LED is solid blue. Single click forcedly activates
Bluetooth for a period of 30 seconds. It enables you to
connect to the device in Sleep mode via Smartphone
and change any available settings.
