SAFE OPERATION
To ensure safe operation—
Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain conditions.
Refuel in a well ventilated area with the engine stopped.
Keep away from cigarette, smoke and sparks when refuelling the generator.
Always refuel in a well-ventilated location.
Wipe up spilled gasoline at once.
Connections for standby power to a building's electrical system must be made by
a qualified electrician and must comply with all applicable laws and electrical
codes. Improper connections can allow
electrical current from the generator to
back feed into the utility lines. Such back feed may electrocute utility company
workers or others who contact the lines during a power outage, and when utility
power is restored, the generator may explode, burn, or cause fires in the
building's electrical system.
This engine is certified to operate on the regular unleaded gasoline with a
pump octane rating of 86(RON 97) or higher.
Improper maintenance or failure to correct a problem, can cause a
malfunction in which you can be seriously hurt or killed. If service tasks are
more difficult, or required special tools, should handled by professionals or
other qualified mechanic.
Always make a pre-operation inspection before you start the engine. You may
prevent an accident or equipment damage.
lace the generator at least 3 ft (1 m) away from buildings or other equipment
during operation.
Operate the generator on a level surface.
If the generator is tiled, fuel spillage may result.
Know how to stop the generator quickly and understand operation of all the

7
controls. Never permit anyone to operate the generator without proper
instructions.
Keep children and pets away from the generator when it is in operation.
Keep away from rotating parts while the generator is running.
The generator is a potential source of electrical shocks when misused; do not
operate with wet hands.

3. COMPONENT IDENTIFICATION

10
Serial number and identification location
The engine serial number identifies your particular unit and is important when ordering parts
and accessories.
Engine serial number:158FYYMMDD0001
The serial number can be found engraved on the crankcase beside the oil filter cap. It is visible
when the left maintenance cover is removed.

11
4. PRE OPERATION CHECK
Be sure to check the oil level before each use with the generator on a level surface
with the engine stopped.
1. Check the engine oil level.
Using non detergent oil or 2-stroke engine oil could shorten the engine's service life.
Use high-detergent, premium quality 4-stroke engine oil, certified to meet or exceed
U.S. automobile manufacturer's requirements for A I Service Classification SJ or later (equivalent).
Always check the A I Service label on the oil container to be sure it includes the letter SJ or later
(equivalent).
10W-30 is recommended to for general, all-temperature use. Other viscosities show in the chart may be
used when the average temperature in your area is within the indicated ranger.
1、laced the generator on the level surface.
2、Loosen the cover screw and remove the maintenance cover.
3、Remove the oil filler cap and wipe the dipstick clean.
4、Check the oil level by inserting the dipstick into the filler neck without screwing it in.
5、If the oil level is low, refill to the upper limit of the oil filler neck with the recommended oil.
6、Screw in the oil filter cap/dipstick securely.
7、Reinstall the maintenance cover and tighten
the cover screw securely.
Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause
serious engine damage. Do not overfill the engine with oil. If the engine is overfilled, the excess oil be
transferred to the air cleaner housing and air filter

12
The Low Oil Alarm System will automatically stop the engine when the oil level
falls below the safe limit. However, to avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected
shutdown, it is still advisable to visually inspect the oil level regularly.
2. Check the uel level.
This engine is certified to operate
on the regular unleaded gasoline
with a pump octane rating of
86(RON97) or higher.
Never use stale or contaminated
gasoline or an oil/gasoline mixture.
Avoid getting the dirty and water
in the fuel tank.
When the engine is stopped,
remove the fuel tank cap and
check the fuel level. Refill the fuel
tank if the fuel level is low.
After refuelling, tighten the fuel tank cap securely.
Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive.
Stop the engine and keep heat, sparks and flame away.
Handle fuel only outdoors.
Wipe up spills immediately.
Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped
Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area where the engine is
refuelled or where gasoline is stored.
Do not overfill the fuel tank (there should be no fuel above the upper limit
mark). After refuelling, make sure the tank cap is closed properly and securely.

13
Be careful not to spill fuel when refuelling. Spilled fuel or fuel vapour may
ignite, if any fuel is spilled, make sure the area is dry before starting the
engine.
Avoid repeated or prolonged contact with skin or breathing of vapour,
KEE OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Gasoline containing alternate fuels
If you decide to use a gasoline containing ethanol, be sure its octane rating is equal to the specification. Do
not use a blend that contains more than 10% ethanol. Do not use gasoline containing methanol.
Fuel system damage or engine performance problems t h a t result from using a
fuel with percentages greater than the shown above are not covered under warranty, fuel can damage the
paint and plastic. Be carefully not to spill fuel when filling your fuel tank. Damage caused by spilled fuel is
not covered under warranty.
Turn the fuel cap lever to "OFF" position before transporting
3. Check the air cleaner.
Check the main and outer air filter to be sure it is clean and in good condition.
Loosen the cover screw and remove the left side maintenance cover. Loosen the air cleaner cover screw,
and remove the air cleaner cover, then check the main and outer air filter. Clean or replace the main and
outer air filter if necessary.
Never run the engine without the air cleaner. Rapid engine wear will result from
contaminants such as dust and dirt being drawn through the carburettor into the
engine.

14
5. STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the engine, disconnect any loads from the AC and DC terminals.
1. Turn the fuel cap vent lever fully clockwise to the “I” position.
2. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
3. Move the choke lever to the START position.

15
To restart a warm engine, leave the choke in the RUN position. Do not move the
choke to the START position when the engine is warm or the air temperature is high.
4. ull the starter grip lightly until you feel resistance then pull briskly.
Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine, return it gently to
prevent damage to the starter or housing.
5. If the choke lever was moved to the START position to start the engine, gradually move it to the RUN
position as the engine warms up.
If the engine stops and will not restart, check the engine oil level before
troubleshooting in other areas.

16
6. If you wish to use the Intelligent Throttle system, turn the Intelligent Throttle switch to the ON position
after the engine has warmed up for 2-3 minutes.
High altitude operation
At high altitude, the standard carburettor air-fuel mixture will be excessively rich. erformance will
decrease, and fuel consumption will increase. A very rich mixture will also foul the spark plug and cause
hard starting. Operation at an altitude that differs from that, at which this engine was certified, for
extended periods of time, may increase emissions.
High altitude performance can be improved by installing a smaller diameter main fuel jet in the
carburettor. If you always operate the generator at altitudes higher than 5000 feet (1500 m) above sea
level, have your authorized dealer install the high altitude main jet.
Even with suitable carburettor jetting, engine horsepower will decrease approximately 3.5% for each 1000’
(305 m) increase in altitude. The effect of altitude on the horsepower will be greater than this if no
carburettor modification is made.
When the carburettor has been modified for the high altitude operation, the air-fuel
mixture will too lean for low altitude use. Operation the generator at an altitude below
5000 feet (1500 m) with a modified carburettor may cause the engine to overheat and
result in serious engine damage. For use at low altitude, have your servicing dealer
return the carburettor to original factory specification.
Temperature
High temperature unfavourably affects generator operation. Generator performance will decrease 1% for
each 10°F (5.5° C) increase in temperature above 85°F (29°C). The normal operating range of this generator is
-20° to 113° F (-29° to 45° C)
Do not operate the generator when the ambient temperature is below -20° F (-29° C)
Do not operate the generator when the ambient temperature exceeds 113°F (45° C)

The DC receptacle can be used while the AC power is in use.
If you use both at the same time; be sure not to exceed the total power for
AC and DC.
Most appliance motors require more than their rated watt-age for start-up.
AC applications
1. Start the engine and make sure the output indicator light (green) comes on.
2. Confirm that the appliance to be used is switched off, and plug in the appliance.
Substantial overloading that continuously lights the overload indicator light(red) may
damage the generator. Marginal overloading that temporarily lights the overload
indicator light (red) may shorten the service life of the generator.
Be sure that all appliances are in good working order before connecting them to
the generator. If an appliance begins to operate abnormally, becomes sluggish, or
stops suddenly, turn off the generator engine switch immediately. Then
disconnect the appliance, and examine it for signs of malfunction.

19
Output and Overload Indicators
The output indicator light (green) will remain ON during normal operating conditions.
If the generator is overloaded (in excess of 2.0kVA), or if there is a short in the connected appliance, the
output indicator light (green) will go OFF, the overload indicator light (red) will go ON and current to the
connected appliance will be shut off.
Stop the engine if the overload indicator light (red) comes ON and investigate the overload source.
Before connecting an appliance to the generator, check that it is in good order, and that its electrical
rating does not exceed that of the generator. Then connect the power cord of the appliance, and start the
engine.
When an electric motor is started, both the overload indicator light (red) and the
output indicator light (green) may go on simultaneously. This is normal if the
over- load indicator light (red) goes off after about four (4) seconds. If the
overload indicator light (red) stays on, consult your generator dealer.

20
1. Connect the ground terminal.
2. Start each engine according to "STARTING THE ENGINE".
When the output indicator light (green) does not light and the overload indicator light (red) lights instead, set
the engine switch to STO , stop the engine at once and then start the engine again.
3. Confirm that the equipment to be used is switched off, and insert the plug of the equipment to be used
into the AC receptacle.
Confirm that the use equipment to be connected is switched off.
When the equipment to be used is switched on, it will operate suddenly, and injuries
or accidents may be caused.
