1. Introduction
1.1 Use of Solumixer
The Solumixer is designed for the determination of the solubility of milk powder, in
accordance with the instructions of the American dairy products Institute (ADPI) and of
general application for the determination of the solubility of various powder.
1.2 Discription
The Solumixer is ruggedly built and has a compact design. To provide greater security, now
the device is equipped with a safety door. Only when the door is closed, the Solumixer works.
The operation is very simple. It is made only of two colour-coded buttons.
The speed and runtime is fix.

The Solumixer may not be used in the following environmental conditions:
Direct sunlight
Heat sources in the vicinity
Vibrations
Moisture

2. Safety instructions
Read operating instructions carefully before installation.
During each work with the Solumixer please ensure that a glass jar is located
under the stirrer blade.
During the mixing the lever must not been moved out of the „fixing position“,
otherwise the device will be damaged.
Never touch moving parts. (with the safety door that is hardly possible)
Don’t use the Solumixer when cable or plug is damaged.
When using accessories that are not sold by Gerber instruments, persons could be
injured. Any kind of change or modification of this product is not recommended.
Switch off the device and disconnect it from the mains when it is not being used, if
parts are replaced or when the appliance is cleaned.

Check whether the mains voltage and frequency in your country correspond
to the technical specifications of the device.

4. Unpacking and checking the Solumixer
4.1 Unpacking
Put the packaging box on the floor.
Remove the rest of the packaging material.
Take the Solumixer and the glass jar out of the packaging and put all parts on a suitable
surface.
4.2 Checking
Please check following:
Transportation damages
Moisture on the surface of the housing
Other irregularities
If one of these criteria is true, the Solumixer should not been installed.
5. Installation
Put the Solumixer on a solid surface.
The surface must be vibration-free and be sure that there’s a space of 10 cm at the
rear of the housing.
Connect the Solumixer with the mains.
Switch on the mainswitch at the rear of the device.

6. Daily work
Open the safety door.
Push the lever up. The Glass holder thus moves downward.
Fill the glass with sample material.
Put the glass jar under the stirrer blade.
Push the lever down, till it is fixed. Now the glass jar is fixed.
Close the safety door.
Push the start button.
Now the stirrer will work for 90 sec at 3600 rpm.
After that, the program stops automatically.
With the stop button and by opening the safety door, working program
could be interrupted at any time.

The device will be delivered in a special packaging.
Please keep this packaging. You need it if want to send back the device for service or
reparation.

Switch off the main switch (back panel).
Clean the surface of the Solumixer with a moist, lint-free cloth.
The shaft of the mixing knife can be cleaned with water with the mixing knife.

11. Warranty
Gerber instruments warrants that this product during the period of 2 years from the date of
delivery or date of installation is free from defects.
Prerequisite for this intended use, complying with the instructions of this manual as well as
the use original Gerber spare parts.
Should still in the period of time a defect occur, Gerber will arrange the free repair or
replacement instrument. The device must be returned within the warranty period. Warranty
effect neither an extension of the warranty period, nor a claim for a new warranty.
Repairs are not carried out free of charge, by ordinary wear and tear.
Freight charges for replacement parts are paid by the purchaser.
