CAUTION
When the mode switch is operated with the EQs engaged a thump may be produced
at the amp’s speaker. To avoid damaging your speaker disengage (bypass) the EQ
before changing the Series / Parallel / Independent configuration.

help you get the best out of this extraordinary EQ pedal.
User Manual
Equalisys consists of 2 separate parametric EQs which can be combined in three different
ways: series, parallel, and independent. Each EQ has its own gain, bandwidth (Q), center
frequency, and master volume. The variety of ways in which the two EQs can be combined
makes it a very versatile tool to sculpture your tone for various setups.

Parametric EQ Explained
A Parametric EQ (PEQ) is a little harder to user than a Graphical EQ (GEQ), but it is a
much more powerful tone-shaping tool. Unlike a GEQ, a PEQ gives you full control over all
three EQ parameters : Gain, Frequency, and Q(bandwidth).
Gain knob allows you to boost or cut your signal at a specific frequency.
Frequency knob allows you to adjust the frequency at which the boost / cut occurs.
Q knob allows you to control the amount of frequency range affected by the boost / cut.
Low Q settings allow wide frequency range to be affected, while high Q settings focus the
boost / cut to a specific frequency.
Important frequencies for guitar :
• Lows : 100 Hz - 300 Hz
• Low Mids : 400 Hz - 600 Hz
• Mids : 700 Hz - 1KHz
• High Mids : 1 KHz - 2 KHz.
• Presence : 5 KHz
Low Q = Wide bandwidth High Q = Narrow bandwidth
When applying a boost or a cut, you may perceive an increase or a drop in the overall
volume level, adjust Master knob to compensate this perceived volume change. Set this
knob at mid-point (12 o’clock) for unity gain.

GAIN controls the boost / cut gain of the filter. Center position (12 o’clock) is flat setting,
neither boost nor cut is applied. Range: -15 dB to +15 dB.
Q controls the bandwidth (sharpness) of the filter’s resonance. Turn up the knob clockwise
to get sharper resonance (smaller bandwidth).
FREQ controls the center frequency of the filter’s resonance. Range: ~40 Hz to ~8 KHz.
MASTER provides up to -12 dB volume attenuation and up to +12dB of volume boost.

Mode Configuration
The three EQ configuration modes are selected using the MODE switch. Each mode and
its uses is explained below.
In series configuration the two EQs are serially connected as shown. IN-2 and OUT-2 are
not used in this configuration. This mode is useful to get two parametric EQ curves com-
bined, for example you can apply a sharp cut/boost at 200 Hz while applying a broad cut/
boost around 3 KHz.

In parallel mode the two EQs are fed with the same input signal (from INP-1), but their out-
puts go to seperate output terminals (OUT-1 and OUT-2). This configuration is useful when
you want to apply different EQ curves to two different effect chains or amps. You can also
use Equalisys as a splitter pedal with individual volume control (set GAIN knob at mid-
point).
In this configuration the input output signals are totally independent, you can apply the
two EQs to two separate signal chains / amps. One convenient use of this mode is to use
the pedal for applying pre- and post-equalization to overdrive or distortion pedal, this two-
stage equalisation scheme is a powerful way to get the best out of your dirt pedals (or if
using amp’s distortion place EQ-1 before the preamp and EQ-2 in the send / return loop).

PRE / POST EQUALISATION
Pre / Post equalization is powerful equalising technique, basically you apply EQ before
and after the overdrive / distortion effect. What you have is a very tweakable tone shap-
ing of your drive sound. With Equalisys you can do pre-post equalization very easily
(without having to have 2 separate EQ pedals), here’s how :
