UNPACKING
Unpack carefully. There are glass parts. BE SURE TO REMOVE ALL FOAM PACKING FILLER BEFORE
APPLYING POWER TO THE UNIT. Check to ensure that the following items are included.
Steamer top, assembled complete with:
oHood Complete
oReservoir Tank (80-ES-08)
oChrome Cap & Stem (80-ES-10)
oCollection Bottle Complete (80-ES-05)
Roller Stand, assembled with:
o5 Roller Casters
oLeg Assembly
oHeight Adjust Pole w/ Knob
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE OR INSERT THE RESERVOIR TANK WHEN
UNIT IS HOT, DURING USE, OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE.
OPERATION
A. Remove reservoir tank. Unscrew the chrome cap and stem.
B. Check for the gasket inside the cap. The gasket’s function is to help seal the reservoir tank and to prevent
water from leaking.
C. Pour distilled water into the reservoir tank. Fill the reservoir tank Replace the chrome cap and stem.
D. Select the treatment intensity by using turning the temperature knob.
E. Turn the timer switch to the desired treatment time. When selecting the treatment time, please allow time
for the steamer to warm up (approximately 5 min).
DRAINING THE UNIT
Unplug the unit before performing maintenance.
A. The hair steamer should be drained at the end of each day’s use.
B. Unplug the unit before performing maintenance.
C. Allow the unit to cool down before attempting to drain the unit.
D. Prepare a pitcher or other water receptacle.
E. Locate the drain opening. Water will drain from this opening.
F. Unscrew the black plastic cap by turning counter clockwise.
G. Replace the black cap.
MAINTENANCE
All appliances should be cleaned after each use.
A. A safety check should be performed before the start of each day’s use. If unit is unsafe to use or needs
repair, please call the manufacturer for instructions on how to send your machine in for service.
B. Only distilled water should be used in the hair steamer. The use of tap water will eventually cause
malfunction of the machine, due to calcium and mineral deposits.
C. Do not use harsh chemical to clean the appliance. Use a soft brush or cloth when cleaning.

USE ONLY DISTILLED WATER WITH THIS MACHINE. DISTILLED WATER SHOULD BE
USED TO HELP PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE MACHINE. DO NOT RUN CHEMICALS
THROUGH THE APPLIANCE SUCH AS CLEANING AGENTS OR AROMA ADDITIVES.
THESE CLOG THE WATER WAYS BY LEAVING DEPOSITS.
RESERVOIR TANK IS FRAGILE. DROPPING THE RESERVOIR TANK MAY CAUSE
HAIRLINE CRACKS IN THE RESERVOIR TANK.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
When machine fails to work properly, use the following directions to detect the cause of the problem:
A. Check the power cord for proper connection.
B. Make sure the timer switch is in turned to designated time position.
C. Check the power source by connecting another electrical appliance to the AC outlet.
D. Restart the unit. Move the power switch to its OFF position. Wait 5-10 minutes before turning the steamer
back on.
E. If water is leaking, wait until the unit has cooled, then try to tighten the chrome cap cover. Check that the
gasket is in the place. If leaking persists, you may need a new reservoir tank. Use the test below to
determine if a new reservoir tank is needed.
1. Fill a cup to the brim with water
2. Fill the reservoir tank with water
3. Place the chrome stem into the cup
4. Watch to see if the water level in the cup rises
Water level rising = leak
Check to see that the cap is securely fastened
and the gasket is in place.
There may be a crack in the reservoir tank.
Replacement tank (80-ES-08)
F. Some units are equipped with a heat-sensing thermostat safety fuse. If your unit(s) becomes too hot, the
thermostat will automatically shut the unit down. After cooling to the proper temperature, the element will
operate normally.
G. If the problem persists, please contact your dealer for assistance. To prevent an electrical shock, PLEASE
DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE MACHINE.
