The Genie CAP-REX-1G is a sleek contactless request to exit button and works
using capacitive technology. It has a blue LED back light which turns green on
activation. The CAP-REX-1G is 1G in size making it perfect for most access control
applications.
1. Product Features
• When triggered, the back light will change colour with an audible tone
• Provides a dry contact output to interface with any access control controller
• Built-in mechanical override in case of power failure or electronic failure
• Built-in a digital timer to control the relay output timing from 1 to 15 sec
• Back lit design and built-in buzzer (buzzer selectable)
• Capacitance proximity technology has been used instead of infrared
technology – environmental independent design

7. DIP Switch Setting
• As you put your hand near the exit button the capacitive technology will
trigger the device without the need to actually touch it. The colour of the exit
button will change from blue to green in colour when triggered. At the same
time, the relay inside the exit button device will trigger for 1 second and the
built-in buzzer will beep once.
• To adjust the door open duration, please power off the exit button. Change
the DIP Switch setting to alter the door open duration from the table below,
adjustable from 1 to 15 seconds, re-apply power again for the change to take
place.
• Support mechanical override.
• Support an external device/switch to trigger the unit.
• Remote Control is an option (Special order item)

ON 1 No. 1,2,3,4 are used for adjusting door open duration.
ON = Valid

Door open duration = To add all the ON position
switch numbers
Example:
If we set 1 and 4 to “ON”, the door open during will be:
1+8=9 the decimal number is 9 seconds (decimal
number)
*Setting all DIP switch to OFF position means door
duration = 1 sec.

Change the DIP Switch, please power off for changes to take place.

8. Installation
1. Confirm the size of back box fits CAP REX-1G as shown in 3. Product
Dimensions.
2. Confirm all wiring is correct. Set the jumpers to the required positions.
3. Secure the exit button to the back box with correct screws as shown below.
4. There are 2 M-type buckles at the bottom of the cover as shown in the below
left image. Align them into the slot at the bottom of the module and then push
the upper part of the cover up (as shown below in right image) to secure exit
button cover. Unit is now ready to use.
