1. Overview
Attention: The UL Markings, ATEX Marking, and
all environmental ratings (NEMA4,
UL50 Type 4X, and IP65) have not
been validated for the QuickPanel+7”
Display when used with the adapter.
Therefore, the agency compliances
and standards do not apply to a
QuickPanel+7” Display with an
installed Adapter Kit.
Note: The use of a correctly installed adapter does
not affect the QuickPanel+product’s
compliance with CE Marking.
The QuickPanel+7” Display adapter kit facilitates
mounting the QuickPanel+7” Display into a panel with
a cutout previously sized for a QuickPanel 8” Display.
The QuickPanel+7” Display should first be inserted
into the adapter and secured using the clamps
provided with the display. The assembly is then
inserted into the 8” cutout in the customer panel.

1.4 Panel Cutout Dimensions
The QuickPanel+ 7” Display adapter kit requires the
panel cutout dimensions displayed in the following
figure.

2. Installation
Notes:
The unit will not fit through the panel cutout with
a Secure Digital (SD) card not fully inserted and
recessed in the port.
The unit will not fit through the cutout with
cables attached.
To install the QuickPanel+ 7” Display adapter
assembly
1. If there is an SD card in the QuickPanel+7”
Display SD port, remove it. Also remove any
cables that may interfere with installation.
2. Insert the QuickPanel+7” Display into the
adapter/gasket assembly until the side snaps
click into the display housing. Maintain the
orientation of the display in relation to the adapter
to ensure proper clearance around display ports
and cooling vents.

3. Adjust the mounting bracket screw so the bottom
guide on the screw contacts the bottom surface
of the metal bracket body. The guide assists with
mounting bracket insertion.

4. Install the four mounting brackets supplied with
each QuickPanel+7” Display. Use the display
housing slots and the round adapter recesses to
locate each of the brackets.

5. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, torque each
screw to a maximum of 0.11 to 0.23 Nm
(1 to 2 in-lb).

6. Insert the QuickPanel+7” Display adapter
assembly into the cutout panel as displayed in
the following figure. The gasket on the assembly
should touch the panel’s front surface once it is
fully inserted.

Verify that the rear of the assembly displays as
illustrated in the following figures. The various
ports must be oriented with the SD, MIC, and
such ports on the left, and the COM, +24 V
power, LAN, and such ports on the bottom.

7. Prior to attaching any clamps to the adapter,
insert the flat head slotted screws into each of the
four adapter mounting clamps.

Run the screws into the PEM inserts until the
taper on the screw head contacts the insert. This
promotes clearance between the screw and the
panel.

8. Using the provided slots, insert the four mounting
clamp assemblies into the adapter. Insert the
hooks of each mounting clamp into the adapter
openings as displayed in the following figures.

When the adapter brackets are installed, the
completed assembly displays as follows.

9. Using a slotted screwdriver, tighten the clamp
screws against the rear panel surface to a
maximum torque of 0.23 to 0.45 Nm (2 to 4 in-lb).
Note: Screws should be tightened applying a
uniform pressure to the adapter gasket
against the front panel surface. Mounting
clamps hold the unit in place by tension;
no drilling is required.
10. Reconnect any cables that were removed in step
1 of this procedure. If an SD card was removed,
install it in the SD port.
