WHEN USING YOUR DRYER
Never reach into the dryer while the drum is
moving. Beforeloading, unloading or adding
clothes,wait until the drum has completely
stopped.
The laundry process can reduce the flame
retardancy of fabrics.To avoid such a result,
carefully follow the garment manufacturer's
care instructions.
Cleanthe lint filter before each load to prevent lint
accumulation insidethe dryer or inthe room. DO
NOTOPERATETHEDRYERWITHOUTTHELINT
FILTERIN PLACE.
Do not wash or dry articlesthat have been
cleaned in,washed in,soaked in or spotted
with combustible or explosivesubstances (suchas
wax, oil, paint, gasoline,degreasers,dry-cleaning
solvents,kerosene,etc.).Thesesubstancesgive
off vapors that may ignite or explode. Do not add
these substancesto the wash water. Donot use
or place these substances around your washer
or dryer during operation.
Donot place items exposed to cooking oils in
your dryer. Items contaminated with cooking oils
may contribute to a chemical reaction that could
cause a clothes load to catch fire.
Any article on which you have useda cleaning
solvent or that contains flammable materials
(suchas cleaning cloths, mops,towels usedin
beauty salons,restaurants or barber shops,etc.)
must not be placed in or near the dryer until
solvents or flammable materials have been
removed.Thereare many highly flammable items
usedin homes such asacetone, denatured alcohol,
gasoline,kerosene,some household cleaners,
some spot removers,turpentines, waxes, wax
removers and products containing petroleum
distillates.
Donot dry articles containing rubber,plastic
or similar materials such aspadded bras,tennis
shoes,galoshes,bath mats, rugs, bibs,baby pants,
plastic bags, pillows,etc.that may melt or burn.
Somerubber materials, when heated, can under
certain circumstances produce fire by spontaneous
combustion.
Donot store plastic, paper or clothing that may
burn or melt on top of the dryer during operation.
Garments labeled "Dry Awag from Hea(' or "DoNot
TumbleDry" (suchas lifejackets containing Kapok)
must not be put in your dryer.
Donot dry fiberglass articlesin your dryer.
Skinirritation could result from the remaining
particlesthat may be picked up by clothing
during subsequent dryer uses.
To minimizethe possibility of electric shock, unplug
this appliance from the power supply or disconnect
the dryer at the household distribution panel by
removing the fuse or switching off the circuit
breaker before attempting any maintenance or
cleaning (exceptthe removal and cleaning of the

automatic electric ignition and doesnot have
a pilot light. DONOTATTEMPTTOLIGHTWITH
A MATCH.Burnsmay resultfrom having your hand
in the vicinity of the burner when the automatic
ignition turns on.
You may wish to soften your laundered fabrics
or reducethe static electricity in them by using
a dryer-applied fabric softener or an anti-static
conditioner. We recommend you use either a
fabric softener inthe wash cycle,according to
the manufacturer's instructions for those products,
or try a dryer-added product for which the
manufacturer giveswritten assurance on the
package that their product can be safely used
in your dryer. Serviceor performance problems
caused by useof these products are the
responsibility of the manufacturers of those
products and are not covered under the
warranty to this appliance.
Donot spray anytype of aerosol into, on,or near
dryer at anytime. Donot useany type of spray
cleaner when cleaning dryer interior. Hazardous
fumes or electrical shock could occur.
WHEN NOT USING YOUR DRYER
Graspthe plug firmly when disconnecting this
appliance to avoid damage to the cord while
pulling. Placethe cord away from traffic areas

About the drger features.
Wrinkle Care
0Wrinkle Care Option (onsomemodels)
Usethis option to minimize the wrinkles
in clothes. It provides approximately
15 minutes of no-heat tumbling after
the clothes are dry.
Thisoption can only be usedwith the Cottons
and Easy Care cycles.
Ifyou are usingthe Cycle Signal knob
and you selectthe Wrinkle Careoption,
a signalwill sound atthe end of the drying
time and several times during the Wrinkle
CAREcycle. Thiswill remind you that it istime
to remove the clothes.
If Wrinkle Care is not on, the dryer
will stop once the timer reaches the
Wrinkle Care mark on the cycle dial.

0Cycle Signal Option (on some models)
Thissignalwill soundjust before the end
of the cycle to remind you to remove the
clothes. On some models,the signalsound
levelcannot be adjusted.
If you selected the Wrinkle Care option, the
signalwill sound at the end of the drying
time and will sound several times during the
Wrinkle Care cycle.Thiswill remind you that
it istime to remove the clothes.
NOTE:
•Removegarments promptly at the sound
of the signal. Placeclothes on hangers so
wrinkles won't set in.
• Use the Cycle Signal especially when
drying fabrics like polyester knits and
permanent press. These fabrics should
be removed so wrinkles won't set in.
Automatic Cgcle Signal (onsomemodels)
At the end of each cycle, there is
approximately 15 minutes of no-heat
tumbling after the laundry is dry.
A reminder signal will sound periodically
during this time to remind you to remove
the laundry.
Drum Lamp (onsome models)
Before replacing the light bulb,be sure to
unplug the dryer power cord or disconnect
the dryer at the household distribution panel
by removing the fuse or switching off the
circuit breaker. Reachabove dryer opening
from insidethe drum. Removethe bulb and
replace with the same sizebulb.
Drying Rack (on some models)
A handy drying rack may be usedfor drying
delicate items such aswashable sweaters.
Hook the rack over the lintfilter sothe rack
extends into the dryer drum.
NOTE:
• Thedrying rack must be used with the
Time Dry cycle.
•Do not use this drging rack when there
are other clothes in the drger.

Stainless Steel Drum (on some models)
Thestainlesssteel used to make the dryer
drum provides the highest reliability available
in a GEdryer. If the dryer drum should be
scratched or dented during normal use,
the drum will not rust or corrode.These
surface blemisheswill not affect the function
or durability of the drum.

Reversing the Door
Toolsneeded:
•Standard#2 • Tape-tipped
Phillipsscrewdriver putty knife
rl] open the door and remove the filler plugsopposite the hinges.With the door completely
open,remove the bottom screw from each hinge on the dryer face. Insertthese screws
about half way into the TOPholes,for each hinge, on the opposite side(whereyou
removed the filler plugs).Applyfirm pressureto get the screw started in new holes.
r_ Loosentop screw from each hinge on the dryerface half way. With one hand holding the
top of the door and the other hand holding the bottom, remove the door from the dryer
by lifting it UPand OUT.
[-3-1Rotatethe door 180°.Insert it onthe opposite side ofthe opening by moving the door
/N and DOWN until the top hinge and the bottom hinge are resting on the top screws
inserted in step 1.
[] Removethe remaining screws from the sideof the opening from which the door
was removed.With these screws,secure each hinge at the bottom. Tighten the
two top screws of each hinge.Reinsertthe plasticplugs on the sidefrom which
the door was removed.

Loading and using the drger.
Alwags follow the fabric manufacturer's care label when laundering.
Sorting and Loading Hints
Asageneral rule,if clothes are sorted properly for the
washer,they are sorted properly for the dryer.
Donot add fabric softener sheets oncethe load has
become warm. They may cause fabric softener stains.
Bounce®Fabric Conditioner DryerSheets have been
approved for use in all GEDryerswhen used in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Do not overload. Thiswastes energy and causes
wrinkling.
Do not drg the following items:fiberglass items,
woolens, rubber-coated items, plastics,items with
plastictrim and foam-filled items.
Careand Cleaningof the Orger
TheExterior'.Wipe or dust any spillsor washing
compounds with a damp cloth. Dryer control
panel and finishes may be damaged bysome laundry
pretreatment soiland stain remover products. Apply
these products away from the dryer. Thefabric may
then be washed and dried normally. Damage to your
dryer caused by these products isnot covered by
your warranty.
TheLint Filten Cleanthe lint filter before each
use. Moistenyour fingers and reach into the filter
opening. Runyour fingers acrossthe filter.Havea
qualifiedtechnician vacuum the lintfrom the dryer
once a year.

Stainless Steel: To clean stainless steel surfaces,
use a damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
suitable for stainless steel surfaces. Removethe
cleaner residue, and then dry with a clean cloth.
TheExhaust Duct: Inspect and cleanthe exhaust
ducting at least once a year to prevent clogging.
A partially clogged exhaust can lengthen the
drying time.
Follow these steps:
IT1 Turn off electrical supply by disconnecting the
plug from the wall socket.
I-_ Disconnectthe duct from the dryer.
[-3-1Vacuum the duct with the hoseattachment and
reconnect the duct.
TheExhaust Hood: Checkfrom the outside that the
flaps ofthe hood move freely when operating. Hake
surethat there isnot wildlife (birds,insects,etc.)nesting
insidethe duct or hood.

Venting the Dryer
Forthe best drying performonce, the dryer needsto be properly vented. Thedryer will use more energy
and run longerifit isnot vented to thebelow specifications. Carefully follow thedetails on Exhausting in
the InstallationInstructions.
•Use only rigid metal 4" diameter ductwork inside the dryer cabinet. Use only rigid metal or ULlisted
flexible metal 4" diameter ductwork for exhausting to the outside.
• Donot useplastic or other combustible ductwork.
• Usethe shortest length possible.
• Donot crush or collapse.
• Avoid restingthe duct on sharp objects.
•Ventingmust conform tolocalbuilding codes.

Este decreto requiere que el Gobernador de California publique una lista de las sustancias que el
estado sabe que causan c6ncer, defectos de nacimiento y otros dahos reproductivos y requiere que
los comerciantes le adviertan a sus consumidores sabre el potencial de exposici6n a tales sustancias.
Los electrodom6sticos de gas pueden causar la exposici6n a cuatro de estas sustancias,
concretamente benceno, mon6xido de carbono, formaldehfdo y hollfn, principalmente causados par
la combusti6n incompleta del gas natural o de combustibles LP.

SU AREA DE SECADO
• Mantenga el 6rea debajo y alrededor de •
sus electrodom6sticos libre de materiales
combustibles (pelusas,papel,trapos, etc.),
gasolina, productos qu[micos y otros I[quidos

Mantengael pisoalrededor de sus
electrodom6sticos limpiosy secospara reducir

IVlantengatodos los articulos de limpieza

CUANDO USESU
• Noobstruya el flujo del aire ventilado. No apile,
no coloque ropa, no eche alfombras al frente o al
respaldo de la secadora.
SECADORA
Nunca introduzca sus manos en el interior de
la secadora mientras el tambor giratorio est6
movi6ndose. Antes de agregar y sacar ropa,espere
hasta que eltambor giratorio se haya detenido.
Elproceso de lavado puede reducir la habilidad
de retardar laflamabilidad de algunas telas.
Paraevitar tal resultado,siga las instrucciones
del fabricante de lastelas con mucho cuidado.
Limpieelfiltro de pelusas antes de cada carga
para evitar la acumulaci6n de pelusas en el interior

Nolaveo sequeart[culos que se hayan limpiado,
lavado, remojado o salpicado con sustancias
combustibles o explosivas(talescomo cera,aceite,

tintorer[a, kerosene).Estassustancias producen
vapores que podr[an incendiarse o explotar. No
agregue estassustancias al agua de lavado. No
use ni coloque estassustancias alrededor de la
lavadora o secadora durante su uso.
Nocoloque art[culos expuestos a aceite
de cocinar en la secadora. Losart[culos
contaminados con aceites de cocinar podr[an
contribuir a formar una reacci6n quimica que
podr[a causar que una carga de ropas se incendie.
Cualquierart[culo sobreel cual usted us6
un solventede limpieza o que contenga materiales
inflamables (tales como paBosde limpieza,
trapeadores, toallas usadas en salones de belleza,
restaurantes o barber[as)no se deben colocar en el
interior o en las proximidades de la secadora basra
que lossolventes o liquidos inflamables se hayan
removido. Existenmuchos art[culos inflamables
en el hogar tales como la acetona, el alcohol, la
gasolina, el kerosene,algunos limpiadores,algunos
quitamanchas, aguarr6s, trementina, ceras,
removedores de ceray productos que contengan
derivados del petr61eo.
Nosequearticulos que contengan goma, pl6stico,
espuma o materiales similarestales como
sostenes (brasieres)con relleno,ganchos de goma,
alfombras de baBo,baberos de niBo,pantalones de
niBo,bolsas pl6sticasy almohadas que se puedan
derretir o quemar. Algunos materiales gomosos,
cuando secalientan, bajo ciertas circunstancias
podr[an incendiarse por combusti6n espont6nea.
Durante su operaci6n, no almacene encima de la
secadora pl6sticos,papel o ropa que se puedan
quemar o derretir.
Lasprendas de vestir etiquetadas "Dry awag
from hear' (Secaralejadasdel calor)o "Do not
tumble dry" (Nosecar por giro)--tales como
chaquetas salvavidas que contienen capoc-
no sedeben colocar en susecadora.
Nosequearticulos de fibra de vidrio en su
secadora. Estopodr[a ocasionar irritaci6n en la piel
debido alas part[culas restantes que se podrian
adherir a la ropa durante usos subsecuentes
de la secadora.
Paraminimizar la posibilidad de una descarga
el6ctrica, desconecte 6ste electrodom6stico de su
tomacorriente o desconecte la secadora del panel
de distribuci6n el6ctrica del edificio removiendo el
fusible o desconectando el circuito antes de dar
cualquier tipo de mantenimiento o limpieza (con
la excepci6n de remover y limpiar el filtro de la
pelusa).NOTA:accionar la perilla Selectorade ciclo
a una posici6n de apagado (Off)o apretar PAUSE
