Instructions for Assembly and Use
DC2 ”S“
Electronic control for tubular drives
The DC2 ”S“ is a modern and safe alternative to conventional control gear. For ope-
ning or closing of the door the drive unit is activated through a handtransmitter
(radio control) or through a push-button on the housing.
After pushing of the push-button or the handtransmitter the door is triggered UP or
DOWN.

geba GmbH is released of its obligations regarding guarantee and product liability if - without
prior permission - the unit has been modified, or if the installation is improper or not in accordance
with our instruction manual.
The installer has to take care that the EMC-regulations are respected. GB
The most important characteristics of the DC2 ”S“are:
➢Simple operation, programming and assembly.
➢Water-protected enclosure.
➢A maximum of safety:
➢ The electronic decoder is separately installed in the protected area
➢ Nearly unlimited data security, even with power failure
➢ Direct connection to safety edge
➢ Rolling code transmitter
➢High switching capacity for direct control of appliances

Description of the appliance
The DC2 ”S“controller is suitable for use with tubular motors or geared drive units. It has
the facility for the connection of radio control or keyswitch.
Radio control (optional)
The radio receiver board is easily fitted into the controller. To program the transmitter:
1. Press the ”learning”key on the receiver unit momentarily. The control light beside
this key should begin to flash.
2. Press and hold the transmitter key. When the transmitter is programmed in, the
control light will give a steady glow. (The control light will extinguish after a few
seconds).
Antenna
The antenna (27 Mhz 0.5 or 0.75 mm2 x 2.0m long) or (433 Mhz 0.5 or 0.75 mm2x 20cm
long) should be connected to the receiver unit as indicated, and then fixed along the wall
at about 1cm distance from the wall (this can be acheived using plastic conduit + clips).
Control function settings:
These are programmed by use of DIP-switches 1, 2 & 3.
When the relevant DIP-switch is switched on, it will flash for a 5 second period at either
1x or 2x flashes, and will then change to 2x or 1x. With reference to the table below, the
different functions are set simply by returning the switch to the OFF position when the
desired mode is indicated by the flashes.

Assembly Instructions
Assembly of the logic unit (inside area):
1. Put the screw-driver into the gap of the enclosure front, push the screw-driver up and
open the enclosure.
2. Remove the control PCB (which is force fitted to the inside of the enclosure).
3. Locate the screwed glands supplied (sealing nipple left side) in the
enclosure and replace the PCB. (Please ensure PCB is firmly in position)
4. Bore the fastening holes and fix the enclosure bracket at the wall.
5. Insert the wires through the cable entry (sealing nipple).
Ensure tight seating of sealing nipple and cable gland, otherwise the water-protection ot
the appliance cannot be assured.
6. According to connection diagram connect the wires to the corresponding terminals:
Safety edge (Option)
The DC2 ”S“has the facility for connection of either a pneumatic or an electrical
safety edge, with no requirement for additional external monitoring/evaluation unit.
If an electrical type safety edge is fitted, the 8,2 kΩresistor should be connected to the
2 electrical contacts at the end of the safety edge.
If a pneumatic version is fitted the resistor should be fitted in series with the normally
closed contact. Also a pre-limit switch should be installed on the door approximately
50mm from floor level.
Tubular Motor
Care should be taken that the ▲UP and ▼ DOWN connections from the tubular motor
to the controller are made in the correct orientation .
The connection should be made with the door in the closed or half-closed position.
If on power-up the door moves in the wrong direction, the power should be broken,
the ▲ and ▼connections reversed, and then the controller should function correctly.
