THE CASE
The GENTIAN Vaultcase timepiece has a 40mm case of
316L polished stainless steel. The 316L stainless steel is highly
resistant to corrosion and is hypoallergenic, making it ideal for
prolonged contact with skin.
The case is designed to be highly durable in it’s architecture
using natural curvatures to ensure proper structure. The
machining process is rened through CNC routing and complex
high-end hand nishing to create the main steel components. The
arched vault-like forms visible in the case ensure a remarkable
and unique aesthetic nish which takes advantage of the natural
reections to create its unique form. The tightly sealed screw-
down crown ensure proper water resistance of 100 metres.
The screw-in back has a mineral glass crystal window, enabling
the movement and brushed gold plated rotor to be admired.
On the back of the case are engraved the sequential number of
the timepiece, the case material, logo, case name, country of
fabrication, and maximum depth of use. The water-resistance
of your timepiece is guaranteed to a pressure of 10 bar, which
corresponds to the hydrostatic pressure exterted by a column of
water on 1 square centimetre at a depth of 100 metres under

6
normal conditions. In these circumstances your timepiece is
therefore water-resistant to a depth of about 100 metres when
the crown and case back are properly screwed in place.

THE DIAL
GENTIAN dials are built from the same 316L steel that the
case is, and nely brushed in a radial pattern to create the
unique “sunburst” effect. The appled indicies and the date
window are also manufactured with steel, and tted to the dial
surface by hand.
In order to ensure optimal levels of legibility, it is advised
that the sapphire crystal is kept clean at all times. The hands
are made of steel and/or tempered steel (depending on your
model).

THE LEATHER STRAP
The leather strap is hypo-allergenic. It is tted with a stainless
steel deployant buttery buckle for greater t and safety. Strap
width is 20mm at its widest and 18mm at the buckle.
THE LENS
The top crystal is of sapphire, made of corundum, a very
hard material (second only to diamond), free of impurities,
transparent, resistant to abrasion and with anti-reective
treatment to prevent glare in certain lighting conditions.
THE MOVEMENT
The automatic mechanical movement with manual winding
capabilities developed by Swiss Tech Calibre S24, 11 ½ lignes
(25.60mm), 4.85mm thick, 29 jewels.
The seconds hand is hackable when the crown is unscrewed to
position 2 (see diagram), allowing for precise time setting.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
MANUAL WINDING
1. Unscrew the winding crown to position 1 and without
pulling it out, wind it clockwise until it feels tense. DO NOT
OVERWIND, as this may damage the calibre.
2. Screw the winding crown back to position 0.
Position 0 1 2 3

11
AUTOMATIC WINDING
The timepiece will automatically self-wind through daily
wear. The brushed gold rotor that keeps the caiblre wound
can be seen through the display caseback. In the unlikely
event that it should stop moving, please have your timepiece
serviced immediately.
SETTING THE TIME
1. Unscrew the winding crown and pull it out position 3.
2. Set the correct time.
3. Push back the winding crown to position 1 and screw it
down to position 0.
SETTING THE DATE
1. Unscrew the winding crown and pull it out position 2.
2. Set the correct date.
3. Push back the winding crown to position 1 and screw it
down to position 0.

12
REPLACING THE STRAP
1. The strap can be easily replaced by using compressing the
spring-bar between the lugs using a pin pusher (spring-bar tool).
2. Remove the spring-bar from the strap, and insert into new
strap.
3. Using the a push-pin tool, reinsert the alternate strap between
lugs, until the spring-bar snaps into place.
MAINTENANCE ADVICE
GENTIAN timepieces are produced according to very
high standards of quality. It is worth remembering that the
mechanical parts run 24 hours a day when used, so the timepiece
must undergo regular maintenance to ensure long life and good
operation.
WATER-RESISTANCE
Have your timepiece checked periodically every two years by
a qualied watch service centre, or whenever the case has to be
opened. Restoring the timepiece’s water-resistance necessarily

13
involves replacing the seals so as to ensure the maximum water-
resistance and security. Where the timepiece is used in extreme
underwater sports, it is recommended that it should be checked
every year before the season of underwater activities begins.
THE MOVEMENT
Have the movement of your timepiece checked periodically
by a qualied watch service centre so as to maintain its perfect
operation. If the watch tends to gain or lose time signicantly,
the movement may need to be overhauled.
The S24 calibre movements are designed to withstand
temperature variations between -10 degrees Celcius and +60
degrees Celcius.
Outside this range of temperatures, operational variations
exceeding those set out in the specications of the movement
may be noticed. In addition there is a risk that the lubricants
contained in the movement may deteriorate, resulting in
damage to some of its parts.

14
CLEANING THE EXTERIOR
To keep the exterior in perfect condition, it is recommended
that, after removing the leather straps, you wash your case with
soap and warm water, using a soft brush. After this operation,
and also after bathing in the sea or a swimming pool, carefully
rinse the timepiece with clean water. All GENTIAN timepieces
can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.
CLEANING THE STRAP
GENTIAN leather straps are made out of genuine alligator
leather from farms committed to the highest standard of
responsibility and have given their assurances that such farms
contribute to stable growth of wild alligators, thus protecting
this endangered species. GENTIAN does not use skins coming
from fragile or endangered species taken from the wild. Pat
down the leather strap with a damp cloth. Avoid using a wet
cloth or immersing the leather in water, as this will irreparably
damage the quality of the strap. If desired put a small dab of
mild, moisturizing hand soap on the cloth and scrub the strap
on both sides. Rinse and dampen the cloth with clean water and
wipe the strap clean with a damp cloth.

15
ATTENTION
DO NOT USE THE WATCH AT A DEPTH GREATER THAN THAT
INDICATED!
