NOTE: This unit is designed for outdoor use only. This unit is not designed to be used on wood
decks or under roof enclosures. Locate unit reasonable distance from any combustible materials.
Comply with local building code(s) and burning permits as applicable. Retain these instructions
with unit.

Step
1Create a level base using Crusher Run Stone to accommodate the overall footprint
of the replace.
Prepare an area 4'4"wide x 4'8"deep.
Remove sod and vegetation.
Excavate/remove so soil as required to provide level stone surface at a
minimum of 4"deep.
If soil under sod is hard, soil can be leveled out and used as a base
material.
If required, use landscape blocks to retain stone base.
If installing optional hearth/knee wall, extend base as required.

NOTE: All outdoor living kits can be installed directly on a properly prepared stone base. However, for best performance and
appearance, a concrete pad is recommended.
Reference diagrams for creating a level base.

2Build the replace (courses 1 through 3).
Assemble the replace on a level setting base.
Use supplied thin set between all courses and all blocks.
Dry stack courses 1 through 4 and check t for re brick before applying
thin set. Adjust gap / position of "A" and "I" blocks to accommodate re
Adjust position of units and/or shim units as required to maintain
uniform level and square courses. (NOTE: Pre-packaged shims, pieces
of roof shingles or metal washers can be used as shims.)

The 6" x 7 1/4" x 32" Cast Rock Lintel in courses 11 & 12 is shared between
the two courses.
