3INSTRUCTION MANUAL
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before using the PRO1000V, to activate the installed
batteries, remove the plastic tab that serves as
the battery insulator power discharge protector
located on the battery terminal inside of the battery
compartment. With the stainless steel weighing
platform positioned onto the PRO1000V, gently
rotate the scales weighing platform clockwise to
reveal the scales bubble balance leveling indicator
and then adjust the feet as needed by unscrewing in
order to make the scale level. Then rotate the scales
weighing platform counterclockwise until in its locked
position. The scale is now ready to be turned on and
used.
CONTROL PANEL 6 BUTTON ID
& EXPLANATION
1. ON/MEM - Push this button once to turn the scale
on. While in the gram mode, the blue backlit
display will then show 0.0g after it stabilizes (the
scale will automatically display the last unit of
measure (g, oz, dwt, ozt, ct or Parts Counting)
that was programmed into the scales memory,
by pushing the MODE/CAL button. When the
scale is on, push this button to begin using the

GEMORO PLATINUM PRO1000V 4
memory function as described in the MEMORY
PROCEDURE section noted below.
2. TARE - Push this button once to bring the scales
display back to 0.0g while in the gram mode (this
feature may be used in any mode). When using a
weighing tray or other type of scoop or container,
simply place the tray, etc. on the weighing platform
and then push the TARE (zero) button once to
automatically subtract the weight of whatever was
on the weighing platform while maintaining the
subtracted weight in its memory. The display will
then show 0.0g. If you then take the tray off of the
weighing platform, from its memory the display
will show a negative weight equal to the weight of
the tray or whatever was on the weighing platform.
After placing the tray back on the weighing
platform, you may then place the item that you
wish to weigh directly into the tray and weigh it
independently. When you no longer wish to use the
tray, you may press the TARE button once again
to bring the display back to 0.0g or press the ON/
MEM button once to turn the scale off since both
of these steps will subtract the weight from its
memory.
3. MODE/CAL - To change the scales unit of

• CAUTION: Use only the UL Listed GemOro 6V
AC adaptor Item #9756. This universal adaptor is
designed to specifically work with the PRO1000V
balance. The unique feature of the PRO1000V
adaptor is that it allows the adaptor to automatically

requirements allowing for use worldwide from the
USA to Europe and beyond! Use of another type of
adaptor may permanently damage the scale, cause
a fire and void the warranty.
• Insert the female plug from the AC adaptor into the
scales male receptacle located on the right of the
scale and then plug the AC adaptors prongs into
the desired electrical wall outlet.

Battery Operation
• When removing the battery cover, be certain not to
apply excessive force or pressure onto the weighing
platform or damage may occur to the scales load
cell and void the warranty. To activate the installed
batteries, remove the plastic tab which serves as
the battery insulator power discharge protector
located on the battery terminal inside of the
battery compartment and then replace the battery
compartment cover. To install new batteries,
remove the battery cover on the bottom of the
scale with caution as indicated above and place the
4 – AA alkaline batteries into the compartment as
indicated.
• Insert the battery cover back onto the battery
compartment when finished.
CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
Once calibrated, the PRO1000V should maintain its
calibration unless moved, bumped or the weighing
environment has changed. For best results, it is
advisable to check the calibration at regular intervals
by placing a known mass (weight) or the optional
1000g calibration weight on the scale’s weighing
platform. If calibration is required, please carefully
follow these steps:

GEMORO PLATINUM PRO1000V 8
CAUTION: Never attempt to calibrate the PRO1000V
unless you first have the required 1000g calibration
weight (sold separately Item #9748) with the scale.
1. Press the ON/MEM button to turn the PRO1000V
on. Allow the scale to warm up and stabilize for
approximately two minutes before commencing
with the calibration procedure.
2. Remove all items from the weighing platform and
press the tare button to zero the display.
3. After observing a stable 0.0g while in the (g) gram
mode, press and hold the MODE/CAL button until
the calibration weight value of 1000g appears on
the display.
4. Gently place the 1000g calibration weight on the
center of the stainless steel weighing platform.
Wait approximately 4 seconds as the unit performs
internal calibration. IMPORTANT- Do not disturb
the PRO1000V during this time as it may impact
the accuracy of the calibration.
5. The display will then show “F” which indicates that
the calibration procedure has been successful.
If “E” appears on the display instead of “F”,
this indicates that an error has occurred in
the calibration procedure and the calibration
procedure should be repeated.

6. Then by pressing the tare button the balance will
return to its active weighing mode.
COUNTING FEATURE
The Parts Counting feature within your scale can be
really handy if you are in need of counting a large
number of small items (example: silver bead, findings,
gold chains, etc.) very quickly and accurately. By
weighing a sample of perhaps 5 pieces (the larger
the sample used the greater the accuracy of the per
piece count) the scale will determine the average
weight of each piece and use that as its reference.
Once the reference sample weight has been
determined, you may place an unknown quantity of
the item on the scale and it will automatically count
the exact number of pieces.
1. To set your PRO1000V to the parts counting mode,
once the scale has been turned on and stabilized,
press the MODE/CAL button and continue to press
the button repeatedly while scrolling through the
various units of measure until the display reads rEF
5 (reference 5 pieces) which indicates it is in the
counting mode with the sample required being 5
pieces (keep pressing the MODE/CAL button if you
wish to use a larger sample size of 10, 20, or 50).

GEMORO PLATINUM PRO1000V 10
Note: If you continue pressing the MODE/CAL
button, after “50” is displayed, the indicator will
scroll back to the units of measure mode.
2. With the desired sample size indicated on the
display (5, 10, 20, or 50), place the number of parts
equivalent to the desired sample size on the top
of the stainless steel weighing platform. Allow
the sample to stabilize for 3-5 seconds then press
TARE. The parts counting function is now set to
begin counting. In other words, at this stage if the
sample size was 5, if you added 10 more of the
parts onto the weighing platform the display would
then read 15.
3. In many cases (when counting very small or round
parts, etc.) it is more practical to use a scoop (tray
or container) to hold the parts you wish to count
and the PRO1000V can easily accommodate
this. Once the scale is on and stabilized, place
the desired scoop on the weighing platform and
press the TARE button to zero the weight of the
scoop from its display. Then continue pressing the
MODE/CAL button until the rEF 5 is displayed and
the scale may then begin its counting feature while
using the scoop as needed.

11INSTRUCTION MANUAL
MEMORY FUNCTION
1. After turning the scale on, press the TARE button
to bring the display back to zero.
2. Place a scoop or item to be weighed onto the
weighing platform and when the displayed weight
of the item is stable, press the ON/MEM button
once. This will subtract the weight of the item
from the display and add the weight into the scales
memory (which is factory preset at zero). You will
notice an “M” on the scales display in the upper
right corner of the display that indicates there is
weight accumulated in its memory.
3. You may repeat this procedure as many times
as you like up until the cumulative weight in the
scales memory reaches 1000g.
4. To view the cumulative weight in the scales
memory, press the ON/MEM button again and it
will display the weight and the “M” will disappear
and the weight will then be subtracted from the
scales memory.
5. Press TARE button once in order to bring the
display back to zero and resume normal operation
of the scale.
