1 Operating The Kent
The Kent bath has an electronic system to operate the seat & bath lift. They both operate
independently on a “depress–to–run” basis; in that movement will stop if the button is
released. The hand held control uses air to operate the bath seat, and is therefore completely
safe to use with wet hands. The bath lift is operated by the white hold to run push buttons on
the top flange of the bath. An electronic sensor will not allow the seat to come into contact
with the base of the bath.
Seat Out Of Bath Operation
a) The bath needs to be in the fully lowered position, to allow the seat to traverse over the
bath side.
b) The bath seat should be lifted from its parked position in the base of the bath using the top
button, on the two-button hand control. Ensure there are no obstructions or obstacles
which may interfere with the raising or lowering of the bath. Once the seat is clear
of the bath it traverses out over the side of the bath to the 90˚position then lowers to the
height required. The sequence is reversed to traverse back into the bath.
The arms on the seat may be raised to make access to the seat easier.
Seat into Bath Operation
After the user is seated, the bottom button on the hand control should be operated to raise the
seat, the above sequence is reversed to return back into the bath. Rotation will not occur
unless the seat is in its highest position. The seat must be above the height of the bath before
the seat will rotate. Ensure that the bather is sat well back into the seat and the seat arms are
lowered.
Bath Lift Operation
The bath Up/Down buttons on the top flange of the bath are “depress–to–run” in that
movement will stop if the button is released. The bath will only lift when the seat is
positioned centrally inside the bath.
With the seat positioned centrally inside the bath, you have a choice of either lowering the
seat to a comfortable working height and then lifting the bath up to it or lifting the bath up to
a comfortable working height & lowering the seat into it. Remember that the bath and seat
work independently but cannot come into contact with each other.

Transfer Chair Unit
User Operating Instructions
Maximum User weight 22 stone / 140 kg
This unit requires the assistance of a helper to make sure it is correctly positioned for lifting
or lowering. Under no circumstances must a user sitting on the chair attempt to connect or
disconnect the chair from the lifting arm without help.
The unit is fitted with armrests, which can be raised to assist entry into the chair, lockable
casters, and a moveable footrest.
Operating Procedure
1. Position the transfer chair unit next to the user requiring bathing. Ensure there are no
obstructions or obstacles which may interfere with the raising or lowering of the bath.
Additionally, ensure there are no obstructions near the transfer trolley.
2. Lock the wheels to stop the trolley moving during user transfer, and slide the footrest back
under the chair to gain better access.
3. DO NOT permit the armrests to be utilised to assist the user into the chair, as this may
cause it to detach from the trolley.
4. Lift up the armrests and transfer the user into the chair. Ensure that the Lap Strap
is fitted - this must be worn at all times whilst using this product. This bath must only be
used with the transfer chair trolley provided.
5. Lower the armrests, re-adjust the footrest to suit the user, unlock the wheels and move the
transfer chair unit to the side of the bath local to the lifting arm.
6.With the lifting arm in the out of bath position and fully lowered, reverse the transfer chair
unit up to the side of the bath, making sure the chair is central to the lifting arm. Lock the
wheels.
7. Lift the chair up from the trolley using the push-button hand control, making sure the chair
is correctly connected to the lifting arm. Remove the trolley from the area and traverse the
chair over the bath and lower.
8. Lift the chair and traverse it to the out of bath position. Locate the trolley to receive the
chair and lower it into its secured position, making sure the chair has disconnected
completely from the lifting arm prior to moving. Re-adjust the footrest to suit the user and

Where there is a status monitor - Fig 2 fitted to the top of the bath the Green LED should be
illuminated.
Ensure the seat cannot come into contact with the bath when it is lowered inside the bath or when
the seat is traversing. –See Fig 1.
Check there are no loose cables visible including the water & waste pipes. Check all plumbing
connections for leaks.
Ensure that the handset and cable are in good condition.
Chalk mark deposits from the water or mild scratches may be removed from the bath surface with
a mild cutting fluid such as ‘T’ Cut or Brasso.
The Chrome shaft connecting the seat to the bath should be cleaned weekly using a silicone-based
furniture polish. (I.e. Mr. Sheen.) Please do not use wax-based products.
Ensure the Shepherds crook /Shower pole is firm and vertical –see below.
Make sure that the seat is unable to traverse by pushing on the seat frame when in position A. (This
